Chapter 537 Cheated, Going to Dump Her

Finally getting some alone time with Winona, Zachary wanted to avoid any stressful topics. He said, "Let Benjamin help you move."

Zachary actually hoped Winona would just take the essentials and leave the rest behind, then buy new stuff. But he worried that if she left too much, she might use it as an excuse to move out again later.

Winona thought for a moment and replied, "Okay."

Since she was currently on "vacation" and didn't need to go to work at the Bailey Group, there was no need to stay in a business center where she had to fight to get on the subway. Plus, it would keep Zachary from getting distracted because of her.

Finally convincing Winona to move back in meant that reconciliation wasn't far off. Once Zachary dealt with that lunatic Timothy, he would drag Winona to get their marriage certificate as soon as possible, to avoid any more complications. Then he could work on getting that hypothetical child back.

But if Winona got pregnant, Zachary would have to endure loneliness again.

Zachary figured no married man in the world had it worse than him. He and Winona had known each other for over ten years, been married for three, divorced for one, and the total number of times they had been intimate could be counted on two hands.

But what if Winona didn't get pregnant? What if one day she woke up, regretted everything, and decided to leave?

If Samuel knew what Zachary was thinking, he'd definitely mock Zachary without mercy. Samuel might say, "She could leave you, take the kid, marry another man while pregnant, and even make the kid call you godfather. You'd end up spending money and effort, only to watch them live happily ever after, while some innocent kid asks you, 'Why are you crying?'"

Zachary didn't have such a rich life experience and couldn't imagine such shocking scenarios, so he was in a great mood, feeling confident. The only dilemma was whether to enjoy sex first or focus on having a child.

But that could depend on how their relationship developed.

He brushed his lips against Winona's cheek, pretending to kiss her.

Winona pushed his chin away with her hand. She said, "With Timothy being so clingy, is he going to bring a chair and watch you sleep at night?"

Zachary looked at her, annoyed. He replied, "No, I live alone. He even had a girlfriend before."

In fact, he hadn't met Timothy's girlfriend; Timothy had just told him about her.

Winona was surprised. "He had a girlfriend? If she wanted to break up, with his extreme personality, wouldn't he just kill her?"

Zachary sensed her curiosity, and his face darkened. "We finally get some alone time, but you're curious about him? You've never been curious about me."

When Winona used to like Matthew, she wouldn't even look at Zachary, as if he was polluting her eyes. Later, she was determined to divorce Zachary, and the most she said to him was "get lost."

This childish Zachary, even jealous of this.

Winona found it funny but put on a stern face and glared at him. "What else are you hiding from me?" she asked.

Zachary's past was pretty uneventful. Lydia had already spilled most of his life stories to Winona, including how he cried for a whole semester in kindergarten, making him the class record holder, and his middle school antics. Winona couldn't think of anything else to be curious about.Zachary looked at Winona, suddenly feeling a bit nervous. "Winona, when did you start liking me?" he asked.

Even though he had asked before, he wanted to hear it again.

It seemed like he had always been in control of this relationship. He was high and mighty, with any woman he wanted, while Winona was down and out, like a rat everyone avoided. But only he knew that in this marriage, he was the insecure one, always worried she would leave.

Winona remembered his past misdeeds. Even though she knew the reasons and had forgiven him, she still couldn't help wanting to hit him whenever she thought about it. She replied, "When you started spending money on me."

Noticing Zachary's dark expression, she kept teasing him, pretending to be distressed. She added, "I'm not that shallow, but you gave so much."

Zachary asked, "So if you meet another man willing to spend that much on you, will you fall for him?"

Matthew had given Winona a three-billion-dollar card to pay off her debts. One was a debt collector, the other a benefactor, just like when she had felt trapped back then.

Although Winona didn't accept it, accepting and being tempted were two different things.

Zachary thought that he had to give Winona more money, to accumulate an amount no one else could match.

Winona said, "Who knows? If he's my type, I might not be able to resist."

Noticing Zachary nearly fuming, Winona couldn't help but laugh. She cupped his face, pressed a quick kiss to his tight-lipped mouth, and then jumped out of the car.

She stood outside the car, the light casting her features in a blur. She said, "There won't be such a person. Besides you, I won't take money from any other man. As for my type..."

Winona paused, bending down and leaning closer to avoid being overheard. She continued, "Zachary, I like you, not just because of the money. You shone in my eyes back then, and you still do now.

So, whatever you do, put your safety first. Take care of yourself. I'll be waiting for you at Regal Oaks."

As she straightened up, Zachary quickly grabbed her head and gave her a long kiss.

When they finally parted, both were a bit breathless.

Zachary's voice was hoarse, his eyes filled with reluctance as he said, "Move back tonight."

Winona hadn't gone far when she received a notification of a ten-million-dollar transfer from Zachary. Because it was a large amount, it would take some time to reach her account. [Only take my money.]

Childish.

The next day, Samuel arrived at the office to find a gift from Zachary: a wristwatch with a glowing dial.

He called Zachary. "Have you lost your mind? Why are you giving me a watch?" he asked.

And one that glowed green, no less.

If Samuel went out at night, everyone within a hundred feet would see his glowing wrist.

If Julia disliked it, it would be another reason for her to dump him.

Samuel frowned.

He should've known better than to expect anything good from Zachary.

Yet Zachary sounded like he was doing Samuel a favor. "It glows in the dark, so you won't miss curfew in those dark places you go to."

"Do you think I don't know it glows?" Samuel couldn't help but curse. "I have a phone. I can make it as bright as I want. Get someone to take this green watch away, or I'll give it to Winona and tell her you're cheating on her."

Every second the watch stayed with him was an insult to his taste.
