Chapter 310 Deciding to Counterattack!

After checking out the intel on the West Mountain Base's Psychics, Steven crossed his arms and started thinking hard.

Their combat squad was just him, Earl, Henry, and Fluffy.

The other side had six Psychics, and from what the intel said, each one was pretty powerful.

Even Mason, who seemed like the weakest, had fire abilities that were super dangerous in the tight spaces of the West Mountain Base.

But it wasn't all doom and gloom.

If they could get Lily on their side, Steven might actually have a shot at taking down the West Mountain Base. He'd seen Lily's strength up close.

Steven thought, 'To pull this off, two things need to happen. First, we gotta make sure the missile Peter called in hits the West Mountain Base dead-on, causing chaos and maybe even a temporary shutdown. Second, we need to get Lily on our team so we're not outnumbered. Besides these two must-haves, we also need a solid plan to make sure that even if things go south, I don't end up dead—that's the most important thing!'

Steven went over the info again and again, memorizing everyone's abilities.

That way, if he ran into them later, he'd know how to handle it.

Aside from their team setup, the West Mountain Base had some serious weaponry.

But that wasn't a huge deal.

If Steven could hit the base during the chaos, the special forces wouldn't be able to use big weapons in the cramped underground space.

Then Steven's Dimension Door could handle the regular soldiers' weapons just fine.

'So, the big question is, how do I sneak in, plant the explosives, and get out without a scratch?' Steven sat in his chair, frowning, deep in thought.

Aubrey saw Steven's frown and cheerfully suggested, "Steven, if you're stuck, why not talk it over with everyone?"

Cindy scoffed. "If we're gonna talk, it should be with us. What can we figure out with them?"

Smart people often have low emotional intelligence.

Aubrey laughed and said, "Not necessarily! What if they have good ideas that can spark something for you?"

Steven thought for a moment and then smiled. "You're right, I was actually planning to do that."

Whether to attack the West Mountain Base, he already knew the answer in his heart.

But he knew he had to be more careful to up his chances of success.

To pull this off, he needed Earl and Henry on board—though Steven was pretty sure they'd back him, it was still better to ask them directly.

"Alright, let's have a meeting!" Steven walked out of his room and called everyone in the safe house to the living room.

He laid out his plan in front of everyone.

"We've got a rare shot at taking down West Mountain Base. I think we all know that it's either them or us; only one can stay on this land. I'm not one to pick fights, but I won't let anyone push us around. This time, we have to fight! But I can't do it alone, so I need your help. What do you all think?"

Hearing Steven's plan, everyone had different reactions.

Some were pumped, some were thinking hard, and some looked worried.

Steven noticed everyone's reactions.

But honestly, he didn't care much about most of their opinions; he mainly wanted to hear from Earl and Henry.

After all, they were the key fighters.

"Henry, you're the oldest here. What's your take?" Steven asked.

Henry nodded.

Sitting on the sofa with his hands clasped, he said seriously, "The West Mountain Base took a big hit at Emerald Estate. There's no making peace now."

"Instead of waiting to get wiped out, we should strike first! We've got a good chance to use their missile to create chaos. I think we should go for it!"

Henry looked up at Steven with determination. "Steven, I owe you a lot. If you want to hit the West Mountain Base, I'm in!"

Henry and Steven exchanged smiles. Steven trusted Henry completely, knowing he'd have his back.

After all, Henry was a man who paid his debts.

Steven turned to Earl and asked, "Earl, what about you?"

Compared to Henry, Earl was more hesitant.

He was always a bit timid and cautious. Hearing about the fight with the West Mountain Base made him anxious.

Earl asked, "Can we really beat them? They've got so many Psychics and an army. Plus, they've got more weapons than us."

Steven said calmly, "Don't worry about that. We won't be outnumbered in terms of Psychics. As for the regular soldiers, I'll handle them. You know what I can do, right?"

Steven looked down at Earl on the sofa, feeling the urge to punch him.

Steven thought he was cautious, but he didn't expect someone even more timid and cautious than himself.

