Chapter 538 The Final Battle 4

Steven and Lanny's combined ultimate attack had finally caused Natasha to show signs of fatigue.

Yet the situation remained dire. Everyone except Steven had suffered injuries ranging from moderate to severe.

Lanny was completely spent, incapable of continuing the fight.

Blood poured from Megan's mouth despite her Inferno Forge-hardened battle armor failing to fully shield her from the annihilation wave's aftermath.

Leonard was essentially out of commission with his severed arm.

Only Steven and Theron remained standing. But how could just the two of them defeat the nearly invincible Natasha?

Pure, absolute despair engulfed them. This was the crushing difference between high-level Psychics and those beneath them.

Had Otha not been killed, Theron might have even considered recruiting Natasha to join Silvercrest District.

But he couldn't do that now—it would betray the comrades who had fought and died alongside him.

"Why struggle so futilely?" Natasha's voice descended like a deity's proclamation. "It only increases your suffering. Why not let me end your lives quietly? You'll find release that way."

She could see these fighters no longer posed any real threat. Even Steven's peculiar ability, Martial Prowess, couldn't penetrate her [Oblivion].

Natasha savored this sensation of overwhelming power—this ability to control and destroy everything felt intoxicating.

Beyond the battlefield, several investigation squad members could no longer bear to watch.

Though their abilities weren't suited for fighting Natasha, they couldn't stand by while their comrades were slaughtered. Only Lily and her group remained hidden behind a massive boulder, watching Steven with complete trust.

"Steven, who fears death more than anyone," Lily whispered, "would never fight without a plan. He must have something up his sleeve!"

As if on cue, Steven finally spoke. He sighed softly and addressed Theron and the others, "Well, it seems you've all reached your limit."

"You've accomplished less than I hoped, but I suppose it's enough."

His arrogant tone left everyone stunned.

True, they acknowledged Steven's Martial Prowess provided significant pressure against Natasha. But in their minds, Steven's strength lay in defense, not offense.

In a one-on-one fight, Natasha would have eliminated him within seconds.

They couldn't understand this sudden shift in his attitude.

Steven waved his hand dismissively while keeping his eyes locked on Natasha. "All of you, leave now! I'll take control of this battlefield from here."

Everything had unfolded exactly as Steven had initially calculated. The purpose of these Psychics had been to help him deplete Natasha's power as much as possible.

Perhaps from the beginning, he never expected them to defeat her.

Theron stared at Steven in disbelief. "Steven... you're not joking, are you?"

"Do I look like I'm joking?" Steven replied calmly.

Of course he didn't. Nobody would seek death in such circumstances.

They also didn't believe Steven was the type to nobly sacrifice himself to give others a chance to escape.

Since Steven had spoken so decisively, they could only trust him.

"We're counting on you, then!" Megan and Leonard didn't hesitate, dragging their injured bodies away from the battlefield.

Sebastian glanced at Steven and bit his lip. "Steven, you're our last hope!"

He gathered his remaining Supernatural ability and channeled it entirely into Steven, enhancing his strength, speed, and sensory perception to extraordinary levels.

Natasha made no move to stop the others from leaving. If she wished, no one in Starlight City could escape her.

She was merely curious about Steven's attitude, wondering what he planned to do.

Theron delivered the nearly lifeless Lanny to safety but returned to the battlefield himself. Though injured, he could still function and refused to abandon the fight.

Steven didn't object—if Theron was willing to stay, so be it. Not that Steven expected much help from him at this point.

Theron suddenly tossed a black pistol to Steven, who immediately recognized it as their captain Otha's sidearm.

Steven frowned slightly. "A gun?"

"It still has about twenty Mutant Bullets left," Theron explained.

The name "Mutant Bullet" sparked Steven's interest. These specialized rounds were designed specifically to combat Psychics and could pose a genuine threat even to Natasha.

"Very well, I'll take it."

Steven looked up at Natasha, narrowing his eyes. "Everything should come to an end now, shouldn't it?"

Natasha's lips curved into a slight smile as she hovered in midair, surrounded by a halo of divine light. "What gives you such confidence?"

"Steven, you understand nothing about true power! I haven't even used my full strength yet!"

She spread her arms wide as an immense storm of Supernatural ability formed around her. "I'm finally adapting to the multitude of abilities within me!"

"Don't worry—soon I'll kill you too and take your power for myself!"

With Natasha at its center, an even more terrifying tempest erupted. The ground beneath Steven and Theron shattered more violently, countless stone fragments floating upward.

Theron utilized his agility to leap away, stepping from one massive boulder to another in midair, attempting to attack Natasha.

Her eyes flashed with deadly intent as she extended her left hand toward him. A massive wave of Telekinesis sent him flying backward!

Even the strongest Strengthening System users couldn't fully employ their abilities while airborne.

Steven ignored Theron's predicament. When the ground began to shake, he flickered through space and appeared directly across from Natasha.

The vector direction of the extradimensional space wasn't affected by outside forces.

As long as Steven controlled the direction of his "doors" properly, he could teleport anywhere within a 1000-foot radius, even hovering in midair.

Natasha swept her right hand, and a black tornado thousands of feet long descended like the sword of Damocles, thrusting viciously toward Steven!

But Steven didn't even attempt to dodge. Standing on the ruins of a building, he simply extended his right hand.

The black tornado completely vanished into Steven's Dimension Door.

A moment later, a second door opened to Natasha's right, and the tornado she had just unleashed reversed course to attack her!

Natasha demolished the massive tornado with a mere glance.

"Dimension Door, is it? Then can you handle this?" she asked coldly.

In the next instant, hundreds of hurricane-formed spears materialized from every direction around Steven, converging on his position in a single devastating moment!
