Chapter 402 Threatening Suicide

Zachary didn't seem to notice the tension and said coolly, "There aren't any good options in Mode City. Why not check out Dreamopolis?"

Frank clenched his teeth and sneered, "Mr. Bailey's got a point. Rodolfo, later, make a list of all the top young guys in Dreamopolis, but leave out Mr. Bailey."

Then he turned to Winona and said, "You could go on two dates a day. You can take your time to choose what you like."

This kind of mindset was dangerous for Winona, or he'd have to keep an eye on her constantly. Zachary cut in, "Maybe Winona's mom left because of your dating advice."

Frank was livid.

Seeing Winona's curious look, he realized he was in trouble.

Frank sighed, "Winona, the reason your mom and I split is complicated. It's not something I can explain quickly."

It was all in the past, and Winona's mom had been gone for ten years. The breakup details didn't matter anymore. She was more worried about Grace and asked, "How do you know Grace won't go to Pomegranate Hill today?"

Frank handed her a document, saying, "Grace's real name is Annette. She came from a poor family, with parents who favored their son. After middle school, she worked in a factory to support her brother's education. Ten years ago, she met Kyle while working as a waitress and became his mistress, but that only lasted a month. Kyle rarely saw her, so my people didn't find out."

A woman with just a middle school education and a brief fling with Kyle, who had many connections, was hard to trace. But starting with Grace was easier.

He told Winona what he had heard at Kyle's villa, saying, "That woman is most likely Grace. She's in Dreamopolis. I don't know when she arrived, but I had someone watching the villa and never saw her come out. She must be under house arrest."

Even if Kyle wanted to kill someone, he wouldn't do it so openly in his own villa. So Grace must still be alive, but given the situation that night, even if she is alive, her condition must be dire.

"So you're not sure if that woman is Grace?" Winona was a bit disappointed. After waiting so long, she thought the truth would come out today, but it was all for nothing. "What if it's not her?"

Wouldn't today be a missed opportunity?

Frank said calmly, "The cemetery management will have someone watching. If she goes, they'll call."

Then he looked at Zachary, saying, "It's pretty simple to find out if the woman in Kyle's villa is Grace. But I don't know if Mr. Bailey is willing to help."

Zachary stayed quiet, thinking, 'So Frank looks down on me but still wants my help?'

Meanwhile, Eva was crying her heart out, "Dad, are you really going to make me marry that guy? That old woman is telling everyone that marrying me will bring good luck to her family. If I marry him and he wakes up, my happiness is gone. If he dies, everyone will know I'm a jinx. Who would dare to marry me then?"

She added, "When Grandpa picked the heir, he said whoever was in charge had to marry their daughter to him. If there wasn't a suitable candidate, they'd look at other families. It was all good when Frank didn't have a daughter, but now I know he does, and she's around my age. He's just biased, scared Winona would end up with that disabled guy, so he never acknowledged her as his daughter."

Kyle's head pounded from her yelling. "Where did you hear that Winona is Frank's daughter?"

It was just her hunch.

But Eva didn't dare admit that. She was terrified of Kyle, not because he was strict, but because when she was ten, she saw him through a crack in the door, smiling one moment and stabbing someone in the stomach the next.

He even complained about the blood staining his new carpet.

Since then, she trembled every time she saw Kyle. Luckily, he was always busy, mostly in Mode City, and rarely came abroad.

"I heard Frank say it myself..."

Before she could finish, a bodyguard burst in, something that had never happened before. Kyle's face darkened. "What's going on?"

They wouldn't dare burst in unless it was an emergency.

The bodyguard said urgently, "Mr. Turner, the police are here. They said they got a report about illegal items in the house and need to search."

Before Kyle could ask more, the lead officer had already entered, holding a search warrant. "Kyle, right? We got a report about illegal items in your house and someone screaming at night. We need to search. Here's the warrant."

He then ordered his team, "Start the search."

This was a forced search, no homeowner consent needed.

Kyle, having been in the business world for years, knew the procedures of the military, government, and business sectors well. This setup was clearly a frame-up.

He went to a corner, took out his phone, and made a call. The person on the other end said they'd look into it. He waited anxiously for a few minutes, but there was no reply.

Kyle couldn't take it anymore. He approached the lead officer, offered him a cigarette, and whispered, "My family is the Turner Family from Mode City. I'm here in Dreamopolis to expand our business. We wouldn't dare do anything illegal. Someone must have framed us with a false report. It's hard work for you. Let me treat you to a meal sometime."

He gave the officer a meaningful look.

The cop remained indifferent, not even taking the cigarette. "Please don't interfere with our work. We'll know if the report is true after the search. We won't wrong an innocent person, but we also won't let a criminal go."

Kyle stayed silent.

They were determined to frame him.

Ten minutes later.

A disheveled, hysterical Grace was brought out by two cops.

A cop said, "We found her in the basement."

Kyle hurriedly explained, "Officer, this is my mistress. She's been depressed lately and suicidal if left alone. I can't watch her all the time, so I lock her in the basement when I go out and let her out when I return."

The cop said, "Take her in. Whether she's a mistress or has depression, we'll find out."
