Chapter 61 Elinor Can't Take It Anymore
The next day, Steven heard gunshots in the hallway.
Two shots rang out.
It was undoubtedly Andrew who made the move.
Apparently, Steven's words yesterday had an effect.
In the face of desperation, people's fear of death began to slowly disappear.
Steven's promise of a week's worth of pasta was an irresistible temptation for them.
Steven turned on the surveillance and saw the scene of the conflict breaking out.
Two men holding wrenches and kitchen knives lay on the ground, blood staining the hallway red.
But Andrew wasn't unscathed either; he leaned against the wall, holding a gun, looking shaken.
They intercepted people fetching water here, and naturally, others could use this opportunity to retaliate against them.
Andrew ordered his subordinates to drag the two bodies away, while he quickly followed them back to his house.
A handgun was tightly gripped in Andrew's hand; it was now his last reliance.
The two bodies were dragged back home, and Andrew signaled to his subordinates, who immediately dragged the bodies to the back of the kitchen.
Andrew's gaze was sinister; sitting on the cold sofa did little to warm him.
After returning yesterday, he saw the messages in the group chat and knew that Steven had put a bounty on him.
It made him furious.
He considered himself the hunter, and Steven was merely the prey!
How could the prey dare to retaliate against the hunter?
However, he underestimated the madness of people in desperation.
Early this morning, two desperate young men came to take his life.
This made Andrew feel a sense of crisis, but at the same time, it made him even crazier!
"Go to hell, I'll kill you all! You want me dead, then you'll die first!"
Andrew roared.
After calming down, he suddenly felt some pain in his back. So Andrew called over a subordinate to check it out.
The subordinate took a look and immediately shouted, "Mr. Jenkins, you got stabbed in the back!"
Andrew's down jacket had a 12-inch cut from the kitchen knife, and the blood wasn't very visible on the black jacket; he had to look closely to see it.
Just now, because it was too cold outside and Andrew's adrenaline was pumping, he didn't feel the pain from the wound.
Now, hearing his subordinate's words, he immediately cried out in pain.
"Those idiots, how dare they ambush me! "
Sweat beaded on his forehead, and he quickly picked up his phone to call Elinor.
"Mrs. Kelly, I'm hurt. Come over and bandage me up!"
Shortly after, Elinor arrived at Andrew's house with her medical kit.
Elinor looked at this ruthless killer, her eyes filled with disgust.
But to stay alive, she had no choice but to treat his wounds.
Actually, the reason why Andrew's arrow wound didn't flare up before was because she had treated it.
Although she was unwilling, faced with the barrel of a gun, she had no choice.
"I'm not helping you for free." Elinor said coldly.
Andrew laughed and pointed to the kitchen, "I'll give you a share of the food later!"
Elinor sniffed hard and caught the pungent smell of blood.
Her face changed. Having worked in a hospital for many years, she knew exactly what that smell was.
Elinor suppressed her urge to vomit and said coldly, "No need."
Andrew laughed, "At this point, Mrs. Kelly, still so self-righteous? Sooner or later, you'll eat it. If you don't, you'll die!"
"I'd rather die."
Elinor frowned.
"I can't bear to let that happen! In this world now, having a doctor around is too important."
Andrew sighed.
If Elinor hadn't treated his leg wound back then, he would have lost more than just a leg; he would have lost his life!
"Don't worry, if it ever comes to it, I'll save you for last." Andrew stared at Elinor, a lustful glint in his eyes.
He had long coveted this beautiful woman.
If it weren't for her usefulness, he would have raped her already.
Elinor frowned and said nothing more, focusing on treating his wound.
Soon, the wound was simply bandaged.
Elinor picked up her medical kit and was about to leave.
But Andrew gave a signal to his subordinate, who immediately blocked the door.
Elinor's heart skipped a beat, "What are you doing?"
Andrew said, "Take it easy, you can't leave until my wound heals."
At this moment, Andrew was also scared.
He didn't know how many people wanted him dead, and he was short on medicine.
Having a doctor around made him feel secure.
Ignoring Elinor's resistance, he forcibly kept her there.
Before long, his subordinate brought over a pot of cooked food.
Elinor almost gagged at the thought of what it might be.
Luckily, her years of working in a hospital and dealing with dead bodies kept her from being too frightened.
Andrew offered her some food, but she refused.
Andrew sneered and ignored her.
He thought Elinor was just pretending to be noble; sooner or later, when she got hungry enough, she would eat.
"We need to take action. These useless fools dare to resist now; it's bad for us."
"We need to kill Steven and take over his house; only then will we be safe."
"His place is like a fortress, and it's stocked with supplies, enough to last us for months. By then, the snowstorm might be over."
"So, we need to figure out how to deal with Steven." Andrew told his subordinates.
They exchanged worried glances.
"Mr. Jenkins, we've attacked Steven's house several times, but we've failed every time."
"His place is like a turtle shell; we can't break in!" they grumbled.
Andrew said, "I don't believe his place has no weaknesses, and I don't believe he never leaves!"
"Let's move next door to his place and keep watch in shifts. As soon as we get a chance, we'll kill him!"
"And it's safer to live in the high floors."
The group, feeling lost, nodded in agreement with whatever Andrew said.
Elinor listened to their conversation.
She used the excuse of going to the bathroom to send a message to Steven, informing him of the situation.
,Upon learning this, Steven smiled indifferently.
They wanted him to come out? That was absolutely impossible!
"Got it. Stay there and keep observing." Steven replied.
Elinor was a doctor; Andrew wouldn't kill her, so she wasn't in immediate danger.
Steven wasn't in a hurry to act. With the bounty he set, someone would eventually risk their life to kill Andrew.
Andrew and his men packed up their supplies and moved to the 24th floor, taking Elinor with them.
The young couple living next to Steven were terrified when they found out Andrew had moved in.
