Chapter 165 Smart Woman

Whose bathroom would be larger than their bedroom and filled with various leisure activities?

If the person was poor, we usually called it nonsense.

If the person was wealthy, we called it the taste and elegance of the rich.

Brock, being a notorious womanizer, was exceptionally skilled in this area.

So, their bathroom was also quite unique.

Steven was a very polite person.

So, he didn't ask Nora to let him check her upon entering.

But for safety's sake, even though he was extremely reluctant to do so, he had to carefully inspect her to ensure she wasn't carrying any poison or weapons.

However, he would let Nora take a bath first to clean herself up.

This was a sign of respect for the actress he once admired.

But the necessary procedures had to be followed; no one could be an exception.

In the bathroom, Nora turned on the faucet, letting the hot water flow over her entire body.

She exhaled a long breath.

'A hot bath, it's been so long!'

People usually didn't think much of it.

Only when they lost it did they realize how precious it is.

Especially for a woman who loved beauty and cleanliness, not being able to bathe was akin to torture.

The bathroom was spacious, over 800 square feet, with a massive gold-plated jacuzzi in the center that looked like a fish pond.

She stood under the shower, letting the hot water wash over her body.

It had been a long time since she had bathed.

The hot water soaked her hair, and she tilted her head back to wash her delicate and beautiful face.

It was comfortable, warm, and irresistible.

But while she was bathing, her mind didn't stop.

Since entering this villa, she had been thinking about what to do next.

Seeing Steven appear in this neighborhood, she decided to take a gamble in her desperate situation.

The only price she could pay was her body, which countless men dreamed of.

In the face of life and death, many things could be abandoned.

Fortunately, after seeing Steven, she felt much more at ease.

Steven, though exuding a dangerous aura, was handsome, tall, and very manly.

He wasn't some ugly old man.

This made Nora feel much more balanced.

'If it's this man, spending some time with him might not be such a loss,' Nora thought with a helpless smile.

If she had a choice, she would rather not have to do this.

Although she was in the entertainment industry, she wasn't one of those women who climbed up through unspoken rules.

The Yoder family was quite prominent in Yale City, and she had reached her current position entirely through her own ability and family background.

Even though she had been married once, her body and spirit were clean.

'I've decided. I need to talk to him and ask him to let me stay here for a while.' Nora bit her lip and said with difficulty, "I'm prepared to make some sacrifices."

"It's just a transaction," she murmured to herself.

Nora hugged her body tightly, tilting her head back to let the hot water flow over her face.

"I just need someone to protect me and give me food and a comfortable place to stay."

"Once the snowstorm is over, I'll cut ties with him."

"As long as no one knows, I'll still be that dazzling star."

Nora whispered, her eyes becoming resolute.

After a while, Nora came out of the bathroom.

Still damp, her wet hair draped over her shoulders like a delicateflower just out of the water.

"Steven, can you let me stay here?" Nora asked pitifully.

"A weak woman like me can't survive alone in such harsh conditions."

"So, I need a man to protect me."

"Don't worry. I won't trouble you for long. Once the snowstorm is over, I'll leave, and this memory will be just between us."

Sincerity was the ultimate weapon.

Nora could tell that Steven wasn't an easy man to fool, so she directly explained her predicament, hoping to gain his protection.

Steven raised an eyebrow after hearing her out, appreciating Nora's approach.

"You're a smart woman, and that's good," he said.

Steven hated stupid women because they were often overly sympathetic, which annoyed him.

A smart woman like Nora, who knew how to use her body to trade for survival conditions, made things much easier for Steven.

This way, he could avoid the pretense of discussing feelings.

All he needed was to fulfill his fan fantasies of being close to his idol and to add some liveliness to this empty house.

Both Nora and Elinor were intelligent beauties.

With them around, Steven's life wouldn't be boring.

Even playing cards would be more fun with three people.

It was a fair trade.

Steven really liked this.

When he was with Elinor, he still had to occasionally cater to her girlish heart and sweet-talk her.

But Nora was a very rational woman!

Everyone got what they needed, which was very convenient.

However, there was one thing she was probably too naive about.

"You plan to leave after the snowstorm?" Steven smiled and shook his head.

"Let's not even talk about whether this long snowstorm will ever end." He continued, "Even if the ice age passes, do you think the world will go back to the way it was?"

Nora bit her lip, a hint of longing in her eyes. "The world will go back to the way it was!"

She turned to look at the heavy snow outside.

"If the world doesn't go back to the way it was, wouldn't all my efforts over the years be in vain?" she said.

She was used to being a big star, adored by everyone.

Steven shrugged, indifferent.

It didn't matter.

Even if one day Nora really wanted to leave, Steven would at most reminisce about the happy times they had together.

There were plenty of obedient and sensible girls outside; he wouldn't be hung up on anyone's departure.

In the apocalypse, he just wanted to live in the moment.

Since he understood Nora's thoughts, Steven didn't waste time building a relationship.

"Alright, I agree. But in my house, you have to follow my rules. That's the basic principle," he explained.

When Steven mentioned this, he was still serious. No matter who the woman in front of him was, his principles wouldn't change.
