Chapter 273 Throwing
At that moment, an engineer from the demolition team stepped up.
He adjusted his glasses and said, "I think there's another way we can try."
Everyone turned to look at the engineer.
He was Elmer Smith, a former fellow at the Starlight City Institute of Physics and now a top recruit at West Mountain Base.
"Elmer, what's on your mind?" Charles asked.
Elmer replied, "That guy Steven, his spatial ability might actually prove the multiverse theory."
"But as we all know, energy can't just disappear; it has to go somewhere. So his ability is probably just moving the energy or materials to another place."
"And what happens if he absorbs too much energy?" Elmer asked.
Elmer's explanation was straightforward, and Charles quickly answered, "It'll collapse!"
Elmer nodded. "He just took our explosives, but he might not dare to absorb them when they're detonated. After all, that's 1100 pounds of TNT!"
Shane asked, "What if he can absorb the power of the 1100 pounds of TNT explosion?"
Elmer took a deep breath and said, "If that's the case, even if we use all the power of West Mountain Base, we won't be able to defeat him!"
He was being honest.
In that event, all thermal weapons would be useless against Steven.
So, thinking they could break through such a stronghold with just human effort was foolish.
Even if Steven let them attack, they wouldn't be able to destroy the shelter in such a cold environment, wasting a lot of manpower and time.
Charles said firmly, "We have to try this to find out!"
"And I don't believe his ability is that strong. I wouldn't allow someone that powerful to exist in Starlight City!"
He quickly came up with a plan.
They were to bundle the remaining 1100 pounds of TNT together and set it to detonate in 30 seconds. Then, they would throw the large bundle of explosives over.
They had no better option, so they had to try this.
The demolition team immediately started bundling the remaining 1100 pounds of explosives and setting the detonation mode.
Charles didn't rush to act but ordered his soldiers to start heavy fire from all directions towards the shelter to distract Steven.
Soon, soldiers from various positions received the order and began firing fiercely at the shelter.
And what was Steven doing now?
He was in the room, waiting for the next move from the soldiers of West Mountain Base.
Steven knew these people would be shocked to find their hard-earned explosives stolen. But they definitely wouldn't give up easily and would take the next step.
However, Steven didn't know how they would attack again.
Until the surveillance showed that several directions of the entire shelter were under heavy gunfire, Steven began to observe carefully.
"Guns? Don't they know these things can't even scratch my shelter?" Steven laughed as he saw the firepower attacks from all directions.
"It looks like a distraction, which means there's a real attack coming! Alright, let's see what you've got," Steven muttered, smiling but keeping his eyes sharp and alert.
After the gunfire started, the team finally got the 1100-pound bundle of explosives ready on a low hill about two kilometers away.
But getting such heavy explosives to the shelter from that distance was no easy feat. Without the right tools, it was a challenge beyond what most people could imagine.
Charles walked over to the explosives, patted them, and exchanged a glance with Shane.
Shane grinned and quickly started stripping off his combat uniform.
Lily looked at him, puzzled. What was Shane up to?
In the freezing cold, he was down to just his underwear!
But then, Shane showed her why.
Every muscle in his body started wriggling like worms, twisting and bulging.
His entire body began to swell, and a layer of silver hair sprouted from his pores.
Sharp teeth grew in his mouth, and his fingers turned into claws.
Shane transformed into a 20-foot-tall giant ape!
Lily thought, 'So that's his ability!'
Shane and Charles grabbed the bundle of explosives.
After Elmer set the timer, he gave them the signal, and the two of them hurled the explosives towards the shelter with all their might!
Charles, even though he was much smaller than Shane in his transformed state, didn't seem to struggle at all when throwing the explosives.
The bundle flew towards the shelter like a cannonball.
According to Elmer's calculations, it would explode just 165 feet from the shelter!
Even if it didn't blow a hole in the shelter, it would cause significant damage!
If this worked, they could keep up these attacks. They had plenty of explosives back at the base.
The bundle of explosives flew through the air, the target clear as day, and Steven spotted it immediately on the surveillance.
"So that's the plan!" Steven instantly got their intention.
He moved to where the explosives were headed, and a white light flashed in his right eye.
A huge dimension door opened above the shelter, covering hundreds of square feet!
At the same time, he divided the Extradimensional Space.
Steven separated the area storing supplies from the area ready to receive the explosives to keep the energy from damaging his hard-earned supplies.
The bundle of explosives fell into the Extradimensional Space in a perfect arc.
With a simple act of will, Steven observed the internal changes.
What he saw shocked him.
The large bundle of explosives had already started to expand, showing intense energy reactions.
The time flow in the Extradimensional Space was much slower than outside, but time still passed.
So for the outside world, this process made no difference; everything would still happen as it should.
The next moment.
Steven's dimension door shattered!
The surging energy spread above the shelter, and the explosion was deafening.
Even Lily and the others 1.2 miles away had to cover their ears.
But Charles and the others were ecstatic. "It worked, this method is indeed effective!"
