Chapter 85 Humiliating Alice
"Alright, the supplies have been distributed."
Steven asked Elinor to put the remaining supplies into her pocket.
But at that moment, a voice of urgency suddenly came from the crowd. "Dear, I haven't gotten mine yet, I haven't!"
The voice belonged to Alice.
She always thought Steven would give her special treatment and the most food.
But she had waited in vain.
Next to Alice, Ivy also said anxiously, "Steven, how could you forget about me?"
Steven looked at the two of them mockingly. "I didn't forget about you!"
The two of them were delighted, thinking he was giving them special treatment by saving them for last.
But Steven's following words sent them plummeting.
"You two were never going to get any."
Alice and Ivy were dumbfounded, staring wide-eyed as if they couldn't believe their ears.
Ivy blurted out, "Why? Everyone else has some, why don't I?"
Alice couldn't accept it either. She rushed to Steven, tears streaming down her face, and asked aggrievedly, "Dear, you're joking with me, right? Right? This isn't real, you wouldn't do this to me."
"You... you said you liked me, didn't you?" Alice asked.
Steven folded his arms and raised an eyebrow, "I did say I liked you. But you didn't take it seriously, did you?"
"I say that to a lot of girls. We all know we're just having fun."
"Now I'm tired of you, so don't bother me anymore. I have a girlfriend now!"
As he spoke, Steven deliberately pulled Elinor into his arms.
Comparing Elinor and Alice side by side really highlighted a stark contrast between them.
One was a top student from a prestigious university, a chief doctor at a renowned hospital. Elinor was impeccable in terms of figure, looks, and temperament.
The other was an employee at a small company, always flirting with various men, a promiscuous woman.
The choice was obvious to anyone, especially since Alice was now disheveled and messy.
While Elinor was impeccably dressed and well-groomed.
The comparison made Alice look like a beggar next to a fairy.
Alice couldn't bear such a blow.
Her pride in her looks and charm was crushed by Steven's disdain.
She cried and pointed at Steven, "No, this can't be true! You even asked me to stay at your place recently. Why are you like this now?"
Steven sneered. "That's exactly it."
And he said, "I was just playing with you! Look at how ridiculous you look now."
He then looked at Grace and Ivy, "Didn't she always tell you I liked her? And that I'd let her stay with me?"
Grace and Ivy quickly nodded. "Yes, Alice is shameless, always daydreaming!"
"She even killed my cousin, she deserves to die!" Grace scolded.
Steven publicly humiliated Alice, exposing all her dark sides.
Everyone looked at her with disdain.
Alice's face turned pale, clutching her head. "No, stop it! Please stop!"
Steven ignored her and continued, "A woman like you thinks you're beautiful and always tries to seduce rich scions."
"But you don't know that you're infamous among the rich second-generation in Starlight City. Everyone knows you're a woman who can be bought for a few bucks."
Steven looked at Frank, "Frank, tell me, what's her nickname?"
Frank curled up on the ground, gritting his teeth, saying, "The self-proclaimed high-class prostitute!"
The crowd burst into laughter.
"Who would've thought our building had someone like this."
"I used to have a crush on her, damn! If I knew a few bucks could get her, I wouldn't have invested so much."
"Shameless woman!"
The mocking and cursing surrounded Alice; even if she tried to cover her ears, she couldn't block out the sound.
"Ah!!!!" She screamed and ran out.
Steven took out a small bag of cookies and threw it in front of Frank. "This is your reward."
Training a dog is the same; you have to reward it when it behaves.
Frank's eyes were full of joy; he didn't expect to get the food!
Even though he had just been beaten up, his hatred for Steven had lessened significantly.
Instead, he began to think Steven was a fair person.
After all, he had been wrong to resist Steven.
"Thank you, Mr. Rogers, I'll be obedient from now on!"
At this moment, Ivy also stepped forward. "Steven, I was offended by Alice in the past, but I have no conflict with you, right? I even spoke up for you just now, shouldn't you give me more food?"
Steven glanced at her. "No."
Ivy immediately got angry and screamed, "Why? You hate her, not me!"
Steven looked at her seriously, "I just don't like you and don't want to give you any. Is that not okay?"
Ivy was stunned. "You..."
Steven said, "The supplies are mine. It's my right to decide who gets them. Even if you have an opinion, you have to keep it to yourself!"
"This isn't fair!" Ivy started crying.
"Only fools talk about fairness." Steven couldn't be bothered with her. The others looked at Ivy with schadenfreude.
Dennis and Walter smartly drove Ivy away to avoid her annoying Steven further.
After distributing the supplies, Steven said, "Next, let's talk about how to set up defenses."
Next to Henry, Cara frowned and whispered in his ear, "Why didn't we get any food? You killed two people, we should get portions for eleven people!"
Henry said, "Steven won't forget us, just keep quiet."
Cara gave him a dissatisfied look, then looked at Steven and muttered a few complaints.
Steven said, "In our building, excluding the children who can't walk, there are 47 people."
"Myself, Elinor, Mr. Garcia, and Cara are excluded. The rest, 43 people, will be divided into six groups, each with seven or eight people."
"You will take turns on 24-hour shifts to prevent people from other buildings from attacking."
"If you see anyone coming, bang on the stair railings or other metal objects to alert everyone."
"People in the other floors will do the same to notify those on higher floors."
Steven put his hands in his pockets and said seriously, "The rewards I mentioned earlier still stand. Kill an enemy, and you'll get food for five people!"
"If you don't have any achievements, just being on duty will get you food for one person per day. But you have to let others pick first, and the final portion isn't guaranteed."
He then said to Henry, "Mr. Garcia, you will handle this."
Henry nodded, "Alright, no problem!"
