Chapter 50 Teasing a Hypocrite
Steven asked lightly, "What do you think?"
Beside Alice, Grace and the others nudged her to focus on the matter at hand.
Alice sniffled and tearfully said, "Steven, Paul and the others were shot by you, and they are badly injured now. There's no medicine at home, they will die from infection."
"Didn't you buy a lot of medicine before? Please, lend us some medication."
"I... I promise I will never disturb you again!"
Steven's cooking hand paused for a moment, perplexed by Alice's twisted logic.
"Alice, why do you think I used rusty arrows to shoot them?"
"To make them suffer and die from infection, that's my goal!"
"You came to ask me for medicine? Are you out of mind!" Steven scolded with a laugh.
Alice and the others understand this, of course.
But now, if they didn't shamelessly come to Steven for help, they would have to watch their companions die.
And Paul and the other two men were their hope for survival in the future.
Alice cried, "Steven, we were wrong. Please spare them this time, we promise we won't trouble you again in the future."
"And in these difficult times, we should help each other."
"Don't be so heartless, will you be happy if they die? "
Before Alice could finish, Steven decisively said, "Yes, I am very happy now."
Alice's words were abruptly cut off, leaving her unsure of how to respond.
Grace hurried over and said to Steven, "Steven, I am Grace. Do you remember when I treated you to a meal before?"
Steven rolled his eyes instantly.
Previously, Grace had asked him for help to get a batch of goods from the warehouse at a low price.
Steven had been treated to a meal, but later, he helped her earn a lot.
"What do you think, what's the point of you saying this?" Steven coldly retorted.
Grace swallowed nervously, and from the living room, they could hear Paul's cries of agony.
After hearing that, Steven's face showed contentment, wishing he could see their miserable state.
Grace said, "Steven, everyone is living in fear now, and there's tyrant Andrew causing harm. Don't be too ruthless, you might need us in the future."
"If you give us the medicine this time, I will remember your kindness and will definitely repay you in the future!"
Steven sneered, "Kindness? Do you think I'm a fool?"
"All those people were injured by me, and there's a dead body right outside my door."
"No matter what I do, this vendetta will never end. If I help you, are you going to seek revenge on me later? That's absurd!"
Grace wanted to explain, "We are not those kinds of people!"
"Stop it!" Steven clicked his tongue twice, "Whether you are those kinds of people or not, it doesn't matter to me. The thing is, I don't believe you, so I won't help you."
Let him save the person who wanted to harm him??Only a fool would do that. No matter how convincing their words were, Steven would not waver.
Seeing that Steven was unyielding, the group became anxious.
Grace furrowed her brows, "Steven, don't push us to the edge! If you insist on letting us die, we don't know what we might do!"
Facing Grace's threat, Steven laughed disdainfully, "Haven't you done everything you can already?"
"If you had the ability, you would have broken into my house, killed me, and taken everything from me long ago."
"Don't threaten me, it's useless against me."
Alice snatched the phone and tearfully said to Steven, "Steven, must we come to this point? We used to be so good together."
"Why can't we let go of our prejudices and start anew? Actually, I have always had feelings for you!"
Meanwhile, next door, Paul was undergoing surgery, biting down on a towel.
Upon hearing Alice's words, his eyes widened, and he cried out even louder.
Facing such a scheming woman, Steven couldn't help but admire her; her shamelessness was beyond imagination.
But it wasn't surprising; in the current environment, Steven was akin to a tycoon. And Alice had masterful tactics in badgering tycoons relentlessly.
Suddenly, an evil thought crossed Steven's mind.
He knew the others were nearby, and Paul could hear their conversation.
So, Steven deliberately said, "Alice, deep down, I still have feelings for you. It's just that you hurt me too deeply before, and I couldn't let it go."
This sentence was like a match, igniting a glimmer of hope in Alice's heart.
Ignoring the angry glares from the others, she excitedly trembled and said, "Honey, I knew you couldn't stop loving me!"
"You're silly, you're the one I love the most. Those things before were just to test you. How could you not understand my intentions, you fool?"
The others felt nauseated, and Paul was almost faint with anger.
But they knew that if Alice managed to get close to Steven, they might have a chance to get his house and resources, so they remained silent.
"Honey, let Alice move in with you! From now on, Alice will be yours, I will listen to you and do whatever you want. Okay?"
Steven smiled faintly. "Sure!"
Alice jumped up excitedly, more thrilled than if she had just drunk milk.
Ivy anxiously said, "Take me with you, take me with you!"
Alice coldly glanced at her, inwardly sneering.
Steven's cold voice came through the phone again.
"However, Alice, I only love you. So, I can only accept you. As for the others, you need to keep your distance from them. In such difficult times, let's not allow a group of people to burden us. Don't you agree?"
At this statement, the expressions of everyone present changed.
Initially, they had hoped that after Alice got close to Steven, they could all benefit from some resources.
However, from Steven's words, it seemed like he wanted Alice to separate from them instead.
Alice was too excited at the moment to care about the others around her.
She nodded quickly, agreeing to everything.
"Okay, okay, everything is up to you. I'll do as you say, I'll listen to you!"
"Then come over now, don't mind the others."
"Okay, I'll come right away, wait for me!"
Excited, Alice's face flushed with joy. The thought of escaping the hellish life she was living filled her mind, leaving no room for anything else.
She ran towards the door without hesitation.
Grace and the others were seething with anger.
Seeing Alice about to leave them behind and go to Steven, Ivy reached out and grabbed her.
Alice turned back, her expression twisted in a roar, "Get out of my way! Don't stop me from going to Steven's house, I've had enough of these days!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Grace's heavy hand slapped her face hard.
"You shameless wretch, you've caused us so much misery, and now you want to run away? It's impossible!"
