Chapter 480 Spent Several Billion Dollars
Winona was glad she hadn't taken a sip of water, or she would've spit it all over him. Was this guy for real?
She swallowed and asked, "Did your brother agree?"
As she spoke, she rubbed her belly. Honestly, it felt soft and pretty comfy. "I'm pregnant. If you want to be my boyfriend, you'll have to be a stepdad. But you're so young..."
Timothy cut her off, looking sincere. "I don't mind, Winona. I like you, and I'll like your child too. I'll treat him as my own."
Winona couldn't hold it in and quickly turned her head.
She then extended her hand apologetically towards them and said, "Sorry, it's a normal reaction for a pregnant woman. It's not that I find you disgusting. What did you say?"
Timothy fell silent, meeting Winona's clear yet naive gaze. A hint of disdain flashed in his eyes as he struggled to understand what Zachary saw in her.
When Timothy was hypnotizing Zachary, his first thought was to eliminate this potential threat. As long as Zachary didn't remember Winona, Timothy could find an opportunity to get rid of her without anyone knowing.
Emotions were the most compelling. If Winona was allowed to come and go around Zachary, constantly bringing up the past, there was no guarantee it wouldn't trigger some memories.
But no matter what methods Timothy and Dr. Wilson used, even when Zachary was tortured to the point of being a wreck, he still firmly remembered he had a girlfriend. In the end, Timothy had no choice but to settle for the next best thing, finding someone similar based on Zachary's description, but it didn't fool him.
Fortunately, Zachary only remembered having a girlfriend but not her appearance. Seeing Winona's photo didn't jog his memory. To avoid backfiring, Timothy had to give up altering that part of his memory.
"My brother came today to introduce me. I have no parents, and besides Nicholas, I have no other siblings. You don't need to worry about anyone opposing us. From now on, I'll start learning how to be a good dad." The more Timothy spoke, the more excited he became, as if her child was already calling him dad.
Hearing this, Winona was speechless.
She thought, 'More like learning how to abuse my child, you pervert.'
If it weren't for her concerns, she would have taken out a pillow and thrown it at Timothy right then and there.
However, Timothy continued his heartfelt confession, making Winona's skin crawl. She was sure the foot that had brushed against her leg earlier was Timothy's. His sweet talk was so clichéd that even the boys who chased her in elementary school wouldn't have said something so corny.
Zachary frowned slightly, signaling her with his eyes: "Reject him."
Winona glanced at him, then turned her gaze back to Timothy.
"This is all too sudden. I need to think it over," she said like a caring older sister, her head slightly lowered and her voice soft and gentle. "Timothy, I'm a few years older than you and I'm pregnant. You should take some time to consider it too..."
Timothy replied, "I've already thought it over."
Raising Zachary's child by his side would give Timothy leverage, ensuring Zachary could never escape his control.
The thought was exhilarating.
At this, Winona remarked, "Since you say you like me, shouldn't you show some sincerity? Like persuading your brother to return the project he took from the Bailey Group. How can I believe you just by your words?"
Zachary breathed a sigh of relief because he knew Timothy would never agree to return the project to the Bailey family. Timothy wanted the Bailey family to go bankrupt, to crush them into the ground, to avenge their refusal to adopt him.
He definitely wouldn't give it up for Winona, and he wasn't genuinely interested in her either.
Timothy said, "Sincerity?"
Winona replied, "Of course. When you're chasing a woman, you have to give gifts and money. Matthew spent billions of dollars on me, and although Austin didn't throw money around, he helped me a lot."
Hearing this, Zachary was speechless.
After a long pause, he still didn't hear Winona mention him. He was so angry that his chest hurt, and he barely held back from asking.
He had given her flowers and helped her; didn't he deserve some recognition? When had Matthew ever spent billions on her?
