Chapter 543 Isn't It Exciting

Zachary's expression finally shifted a bit. He eyed Timothy's back. "Where are you taking me?"

"Wherever I go, you go. But for now, just relax. Don't waste the big surprise I've got for you."

As soon as Timothy finished talking, someone punched Zachary in the gut. Already weakened by the drugs, the punch left him completely helpless.

Zachary doubled over, cold sweat dripping down his face as intense pain radiated from his abdomen. He gritted his teeth against the pain. "Timothy, are you planning to ditch your followers and run like a rat in the sewer? Or have you sunk so low that these are the only people you can count on?"

Timothy's face lit up with a smile. "Nicholas, are you worried about me?"

Zachary was speechless.

What a smug jerk.

"The illegal fundraising case must have been filed by now. The cops are probably already hunting me down all over the city. I'm just worried your connections aren't strong enough to get me out, and I'll end up with an extra charge for fleeing."

"Don't worry, I've got it all covered. The cops will be taken care of. We'll leave as soon as the car gets here."

"I'm afraid we won't be able to leave."

Timothy immediately thought Zachary was worried and quickly said, "I've got everything arranged, you don't need to..."

Light shone through the gap in the tightly closed curtains. It was the police lights!

Timothy's face changed, and he turned sharply to look at Zachary. "What do you mean?"

The loud sound of the door being kicked open answered Timothy's question. Two bodyguards burst in, followed by Samuel, who shouldn't have been there.

Trailing behind was the person Timothy had left outside.

The room, already small, was now packed to the brim with people.

Samuel glanced at Zachary, who was clutching his stomach and bent over, and clicked his tongue in disdain. "You're either getting beat up or on your way to getting beat up every day. It's a miracle you're still alive and kicking, thanks to that face of yours that women seem to like."

Zachary stood up from the bed, rubbing his stomach. "I'm making such a big sacrifice just to give you more clues and buy some time."

Talking pulled at the injured spot on his abdomen, causing Zachary to wince in pain. "Damn, it hurts. Did you find anything?"

Samuel gave him an OK gesture. "I have to say, the network was buried pretty deep. If he hadn't used it, it would have been impossible to trace. Your beating was worth it."

Timothy had been listening to their conversation without interrupting. When he received a message and saw its content, he laughed lowly, his chest shaking more and more until he couldn't control it. "So this was all a trap for me?"

He curled his lips into a smile that looked worse than crying. "Nicholas, you tricked me again."

Zachary felt a wave of nausea every time Timothy called him 'Nicholas.' "Seriously, I can't stand you, you lunatic. Stop pretending to be all innocent."

"I tried everything to save you from the illegal fundraising mess, and you used that to investigate my network and even had my house abroad raided," Timothy laughed uncontrollably. "I'm really curious, how did Samuel find this place? I took everything from you, and this place is so hidden."

He had brought in professionally trained people. If they were being followed, they would have noticed during the long journey.

Timothy walked to the window and suddenly pulled the curtains open.

This was a residential house in the suburbs, far from Dreamopolis, abandoned for years, surrounded by tall weeds.

In such a remote place, with people patrolling the area, not even a fly could get in. He couldn't understand how Samuel had managed to sneak in with his people.

"Samuel, I've always been curious. If I can't figure something out, it really bothers me," Timothy said with a boyish smile. "I'm really curious how you avoided my people and snuck in. Care to enlighten me?"

Samuel was genuinely helpful. "Maybe we didn't sneak in. Maybe we were already in the building."

"So you found this place long ago and were just waiting for me?"

This was a four-story building with five rooms and a living room on each floor. It used to house factory workers. Now abandoned, it was remote and dilapidated, even wild dogs didn't come here. So he hadn't searched every room, just brought Zachary to the room he had stayed in before.

As he spoke, Timothy's gaze was fixed on Zachary. "Nicholas, you planned this all along, waiting for me to make a move so you could pretend to fall for it. How does it feel to play me?"

Zachary ignored him and frowned at Samuel. "Why aren't the police coming up?"

"They won't be coming up," Timothy said, holding a device that looked like a remote control. "Since I can't leave, everyone stays. Your people are in this building, right? I've planted bombs in every corner. They're homemade, not very powerful, but there's enough to bring down this old building. If I can't escape, I'll take a few people with me."

Zachary's face changed. He didn't doubt Timothy's words. "Timothy, I'm the one you hate. Don't involve innocent people."

Timothy couldn't help but laugh. "Nicholas, you said it yourself, I'm a lunatic. Have you ever seen a lunatic care about not involving others? Lunatics love to see others suffer. The more pain, the happier I am."

Zachary was silent.

Samuel was silent.

Both of them wanted to curse Timothy in their heads.

Timothy casually played with his phone. "But for your sake, I'll give you a chance. Call Winona and have her come here. If she comes, I'll let Samuel and the others go."

He stared at Zachary with excitement. "Choosing between your friend and your lover, isn't it thrilling?"
