Chapter 267 Combat Suit

Seeing Steven's confident vibe, the women at home felt way more relaxed.

Everyone pitched in to tidy up the first two floors.

Thanks to Steven's extradimensional space collection ability, it was a breeze.

Before long, they cleared out new rooms in the basement and moved everything down there.

Elinor and Nora took charge of cleaning and organizing.

Meanwhile, Cindy and Aubrey kept busy following Steven's instructions.

Steven called Cindy over to check on the progress of hacking into the West Mountain Base network.

Cindy admitted, "Their network security is top-notch. I've tried hacking in multiple times, but no luck."

Steven didn't seem bothered. "Well, they are better equipped and have more network experts."

The folks at West Mountain Base were the big shots in Starlight City. Regardless of their behavior, their brains and insights were on another level.

In short, they had all kinds of experts working on different tasks.

Even though Cindy was a top hacker, breaking through their defenses wasn't a walk in the park.

But Cindy felt Steven was underestimating her and bit her lip in frustration. "Steven, it's not that I'm not as good as their people! It's just that with what we've got, it's impossible."

She added, "To hack into their network, you need a way in. They use a local area network internally. Unless I can connect to their intranet or plant a Trojan virus in their equipment, it's not that easy."

Seeing her upset, Steven quickly smiled and reassured her, "I didn't mean to blame you. As long as you can keep our network secure, that's enough! If we can hack them back, great, but if not, no big deal."

Steven wasn't planning a counterattack just yet.

His priority was keeping the shelter safe.

As for connecting to the West Mountain Base intranet or planting a Trojan virus, that was just wishful thinking; he had no way to do it.

Cindy puffed out her chest. "Don't worry about that! With me here, no one can breach the shelter's network."

Cindy had set up a firewall for the shelter's network, filtering all incoming and outgoing information.

Plus, with her personal monitoring, the chance of a network breach was zero.

Steven left the network control room and headed to Aubrey's workshop.

"Aubrey, I have a question," he said.

Aubrey put down her work and quickly pulled up a chair for Steven.

She wiped the sweat from her forehead. Even with a sweatband, working in that environment left her face covered in sweat.

"What do you want to ask?" Aubrey said.

Steven crossed his hands and asked seriously, "I want to know, if West Mountain Base wants to blow up our shelter, what method would they use?"

Aubrey answered without hesitation, "To demolish a building, they'd usually use TNT explosives with detonators. That's the common method for taking down old buildings."

"Our shelter is built really solid. If they want to break through, that's the only way," she added.

Steven nodded. "Then estimate, how much explosive would they need to blow a hole in our shelter?"

This question was a piece of cake for the genius Aubrey.

She replied, "Based on the materials and wall thickness of our shelter, it would take around 700 to 1800 pounds of explosives."

Aubrey smiled and scratched her head. "But I haven't measured it exactly; that's just a rough estimate."

Steven stroked his chin. "So, about 1200 pounds. With that much, it would be pretty obvious when they're transporting it."

"What do you think about sniping to detonate it halfway? Is that doable?" Steven hoped to stop the explosion at its source.

But Aubrey immediately shook her head. "I wouldn't recommend that."

"Why not?" Steven asked.

"TNT is super stable. You can't set it off with bullets or fire. It needs a detonator," Aubrey explained.

Steven quickly dropped the idea of sniping to detonate. "Got it! Looks like I'll have to stay home and defend."

Steven smiled faintly, thinking to himself, 'Time for Plan B.'

He looked at Aubrey. "How's the stuff I asked you to prepare coming along?"

Aubrey quickly turned around and showed Steven what she had made. "Check these out, what do you think?"

During this time, Aubrey had been busy prepping weapons and gear for Steven.

Among them, the explosive bombs were the easiest to make, and she made a bunch.

Besides that, there were two other things Steven was particularly interested in.

One was the heavy sniper rifle Steven had just acquired.

This sniper rifle had an effective range of up to 6070 feet and could pierce through an armored vehicle with one shot.

With Steven's Precision Shooting Supernatural ability, its effective range could be extended to a mind-blowing 16,400 feet!

This meant Steven could take out targets from a crazy distance!

But this also brought a problem.

With Steven's abilities, his shooting range could reach 16,400 feet, but his eyesight couldn't.

So, he had Aubrey modify an optical scope for him.

With this, Steven could truly achieve ultra-long-distance sniping!

Except for opponents like Zane, who had high agility and super-speed movement abilities, or monsters with insanely high defense, ordinary Psychics targeted by Steven would be toast! Like Brittany, who could phase through walls.

"The scope was pretty easy to make; it only took me half a day. But this combat suit really took some time!" Aubrey said, pulling out a black metal box from under the workbench.

She struggled to lift the box onto the workbench and opened it in front of Steven.

What lay before Steven was a pure white combat suit, identical to those worn by Zane, Shawn, and others!

Steven's eyes lit up when he saw the combat suit.

It was simply stunning.

After all, it was a style specifically designed for special forces, and it looked super cool.

Especially in snowy environments, its camouflage effect was top-notch.

Aubrey proudly said, "Its material and equipment are made of special alloy. To exaggerate a bit, it's really tough for an ordinary sniper bullet to penetrate it."

"The material cost is at least twenty times that of the soldiers at West Mountain Base! But you're loaded, so you don't mind the cost," she added.

"I just don't get why you insisted on making it look exactly like the soldiers at West Mountain Base?" she asked curiously.

Steven picked up the combat suit, a mysterious smile flashing in his eyes. "This is very important. You'll get it later."
