Chapter 250 Supernatural Ability Enhancement
Steven headed back to the shelter and made a beeline for Aubrey's workshop.
Earlier, he had handed over Brittany and Zane's armor to Aubrey to see if she could whip up a replica.
That military-grade armor was top-notch—way lighter than the bulletproof vest Steven usually wore and offered way better protection.
Fluffy's full bite force couldn't chomp Zane in half, proving just how resilient it truly was.
Sadly, Zane's armor was already trashed, so Steven couldn't just put it on. And Brittany's armor was way too small for him.
Steven figured he'd ask Aubrey if she could either make a new set or fix up Zane's armor so he could use it.
When Steven got to the workshop, Aubrey was already eyeballing the two pieces of white armor.
He walked in and dropped off the chemical materials he had scavenged.
He had raided so much stuff that he practically cleaned out the biggest chemical factory warehouse in Starlight City.
Just a portion of it filled up a corner of the workshop.
Aubrey looked stunned. "Steven, where'd you get all this stuff?"
Steven just gave a sly smile, clapped his hands, and said, "Don't worry about it. I told you, I'll handle the materials. You just need to turn them into bombs for me!"
Aubrey glanced at the materials and confidently patted her chest. "No sweat! Making top-tier weapons might be tricky, but if it's just bombs, that's a piece of cake!"
In the Ice Age, the enemy couldn't roll in with tanks or armored vehicles; they had to attack on foot.
So, even basic explosives would mess them up pretty bad.
Steven's eyes landed on the two sets of armor, and he asked Aubrey, "So, what do you think? Can you make armor like that?"
Aubrey grinned. "Of course, no problem! The armor's performance isn't at its peak because it's mass-produced. They focus on cost-effectiveness, not top performance!"
She added, "If I make armor just for you, it'll be way better than these two sets! But I'll need more materials."
Steven's eyes lit up at that.
Materials?
The one thing he had in spades was materials.
Steven instructed, "Aubrey, go all out. Don't worry about the cost; use whatever you need. I want the best performance, got it?"
Aubrey was pumped.
As a mechanical genius, she dreamed of having a generous leader to back her up and bring all her wild ideas to life.
She replied, "Got it! I'll make you the best armor in the world!"
"Go for it! I believe in you." Steven gently patted her cheek, his eyes full of encouragement.
Aubrey's face turned bright red.
Steven left right away, not wanting to take up any more of her time.
He took a shower, changed into some light, athletic clothes, and headed to the sports arena on the third underground level.
People in the shelter usually came here to work out when they had free time.
But when Steven came to practice his Supernatural ability, no one was allowed in.
So far, no one else in the shelter knew exactly what Steven's Supernatural Ability was.
Steven shut the arena door and pulled out a compound bow from his extradimensional space.
Since absorbing Brittany's power, he could feel his cells buzzing with energy, like his whole body was supercharged.
He was itching to see just how much his Supernatural Ability had leveled up.
Steven drew the bow, nocked an arrow, and a flash of white light flickered in his right eye. His invisible, colorless Supernatural ability wrapped around the arrow.
To him, it was like he could see this invisible power.
It was faster, sharper, stronger!
Steven aimed at a target 1640 feet away, a distance he had never tried before.
He pulled the bow to its max, and the arrow shot out like a rocket!
In a blink, the target shattered!
Only after the target exploded did the sound reach his ears.
His arrow speed had actually broken the sound barrier!
Steven was blown away by his new Supernatural ability.
He looked at his hands and murmured, "I can't believe the power I got from plundering boosted my ability more than a month of hard training!"
Now, his arrows packed more punch than regular firearms!
Thinking of something, Steven put away the arrows and pulled out the Dragon Roar sword he had taken from Lily.
"Double speed!"
With his Supernatural Ability cranked up, his speed doubled.
And this time, Steven felt like he hadn't even hit his limit!
"Triple speed!"
"Quadruple speed!"
At quadruple speed, he finally felt the strain.
He swung the Dragon Roar sword, leaving afterimages that blurred the air!
Steven didn't stop; he pulled out some wooden stakes for sword practice from his extradimensional space.
At quadruple speed, the sharp Dragon Roar sword sliced through the thick wooden stakes like butter, the cuts smooth as glass!
Steven kept up this combat rhythm, pushing his Supernatural Ability.
After twenty minutes, he started to feel the exhaustion set in.
He quickly retracted his Supernatural Ability and grabbed some energy bars to refuel.
He murmured, "Man, my combat power has skyrocketed. Even if I run into some skilled fighters, I can hold my own!"
"But the best use of this ability is still for getting the heck out of dodge. With my long-range sniping so powerful, my best bet is to stay out of close combat." Steven quickly mapped out his combat strategy.
If he could run, he would run; close combat was a last resort!
He had to act like he was weak in close combat.
But if it came down to it, he could definitely surprise his opponent.
"If I could find a master to teach me a few moves, that would be even better." Steven sighed, wishing he could be an all-around warrior.
Because of this, he always stayed cautious, never underestimating any opponent.
Even against the weakest enemy, he gave it his all.
He didn't even realize how much fear he had already instilled in the West Mountain Base!
