Chapter 496 Terrifying Speculation

Steven had seen Natasha's power up close when she effortlessly took down two tough Bronze Flying Elite Zombies. Her strength was off the charts.

From that one moment, Steven later figured out that her fighting skills were on par with Megan and Leonard, something Steven just couldn't wrap his head around.

"Think back, when you were with Natasha, did you notice anything weird about her? Especially that night when you got attacked, how did she fight?"

Elinor was puzzled by Steven's sudden interest in Natasha.

To her, the Snowfall Cult were the biggest victims in this whole mess.

Everyone felt sorry for them and had no reason to be suspicious.

But since Steven asked, she thought hard.

"These past few days, she mostly spent her time praying and comforting other followers."

"But if there's something special, there was one time. She said she could help me awaken a Supernatural ability."

Steven frowned. "She said she could help you awaken a Supernatural ability? Did you go for it?"

Elinor quickly shook her head with a smile. "No way! Even though I really want to become a Psychic, I remembered your advice to be cautious of everyone. So I turned her down!"

Steven nodded, relieved. "Natasha wouldn't just give away the precious Frostheart to others for no reason."

Steven crossed his hands under his chin, and the fog in his mind started to clear a bit.

He felt like he was onto something big. A bold idea slowly formed in his mind.

"Elinor, keep talking. Tell me everything about her in detail. Don't leave anything out!"

Elinor nodded and continued, "After I refused her, she just said that if I ever changed my mind, I could go to her anytime."

"She didn't push me, which made me feel pretty good."

"Then, there was the incident where those two monsters broke through the ceiling and entered the church."

Elinor recalled.

"I was sitting in the front row, very close to Natasha. So I saw clearly when she made her move."

"Those two monsters dived down, and their first target was her."

"She was super fast. With just a slight raise of her hand, the two monsters were frozen in mid-air."

"Then she just waved her hand lightly, like swatting a mosquito, and the two monsters were swept away. They even broke the church door!"

Elinor's description was vivid.

But as Steven listened, he felt a chill run down his spine, and even his back felt cold.

'Ice and snow ability, able to instantly freeze two powerful Bronze Flying Elite Zombies.'

'Extremely fast reaction speed and strong physical power. This is the hallmark of a Strengthening System Psychic.'

'Doesn't that mean she possesses at least four different Supernatural abilities?'

Steven completely figured it out!

He finally understood why the Snowfall Cult so easily gave him the Frostheart, and generously distributed it to the major forces in Starlight City, even using Jordan to constantly preach, looking for potential people to give the Frostheart to.

As long as those with the potential for Supernatural abilities used the Frostheart, it didn't matter if they didn't join the Snowfall Cult or even became its enemies.

Because Natasha's true ability was never a "Blessing"! It was "Supernatural Ability Return"!

Basically, once a Psychic who got their powers through the Frostheart died, their ability would bounce back to Natasha.

This way, she could collect a ton of Supernatural abilities, and it seemed like her powers were off the charts.

During the Five Armies War, Steven noticed a bunch of Psychics on the battlefield who were just empty shells, missing their original powers.

Back then, he couldn't figure out where their abilities went after they died.

Now it made sense. Those folks had awakened their powers using the Frostheart, so their abilities went back to Natasha.

In the few months since the apocalypse started, who knows how many Psychics' abilities she had secretly absorbed.

Not to mention, after several battles, countless Psychics in Starlight City had died.

Suddenly, an even crazier idea popped into Steven's head—Could Natasha be the mastermind behind the zombie chaos in Starlight City?

The more Steven thought about it, the scarier it seemed.

If this were true, the seemingly kind and devout follower was actually the biggest and most inhumane demon in Starlight City!

And now, how powerful she had become was beyond Steven's imagination.

Steven's face turned super serious, and his legs started to tremble a bit.

This was a sign of nervousness.

Although these were just his speculations for now, it would mean he would face an extremely terrifying demon soon if it were true.

However, for now, it was just a guess. There were still some remaining puzzles.

First, the zombie horde.

If the Snowfall Cult really had the power to control so many zombies, they wouldn't have been pushed around by the major base forces.

With the power of the zombie horde, they could easily flatten Starlight City.

Second, Natasha's motive.

As the leader of a cult, claiming to be the most devout follower of a deity, why would she destroy the foundation of her own cult?

The death toll of Snowfall Cult followers in these wars was so tragic that there were hardly any left.

Without followers, could the Snowfall Cult still be called a religion?

Steven was confused, muttering with his eyes closed. "It doesn't make sense!"

He hoped he was just overthinking it.

But all the clues connected, forcing him to think this way.

Elinor quickly came over to comfort him, "Steven, what's wrong?"

Steven didn't speak, falling into a long silence.

Yes, it was all just his imagination.

Apart from knowing that Natasha had multiple Supernatural abilities, he had no evidence to prove his guess.

Even if he told others, no one would believe him.

Moreover, he didn't want to alert Natasha.

"I hope I'm just overthinking it!" Steven muttered to himself.

He looked up at the worried Elinor and smiled. "Nothing, you did well. But remember, never go to Natasha. She's not a good person!"

Elinor nodded. "Okay. But you seem to have something on your mind?"

Steven raised an eyebrow, thought for a moment, and decided not to tell Elinor.

After all, it was just his guess.

But if it turned out to be true and Natasha found out he suspected her, the consequences might be unbearable.