"And don't forget how many people from Cox Town died because of them. Don't you want to avenge your folks?" Steven pressed.

Earl scratched his head. "Honestly... it's not that big of a deal. I wasn't really close to the people in the village anyway."

Steven's facial muscles twitched, and he felt an urge to pull Earl's chubby face.

Before Steven could say anything else, Earl looked up and said, "But Captain Rogers, since you want to fight, I'll fight with you!"

Steven looked at him in surprise. "You agreed so quickly?"

Earl sighed. "Following you, I don't have to worry about food or anything else. If you die, living alone in this apocalypse wouldn't mean much to me. What's important in life is choosing the right side, and I've decided to take a gamble!"

Earl raised his fist, his eyes clear for the first time.

Although Earl was a bit timid, at least he wasn't stupid.

He knew that following Steven, he had to contribute; otherwise, why would Steven keep him around?

Steven smiled and nodded. "Alright, in that case, it's decided! We'll fight the West Mountain Base!"

Henry and Earl nodded. "That's right!"

The other women didn't express any opinions from start to finish.

Girls like Cindy and Aubrey, fueled by their youthful enthusiasm, were quick to support Steven's quest for revenge against West Mountain Base.

As for Emilia, Elinor, and Nora, they were a bit worried, but since Steven, Henry, and Earl had made up their minds, they had no choice but to support them.

Earl nervously said to Steven, "Captain Rogers, you must plan this operation carefully!"

"Don't worry, I don't want to die early either." Steven raised an eyebrow with a smirk. "Let's get this battle meeting underway! I need to fill you in on the enemies we're up against and lay out my strategy."

Henry said, "I can help with that. After all, I received professional military training back in the army."

"Then it's settled!" Steven said, looking at Cindy, "Cindy, you introduce the basic situation of the West Mountain Base to Henry and Earl. Just the stuff I was looking at earlier, so they can understand."

They needed to know the internal structure of the West Mountain Base, as well as the opponents' strength and supernatural abilities.

Cindy nodded. "Alright. You two, please follow me!"

Cindy took the two to learn about the various intelligence on the West Mountain Base.

Meanwhile, Steven stepped aside and pulled out his phone to contact Lily.

If they were going to hit the West Mountain Base, they had to think about everything that could affect the outcome.

First, they needed to time the missile strike perfectly to create chaos.

Then, Steven needed a full understanding of the West Mountain Base's layout.

With that info, they could use explosives to take out key facilities and wipe out everyone inside.

A crucial part of the plan was getting Lily to help from the inside, creating even more chaos.

Plus, Lily herself was a powerful fighter.

Lily's cooperation was a certainty.

She needed Steven's help, so she had no reason to say no.

Steven took out his phone and sent a message to Lily: [Thanks for helping us out. I'll keep my promise to help you escape. Hide in a safe place by midnight tomorrow. There will be an opportunity for you to get out. We'll be outside to assist, so escape as soon as you can.]

After sending the message, Steven waited a long time before getting a response from Lily.

She had to be careful at the West Mountain Base and couldn't just use the special phone card to contact Steven whenever.

Lily: [Are you bringing people to help us? That's great! I'll be ready. But can you tell me your plan so I can cooperate with you?]

Steven could sense Lily's excitement.

Steven said, "The West Mountain Base's network is under our control, so you don't need to worry about communication security."

"In short, there will be changes at the West Mountain Base at midnight tomorrow. You'll understand the situation then. As for what you'll need to do, we'll notify you."

Steven didn't tell Lily the detailed battle plan.

Lily was indecisive, and if she knew Steven planned to blow up the West Mountain Base, she might not agree.

After all, that would mean the deaths of thousands of people inside the West Mountain Base!

So, for safety reasons, Steven didn't plan to reveal the entire plan.

Lily had no choice but to say, "Alright, we'll find a safe place to hide before midnight and wait for you to join us."

"Okay, it's settled then." Steven put away his phone and walked into Cindy's room to discuss the battle plan with Earl and Henry.
