Chapter 19 Aftermath
Winona winced in pain as Zachary pinched her. She tried to turn away, but how could she withstand the strength in the man's grip? Seeing that she remained silent, Zachary leaned closer, anger swirling in his eyes.
But he suppressed it forcefully, and his boiling anger couldn't be perceived by just looking at his expression.
Even his voice was gentler than usual.
He approached Winona and spoke slowly and restrainedly "What kind of person is Tim that you have to seek help from strangers? Is Mrs. Bailey's status not good enough? Or you disdain to use it?"
"Zachary, you're hurting me." Winona was still trying to break free from his grasp, but her attempts were in vain. Instead, her skin was rubbed by the calluses on his fingertips, causing a burning pain. She didn't know if it teared the skin.
She furrowed her brows impatiently and said, "We're getting divorced, and it has nothing to do with anyone I seek help from!"
"Divorced? Are you willing to? Half a month ago, when you seduced me while undressing, didn't you say we should live happily together forever?"
This kind of thing was playful in bed, but when said so explicitly, it became a blatant humiliation.
It felt like Winona had been slapped hard; the blood drained from her face, but she didn't show any weakness in front of this man. Instead, she provocatively curled her lips and said, "Yeah, after all, in these three years of marriage, you always acted indifferent. For my future happiness, I need to verify whether you're capable or not. Fortunately, I did verify it, so I made up my mind to divorce."
Zachary tightened his grip, "Didn't you enjoy it before we got married?"
"That time, didn't you spike the drink? To ensure nothing went wrong, I used a high dosage. Now it proves that you can't perform without it." Winona was truly drunk, seeing multiple faces of Zachary in front of her, all blurry. She couldn't even make out his features, let alone his expression.
She heard herself speaking out words unconsciously, without knowing the content herself.
Meanwhile, Zachary's nerves were tight, and the fire in his heart burned hotter and hotter. He almost gritted his teeth and said, "Winona, you are truly something!"
He opened the car door and got out, pulling Winona, who had collapsed on the seat, down. He headed straight to the hotel on the upper floors of the Night Club.
He was the owner here and had an exclusive suite upstairs.
The elevator stopped at the 24th floor, an entire floor under his domain. To enter, one needed to scan their fingerprints. Zachary took Winona into the room without any courtesy and threw her onto the bed.
Looking down from above, he saw the woman curled up on the bed, almost falling asleep. His expressionless face grew darker. He slowly took off his suit, followed by unbuttoning his shirt, revealing his tight and muscular body.
Even when engaged in such activities, this scion of a prestigious family remained elegant, showing not a hint of urgency.
Zachary initially hadn't planned to do anything to Winona, but this woman... was truly out of control!
Meanwhile, Winona had been dragged by Zachary like a sack of burlap. Now, she felt dizzy and nauseous, but she was completely weak and couldn't summon any strength while lying down.
She felt pain on both sides of her cheeks and thought about how Zachary had just...
The cruelty of fate made her burst into tears of frustration. At moments like this, people's hearts tend to be fragile, and they are more likely to think of those people they would rather not mention when they are clear-headed.
Zachary's heart softened when he saw her crying. He half-knelt on the bed, intending to carry her to the bathroom, but then Winona murmured, "Matthew..."
The atmosphere in the room became instantly heavy with just those two words.
Even the tiniest spark could ignite a violent explosion.
Zachary looked at her with deep, dark eyes and spoke slowly after a long pause, "What did you say?"
His voice was devoid of warmth, not menacing, but only those who knew him well could truly understand that this version of Zachary was even more terrifying than when he was angry.
Winona kept her eyes closed, she seemed asleep, and indeed, she was asleep.
Zachary held her chin, forcefully waking her up. "Winona, who did you just call?"
Still groggy, she looked at him with tearful eyes and hoarsely replied, "Matthew... I should've listened to you back then, I shouldn't have married Zachary, I regret it, I regret it so much..."
Zachary's gaze fell on Winona, his eyes unfathomable. "Regret?"
Silence.
In the quiet room, only the woman's low sobbing could be heard, whether from pain or grievance, it was unclear.
The man's palm roamed forcefully on her slim waist, leaving red marks in its wake. "You didn't regret it for three years, now that Matthew is back, you suddenly regret it?"
Winona was partially awakened by the pain coursing through her body, but her head was still dizzy.
It took her a while to recognize the man in front of her, and she quickly frowned, trying to move away. "Zachary, don't touch me."
Zachary's restrained anger was completely ignited by her words. Ignoring Winona's resistance, he grabbed her ankle and pulled her over, pressing her beneath him. "Don't let me touch you? Who are you planning to let touch you? Matthew? Or the man you've been giving money to?"
"Winona, you used my money to support another man. If you were going to support someone, couldn't you have chosen better?" His finger traced her cheek, descending along her neck, as he uttered words of humiliation, one by one. "If you had shown such determination from the beginning, maybe I would've had sex with you, and I wouldn't even bother to spare you a glance when you threw yourself at me before."
Leaning over her, Zachary pressed his lips against hers. The vile mockery in his words remained unchanged despite the intimate contact. "That man is over forty, right? You've been lonely for three years, can he still satisfy you in bed?"
Winona's lips trembled as if she wanted to say something, but her voice was too faint, and the enraged man couldn't hear it at all.
With an expression of discomfort, she turned her head to the side. Unfazed, Zachary reached out and forcefully turned her face back, holding her chin. "Why? Don't want to see me? Or did I hit the mark..."
"Ugh!"
Unable to endure any longer, Winona vomited all over Zachary.
