Chapter 90 Gas Station

Steven knew this area too well. Throughout Starlight City, hundreds of company warehouses were concentrated here, both large and small.

If he could gather all the supplies back, not only would he be fine, but he could also support thousands of people.

However, whether those supplies were still there was the biggest question.

Steven took out his handgun and crowbar and went to check out the nearby Target warehouse.

He used the crowbar to smash the window from the top.

When he poked his head inside, he found that the large factory was now completely empty.

He wondered, 'Did someone transport everything away?'

Steven was mentally prepared, so he wasn't too surprised.

He continued to check other warehouses, and the result was the same.

Medical equipment, household goods, food, even snacks, and pet food were all gone.

'Just as I thought.'

'When a disaster strikes, those official experts will report the situation immediately. The people in charge will definitely transfer the supplies first.'

That was why Steven emptied the Walmart warehouse a week in advance.

He knew that when a disaster struck, those in power would only think of themselves and not care about the ordinary people's lives.

Steven didn't give up searching.

There were hundreds of warehouses here; maybe there would be something useful left.

Sure enough, after working for half a day, Steven found a warehouse storing cars.

The area inside was over ten million square feet and very spacious.

On the steel racks, the cars were lined up neatly like sardines in a can.

There were many luxury cars inside, which could have sold for millions of dollars before the apocalypse!

But now, they were completely useless, serving no purpose.

Seeing so many vehicles, Steven felt they were of no use.

He hesitated for a long time and finally gritted his teeth, pondering, 'There's still so much space in my extradimensional space; I'll just throw them in. Who knows, I might need them later.'

Men did love cars.

Seeing so many luxury cars, Steven thought about collecting them for fun. Even though he couldn't drive them now, it would still be enjoyable.

He could treat them as high-end models.

So he picked out a dozen of his favorite cars and put them into his extradimensional space.

For the entire day, Steven was busy in this warehouse area.

Most of the warehouses had been emptied, leaving behind items that were inconvenient to move, for example, large machinery or batches of construction materials.

He couldn't find any food or daily necessities at all!

Steven picked up a lot of stuff, like a scavenger, such as hHeavy trucks, excavators, Rolls-Royce Phantoms, bulldozers...

'What if I need them in the future?' Steven consoled himself.

Then he found his thoughts amusing; in this icy world, these vehicles couldn't move an inch, making them completely useless!

Fortunately, his extradimensional space was large enough that even after stuffing in all these vehicles, it was still spacious.

After a long day, Steven felt he had done enough.

This place no longer had any value for further exploration, and he didn't urgently need anything else.

He took out a chocolate bar from his extradimensional space and quickly ate it.

Eating in the cold wind was slightly unpleasant as the wind blew into his mouth.

There was no choice; any hot food outside would cool down in less than half a minute.

Steven scooped up some snow from the ground, stuffed it into his mouth, and melted it for water before finishing his meal.

Then he quickly thought of another place he needed to go.

Since he had gathered many vehicles, he thought of gasoline and diesel.

Originally, the gasoline and diesel stored in his extradimensional space were enough for daily use.

But given the current situation, he would need to use snowmobiles extensively as his primary mode of transportation.

In that case, the stored fuel might not be enough.

Out of caution, Steven decided to go to a gas station to see if he could get some fuel.

Steven rode his snowmobile and, after some thought, headed toward the largest gas station in Starlight City.

Soon, he arrived at the location he remembered.

However, when he got there, the scene made him exhale a long breath of white smoke.

The massive gas station was completely covered by snow.

Steven could only determine its location by the surrounding tall buildings.

Although he was mentally prepared, he couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed.

'There are no tall buildings in gas stations. Does this mean I can't find a place to refuel?' He thought.

"Damn it!" he shouted.

Steven frowned, feeling a bit helpless about the situation.

Given the current snow depth, digging by hand was almost impossible.

Moreover, no one knew how many years the snow disaster would last.

Would he have to conserve fuel in the future?

Based on the amount of fuel in his extradimensional space and the snowmobile's fuel consumption, it might run out in twenty years.

This was not good news!

"Human power is indeed weak. If only I could use large machinery to dig." Steven laughed self-deprecatingly.

Just as he was about to turn the key to leave, he suddenly thought of something.

'Excavation equipment?'

'Could an excavator work?'

He had just picked up some work vehicles from the warehouse, including a few excavators.

Originally, he collected them for fun, thinking he might use them someday.

He didn't expect they would come in handy so soon!

Using an excavator to dig in the snow would be a piece of cake.

But honestly, this was quite rare.

In the past, such deep snow was seldom seen on Earth.

No one drove an excavator to work in the Arctic; they used icebreakers.

However, after careful consideration, Steven believed this idea was feasible!

The snow had only been accumulating for less than a month, so it hadn't formed a hard ice layer yet. An excavator could dig through it!

The snow was at most 50 feet deep; he just needed to dig to the doors or windows to break in.

So, it wouldn't take much time.

"It works!" He uttered with joy.

Steven decided to act immediately. He took a large excavator out of his extradimensional space.

The nearly twenty-ton excavator landed heavily on the ground, sinking over 3 feet!

Seeing this, Steven chuckled, "This saves me some digging."

The surface snow was still relatively thin and couldn't support such weight.

But the snow below should be more compact.

It was Steven's first time operating an excavator, but it wasn't a big problem.

He had operated cranes, forklifts, and large trucks while working in the warehouse.

Operating an excavator was no different; after a bit of figuring out, he knew how to drive it.

Although he couldn't claim to be skilled, he could at least operate it.
