Chapter 20 Starting a Leisurely Life

Can you imagine what it feels like to be drenched in cold water at over minus 158 degrees Fahrenheit?

Steven held a large water hose and sprayed it towards the people outside.

There was a temperature difference of about 200 degrees Fahrenheit between indoors and outdoors.

So when the water flowed out, it was still steaming hot. However, after landing on those people, it quickly froze into ice!

In the freezing cold, they were all wearing down jackets and sweaters.

The cold water soaked their bodies, making them feel like they were being thrown into an ice cellar.

"Damn! So cold, freezing me to death!"

"Stop pouring, stop!"

At this point, they would rather be severely beaten than endure this freezing torture.

Their lips turned purple from the cold, and some even went into shock due to extremely low temperatures.

Instinctively, they quickly ran away from Steven's doorstep.

But in just a few seconds, they were all completely soaked.

Some didn't even have time to run to the elevator to escape, their clothes frozen stiff.

Steven watched as they all ran away before turning off the water tap.

He had initially planned to discipline these people with a crossbow.

However, the loading speed was too slow for that, and there was a risk of being shot back through the firing hole.

Using the water hose turned out to be more effective.

After being thoroughly soaked by Steven, each of them had lips turning purple from the cold.

They quickly ran back to Andrew's house.

Seeing them return in a sorry state, Andrew couldn't help but get angry.

"Where is that man? Did you catch him?"

His subordinates were all frantically looking for blankets and bedsheets to warm up.

Their clothes were all soaked, frozen into ice chips.

About a dozen people were scrambling for clothes and blankets in the room.

But with too many people and not enough to go around, a few of his subordinates had no choice but to take off their clothes and huddle together for warmth.

The scene was somewhat bizarre.

This enraged Andrew, who slammed the table and demanded, "Someone explains to me what's going on!"

After regaining some body heat, his subordinates shakily explained the situation to Andrew.

"That Steven is despicable, actually spraying us with a water hose. We couldn't bear it!"

"His house's door is too thick. We tried to break it down, but only managed to chip off some paint."

After listening, Andrew furrowed his brow deeply.

When he tried to break down the door, he indeed felt that Steven's door was very solid.

It seemed difficult for them to forcefully enter.

However, he soon smirked.

"It's okay, even if his house is a fortress, there will always be a loophole."

"And I don't believe he can stay indoors forever!"

"You guys, stay nearby, as soon as he steps out, immediately kill him!"

Andrew said menacingly.

His subordinates were all desperados, and upon hearing this, they shakily chuckled.

Although they were frozen and miserable, they had to show they were tough.

Little did they know, Steven had no intention of leaving his home at all.

While it was hell outside, his room was a paradise.

No one would willingly leave paradise for hell.

After dealing with Andrew and the others, Steven went back to playing his games.

Although he knew these guys wouldn't give up easily, they also couldn't break into his home.

As for going out?

Steven definitely wouldn't make that choice!

Even with a one-in-a-million chance of risk, he wouldn't take it.

Living comfortably at home was his ideal life.

Shortly after, Steven went to the floor-to-ceiling window to check the outside scenery.

He noticed someone clearing snow with tools.

He seemed to see Henry, the security guard, a straightforward and enthusiastic veteran who always rushed to help.

The dozen people downstairs were some of the more agreeable young people in the homeowners' group, while Clara and the neighborhood committee members were nowhere to be seen.

Facing the ten-foot-thick snow layer, they were digging with effort.

However, Steven knew it was all in vain.

Just trying to dig a path from downstairs to the community entrance would take a whole day.

But even if they cleared it, what good would it do?

The outside roads were completely covered in snow, too.

Such heavy snow could only be cleared by professional-grade snowplows.

However, in the South, they didn't have such professional vehicles.

Going out had become an impossible task.

Moreover, in temperatures of over negative 158 degrees Fahrenheit, they couldn't endure for long.

Their cold protection equipment was poor, and their bodies couldn't adapt to such low temperatures.

There was a risk of frostbite after just half an hour outdoors.

Steven shook his head.

These plain dealers were indeed quite pitiful.

But their choices were their own, and Steven couldn't be bothered to say anything.

After all, at this moment, everything was unrelated to him, and he just wanted to live his life in peace.

The time was afternoon.

Steven felt a bit hungry, so he took out a feast from The extradimensional space.

It was a simple meal, just a plate of foie gras, a Wellington steak, two small desserts, and a bottle of cola.

Such delicacies were abundant in his space.

Now that he stayed at home every day, Steven's routine had become more flexible.

Basically, he slept when tired and ate when hungry, without distinguishing between day and night.

The heavy snow outside continued to fall.

Steven took a look out of the window at the Community Unit Building below.

The snow clearers had all gone back.

And the open space they had cleared with so much effort was soon covered by more snow.

Perhaps they also realized that with just their strength, they couldn't fight against nature.

Steven lay on the couch in his pajamas, the indoor temperature a comfortable 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

He turned on the TV and watched the programs.

Many national TV stations had stopped broadcasting, with only some provincial channels and CCTV still airing.

They were mostly propaganda and slogans encouraging people.

"At this moment, our eyes are on Everglow City. The officials are directing us to launch the final assault against the snow disaster!"

"Reportedly, due to inadequate snow disaster prevention and control, In Star Country two billion people were affected, with tens of millions dead!"

"Our country's snow disaster is within a controllable range, and everything is developing positively."

"Hope everyone stays calm and trusts the government's strength!"

Steven shook his head.

The magnitude and horror of this snow disaster were unimaginable to humans.

Although the authorities were working hard to solve the problems, human strength was truly insignificant in the face of nature.
