Chapter 370 Purification Ceremony

Neil arrived at the church.

At this moment, Natasha was ignoring the chaos outside and was methodically performing the Healing Touch ceremony for the congregation.

This batch was mostly new converts who had recently joined.

After witnessing the miracles performed by Natasha, they all joined wholeheartedly, becoming members of the Snowfall Cult.

The Healing Touch ceremony was nearing its end, with only a few young boys left, brought to the front by their parents.

They had only been with the Snowfall Cult for a week but had already become the most devout followers, willing to sacrifice their lives for the Snow God.

Natasha looked at them with a gentle expression, but a hint of twisted struggle appeared beneath it.

However, she quickly concealed this struggle, hiding it deep within her dark pupils.

"Come here, kids!" Natasha called out to the boys below.

They exchanged confused glances, unsure why their parents had dragged them here.

But when they turned around, they caught the encouraging nods from their folks.

"Trust Ms. Carter—she's got your back. Everything she's doing is for your good."

"You've gotta go through the baptism to be part of the Snowfall Cult."

The boys hesitated, still clueless, but they trusted their parents and stepped up.

Natasha had one boy come over and lie on the altar, then gently pressed her right hand on his head.

The boy immediately felt his whole body lose strength, as if his limbs were no longer his own.

"Don't be scared, sweetie. There's a demon inside you, and I'm gonna get rid of it," Natasha said with a soft smile.

But then she pulled out a sharp blade.

The boy's eyes widened in terror, frozen in fear, but he couldn't move a muscle, not even to scream.

The other boys freaked out, totally clueless about what Ms. Carter's "exorcism" even meant!

"It'll be over quick! I'll cleanse you of your impurity!" Natasha grinned and brought the blade down hard.

Blood sprayed, and just like that, the boy wasn't a boy anymore!

He immediately passed out, his eyes losing focus.

Natasha held her right hand over the wound, and with a flash of holy white light, the bleeding stopped. "Now, you'll never be tainted by demons again! Purification's done."

The boy's parents hurried over, gushing with gratitude. "Thank you, Ms. Carter, for cleansing him. He won't fall prey to those demons now. He'll be more obedient, right?" The mom looked at Natasha, eyes full of hope.

Thinking that her child's misbehavior and poor academic performance were not due to her poor parenting but because he was possessed by a demon, the mother felt a sense of relief.

Natasha nodded, "From now on, he will be a good and kind child."

The parents wept with joy, looking at each other with relief, and then took their child back.

But the other boys were already freaking out, two of them collapsing on the spot in sheer terror.

"Purification means getting that cut off? No way, I'm out!"

A few kids bolted, trying to make a run for it.

But they were blocked by a wall of people—their own parents, who'd brought them here in the first place.

"Why are you acting up? We're doing this for your own good!"

"You've always been so wild; it's gotta be a demon in you. Once Ms. Carter cleanses it, you'll be a good kid!"

"Stop being so damn stubborn!"

The parents were yelling at their kids, their faces twisted like monsters to the terrified children.

From behind them, Natasha's voice cut through, calm but icy. "Who's up next for the purification?"

One by one, the children were "purified," and their parents thanked Natasha profusely before taking their children back.

Neil stood quietly in the distance, watching it all.

When the crowd saw him return, they knew they had once again successfully protected everyone and began singing praises loudly.

The Healing Touch ceremony ended, and the crowd gradually left the church.

The church, once packed, soon had only Natasha and Neil left.

Natasha saw Neil's covered arm and slowly walked over, lifting his clothing.

"How the hell did you get so messed up?" She put her right hand on Neil's arm, starting to heal him.

Neil let her patch him up just enough before stopping her. "You've been pushing yourself too hard today. Fix me up tomorrow."

Natasha gave a faint, icy smile. "Who did this? Megan from Emberwick? Leonard from Silverlake? Or Sebastian's crew from Frostwood?"

Neil clutched his arm. "Emberwick and Silverlake teamed up on us."

Natasha's eyes widened. "They both came at us at once?"

Neil filled her in on everything.

After hearing it, Natasha looked stunned. "Besides us and the four main bases, there's some mysterious powerhouse in Starlight City? Could they be behind West Mountain Base going down?"

Neil said, "That mysterious force is tied to a guy named Steven. We got intel on him before. He's a Psychic—and a damn strong one. We're talking top-tier in all of Starlight City. If he wasn't, how the hell could he hold off West Mountain Base for so long, let alone take it down?"

Natasha pondered, "But all evidence points to West Mountain Base going down because of that missile from Silvercrest."

Neil nodded. "Yeah, but Steven's still tied to it. I'm telling you, this guy's no joke. He's got some serious muscle behind him. And from what we've heard, he's sitting on a mountain of resources—probably legit."

A glint of interest sparked in Natasha's eyes. "If that's true, this guy's definitely worth keeping an eye on."

Neil stepped closer. "Think we should send Jordan to test him out?"
