Chapter 540 The Final Battle 6
Natasha grew increasingly agitated as her prolonged assault on Steven yielded no results. In her frustration, she found herself longing for Neil's presence. Back then, she had only needed to serve as Snowfall Cult's symbolic figurehead, spending her days in worship and prayer.
"Neil, if you were still here, you'd know how to handle this nuisance," she sighed inwardly. Suddenly, inspiration struck her. She had allowed Steven to entangle her due to impatience. What would Neil do in this situation?
With newfound clarity, Natasha abandoned her attack on Steven and flew toward the distance, intending to target Henry and the others instead. Attack what he must protect—then Steven would reveal vulnerabilities!
"Getting smarter, are you?" Steven's eyes flashed, though his lips curled with mockery. Only then did Natasha realize Henry and his companions had long since disappeared—all part of Steven's plan. While she had been fixated on their battle, they had escaped unnoticed.
Only Megan's group remained nearby. Seeing Natasha charging toward them, their faces paled with terror.
Natasha cast a hateful glance back at Steven, who maintained his indifferent expression. He wouldn't risk himself to save these people—Natasha could kill them if she wished.
However, to attack Theron and Megan, Natasha would have to turn her back on Steven—creating the perfect opportunity for him to strike! "Truly infuriating!" The composed serenity vanished from Natasha's face.
Despite possessing overwhelming power, she had no answer for Steven's bug-like defensive abilities. He was like a battle-hardened turtle—completely encased in an impenetrable shell, yet hiding a venomous snake within, ready to strike at the first opening.
Natasha forced herself to calm down. Though lacking combat experience, she had learned much during this fight.
She had identified the characteristics of Steven's defensive capabilities: first, they were limited in range. His spatial travel restricted to within 1000 feet, while his Dimensional Shield only protected the space immediately surrounding him.
To defeat him would require large-scale area attacks with tremendous power—a tactic she had been using without success. Suddenly, a new idea flashed through Natasha's mind.
Her eyes gradually turned crimson as her hair floated without wind. Centered around her, an ocean of flames erupted, transforming into hundreds of fire dragons that surged toward Steven!
High temperature was impossible to avoid—but Steven wore a combat suit specifically designed to withstand temperatures up to thousands of degrees for short periods.
Steven blocked the frontal assault with his Dimensional Shield, but in the next moment, the massive fire dragons curved around him and plunged violently into the ground below!
"What?" Steven frowned. If she wasn't attacking him directly, what was her objective?
The enormous fire dragons burrowed into the ground, instantly releasing dense white smoke. The ice and snow covering the area melted into thick vapor, obscuring Steven's vision.
"Playing the ambush game, are we?" Steven became alert as he found himself in what felt like a misty valley, unable to see anything.
The surrounding temperature rose steadily. Steven attempted to flee the area, but the massive space around him had been affected by the heat, filled with white fog. He couldn't even determine direction anymore.
The sound of rushing water reached his ears as a massive lake formed on the ground below. Before his eyes, an extraordinary sight appeared—countless water droplets rapidly rising into the air, surrounding him and filling the entire space.
"Not good!" Steven instantly recognized the danger. Even with spatial travel, he couldn't escape the range covered by these water droplets. The floating droplets multiplied, forming an expansive aerial river!
From high above, Natasha exhaled toward the ground below. A white mist emerged from her mouth, quickly transforming into a massive Ice Blizzard! The river instantly began to freeze, completely solidifying within two seconds.
As the temperature dropped, the mist crystallized into ice particles and fell away. As the fog dispersed, an unimaginable sight appeared on the battlefield—a gigantic cubic ice block stood at the center, stretching thousands of feet in each direction!
Natasha's eyes revealed a hint of fatigue. Even with her current power, deploying Supernatural abilities at such scale consumed tremendous energy. Yet her lips curved into a satisfied smile. "No matter how good you are at dodging, you can't escape an attack of this magnitude!"
However, just as she finished speaking, a door opened above the massive ice block.
Steven emerged, exhaling deeply before looking skyward with an amused expression. "That combination technique was quite clever—just useless against me!"
The extradimensional space lacked suitable living conditions—a purely blank zone without even air. Yet briefly entering it wouldn't cause death, making it perfect for temporarily avoiding attacks. Steven had used this property to evade Natasha's technique.
Natasha froze, her eyes churning like dark tides. After finally devising this strategy only to still fail at capturing Steven, she felt herself beginning to break down!
"Steven! I refuse to believe I can't kill you!" The devout follower of divinity, the aloof leader of Snowfall Cult, now resembled nothing more than an ordinary twenty-year-old girl in her frustration.
Just as she prepared to attack again, a powerful sense of discomfort rose from her mind, her vision beginning to blur. Natasha frowned, rubbing her forehead dismissively.
This subtle change, however, didn't escape Steven's notice.
His lips curled into a smile as he arrogantly beckoned to Natasha. "Come on! Kill me if you can! By the way, that wound in Neil's chest? I put it there." At these words, Natasha's expression twisted into something savage.
"Very well—then I'll send you down to accompany him!" While speaking, Steven continued eating, constantly replenishing his rapidly depleting Supernatural ability. "Let us see what happens next!"
