Chapter 433 Taking the Initiative

Everyone was startled by the sudden appearance of the grotesque face, especially the more timid women, who couldn't help but scream.

Elinor and Nora clung tightly to Steven, desperately leaning into him.

Because this wasn't just a horror movie! It was a real zombie!

And the video abruptly ended at that moment.

Everyone was startled, including Steven.

But he wasn't scared; he was just surprised that such a thing suddenly appeared.

"We've been discovered!" Steven said.

But soon, he started laughing, "But this also proves our judgment was correct; that face must belong to the Zombie King! We need to kill it ASAP, or our shelter will continue to face crises."

Earl quickly asked, "But how? There are too many zombies underground. Even if we go in fully armed, who knows how long it will take to clear them all!"

Cindy also mentioned, "And the subway tunnels are interconnected. The Zombie King is intelligent and will escape if it senses something is wrong."

Steven crossed his arms and said in a deep voice, "Indeed, so we have to do it once and for all! Their numbers are never the problem; we can kill them as many as we want. But we must prevent them from escaping. Therefore, we need to plan based on the subway routes!"

Lily suggested, "We can start from the location of Tranquil Vale Town and blow up the tunnels there! That way, we can cut off the zombies' retreat. Our goal is just to kill the Zombie King; as long as it can't escape, that's enough. As for the other zombies, we have many ways to clear them."

Henry crossed his arms and cheerfully said to Steven, "Steven, you decide how to proceed! After all, we have no other choice."

Yes, this battle was unavoidable.

If they didn't take the initiative, sooner or later, the zombies would become more intelligent.

Once the zombie horde understood all their weaknesses, they would launch relentless attacks, and their shelter, no matter how strong, would fall.

Even ants could kill an elephant if there were enough of them!

Steven took a deep breath, leaned back on the soft sofa, and pondered the feasibility of this approach.

After a while, he said, "Get ready; we'll act tomorrow!"

The Zombie King was growing stronger day by day; they couldn't afford any more delays.

It was better to attack while it was strong enough!

This time, the attack team would still be the five of them.

All kinds of equipment were ready: weapons, ammunition, gas masks, and the Supernatural ability food that Nora made every day.

With these supplies, they could sustain a week-long battle underground.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

They didn't want to spend time and effort clearing zombies every day.

But Earl looked at Steven with some concern and said, "Steven, is it really that urgent? This doesn't seem like your style!"

In the past, Steven had always been extremely cautious in everything he did.

This time, Steven's approach seemed a bit reckless to Earl.

They knew nothing about the underground situation; was it really appropriate to just go in like this?

"What if something unexpected happens underground? I mean, we really don't understand the situation down there," Earl added. "What if we've underestimated them?"

Earl, the most afraid of death, was the most cautious. It was an advantage, but also his biggest weakness, which would make him miss many opportunities just because of fear.

Steven smiled mysteriously, walked over, patted Earl on the shoulder, and gave him a confident smile. "Don't worry, I won't joke about your safety."

"I've made thorough preparations; you'll understand when the time comes."

Earl saw Steven's eyes; they were as warm and confident as ever.

Earl's heart settled, and he asked with a grin, "Captain, why so mysterious? Can't you just tell us directly?"

Steven smiled and said, "You just need to know that even in the most dangerous situation, I can get you out."

He wasn't ready to reveal the specifics yet.

Lily tilted her head and looked at Steven, suddenly seeming to understand something. "I get it. In that case, we have nothing to worry about, right?"

Nora sat up from the sofa and said with a smile, "Then I'll go prepare some more food for you!"

Steven nodded. "Sure, the more, the better!"

He had gradually figured out Nora's ability.

Supernatural ability infused into food could help Psychics recover their Supernatural ability and significantly help ordinary people regain their strength.

But it could only be preserved for a week before the Supernatural ability dissipated from the food.

However, once stored in Steven's extradimensional space, this problem was perfectly solved.

So up to now, Steven had Nora use up her Supernatural ability every day to make Supernatural ability food, and his extradimensional space was filled with an unknown amount of it.

This was one of the reasons he dared to lead them into the subway tunnels to fight.

For Steven and his team, things were moving in a positive direction.

At least they had basically grasped the movement patterns of the zombie horde and confirmed the existence of the Zombie King.

But other forces weren't so lucky.

Due to the Zombie King's presence, the zombie horde had a very high learning and evolution ability.

With each attack, their combat power increased, and they adjusted their tactics based on the situation of each force.

Unlike Steven's elite team, the four major forces had many surface buildings to defend, with numerous soldiers, laborers, and slaves, making it hard to deal with the ever-evolving zombies.

The methods that worked in the first battle were less effective in the second. And the zombies were like locusts, never-ending.

After expending great effort to repel an attack one day, they would wake up the next day to find the zombies attacking again!

Megan, Sebastian, and Leonard were all overwhelmed.

If they retreated to underground bases and closed the doors, the zombies couldn't get in.

But they couldn't abandon their refineries, steel mills, and harbor bases; those resources were their lifeblood!

If they abandoned them, they would lose their ability to compete in Starlight City!

As a result, they had to fight desperately, enduring daily zombie attacks.

However, facing the ever-evolving zombie horde, their defenses were becoming increasingly ineffective.

The zombies learned to climb fences, barbed wire couldn't harm their frozen bodies much.

Guns were mostly useless; only blunt weapons and heavy firearms could destroy them.

Eventually, they relied almost entirely on heavy weapons and the powerful combat abilities of Psychics to fight the zombies.

Gradually, Megan and the others realized something was wrong.

These zombies were strange, not like mindless creatures but like an organized, disciplined swarm.
