Chapter 317 Infiltration

Lily walked up to Steven and said, "Thanks for coming through for us."

Even though the three people in front of her were decked out in special forces gear, Lily didn't seem all that curious.

She already knew Steven had special forces equipment from when he raided Cox Town earlier.

Lily glanced at Fluffy on Steven's shoulder. That familiar vibe hit her right away.

Fluffy looked back at Lily, its amber eyes twinkling with a mischievous glint.

Lily took a few deep breaths and decided not to dwell on it.

She didn't know the full story, but now wasn't the time to figure it out.

Steven nodded and said, "The guards at the entrance are taken care of. Your students can leave now."

He pulled out two backpacks from some extradimensional space and tossed them on the ground. "These have high-energy food and fuel for warmth. Have them head to a community 3.1 miles southeast to hide... You lead the way for us; we have other things to handle."

Lily and the students were taken aback. The students looked even more anxious.

"You're not coming with us?" they asked.

If they ran into trouble, they had no way to defend themselves.

Steven said, "Don't worry, they won't have time to chase you."

He added, "But if we just run, once they get things under control here, they'll come after us."

Steven locked eyes with Lily. "Ms. Evans, you know this better than anyone. Just escaping West Mountain Base like this isn't realistic, especially after you've killed so many of their people."

Lily bit her lip, knowing Steven was right. Since deciding to break away from West Mountain Base, there was no turning back.

"What do you plan to do?" she asked.

Steven smirked. "Simple, let's blow up West Mountain Base. That way, we won't have to worry about them anymore."

"Destroy the entire West Mountain Base?" Lily felt a twinge of reluctance.

There were still thousands of people surviving in the base.

If West Mountain Base was destroyed, wouldn't they all die?

But Steven had a point; if West Mountain Base wasn't taken out, she and her students would eventually face retaliation.

They weren't like Steven, who had the power to fight against West Mountain Base.

After a moment, Lily made up her mind. "Alright, I'll help you."

There wasn't much time to hesitate. Destroying West Mountain Base with Steven was the only option.

Lily called Nathan over and had him lead the students to escape.

Nathan gave Steven and his team a long look and said to Lily, "Ms. Evans, come back safe!"

Even though Nathan was a cyborg, he didn't have the guts to fight the main force of the special forces.

And even if he wanted to stay, Steven probably wouldn't have let him.

A cyborg was still too weak compared to a true Psychic.

Nathan shouldered one backpack and handed the other to Warren. The group led the other students and quickly climbed up the passage.

It wasn't until she saw them exit the door that Lily felt a sense of relief.

Steven glanced at Lily, lowered the visor on his helmet, and said, "Let's go, we don't have much time."

This chaos wouldn't last long. Cindy had taken control of West Mountain Base's internal network and shut down multiple systems.

But soon, someone would manually restore it, and the riot in The Fourth Life Warehouse would be put down with gunfire.

They had to complete their mission fast.

"Take us here!" Steven said, showing Lily the location of The Second Life Warehouse on his phone.

Lily nodded. "Follow me!"

She knew the place well since she lived there.

With a broadsword in hand, Lily led the way.

Behind her, the stimulants had kicked in for Steven and the other two. For the next few hours, they wouldn't feel tired, their pain would be dulled, and they'd have enhanced physical and combat abilities.

The four of them made their way to the underground area, where the West Mountain Base was a war zone filled with gunfire and shouts.

People from the Fourth Life Warehouse had already broken into the third and second Life Warehouses.

They didn't try to escape West Mountain Base because it was freezing outside, and running away would mean certain death.

So, many smart folks inside planned to take over West Mountain Base by force.

Fights were breaking out everywhere in the passageways, with blood splattered on the walls and floors.

But when Steven and the others showed up, people instinctively moved aside.

They were wearing special forces uniforms, and Lily even had a captain-level uniform on.

The power system was down, so they had to rely on glow sticks and temporary lights, making everything look hazy.

In a quick glance, no one had time to figure out if they were friend or foe.

People didn't know about Lily's defection, so the soldiers let her pass.

As for the civilians from the Fourth Life Warehouse, they ran like they'd seen ghosts.

Everyone knew the special forces were the most powerful armed group in West Mountain Base.

Steven pulled out a pistol and shot a couple of civilians in the head along the way, scaring everyone else off and letting them move quickly through the passage.

If they were going to act, they had to make it convincing. Steven, now disguised as a special forces member, killing a few civilians made it more believable.

Earl and Henry followed Steven's lead.

They didn't feel bad about it because most of the people here weren't true civilians; they were once the high and mighty elites of Starlight City.

The four of them quickly moved through the passage and soon arrived at The Second Life Warehouse.

Once there, things got a bit quieter.

The security here was tight, with most of the special forces stationed there.

Even if there was some chaos, it was quickly handled.

Seeing Lily and the others in the same uniforms, the guards assumed they were allies and didn't pay them any more attention.

"Go!" Steven said to Henry and Earl.

The two nodded, quickly taking out timed bombs from their backpacks and placing them in various hidden corners of The Second Life Warehouse.

Seeing this, Lily anxiously said, "The buildings here are really sturdy; regular explosives won't work!"

Steven calmly replied, "I know, these aren't regular explosives."

As he spoke, Steven walked toward a pre-planned location.

This corner was a hidden nook in The Second Life Warehouse, rarely passed by.

Lily, feeling anxious, had no choice but to follow him closely.

Once there, Steven took out two large bundles of explosives from the extradimensional space and placed them in the corner.

At first glance, Lily found them familiar. After thinking carefully, she realized they were the explosives Charles had used to attack the shelter!

She said, "You still kept those!"

Steven smiled slightly, "Of course, I never waste anything. Now let's let them taste their own explosives!"
