Chapter 318 Blazing with Killing Intent!
After setting up the explosives, Steven spun around. "Let's bounce, we gotta get outta here now!"
As he moved, he pulled out a few more small explosives, slapping one on the door of each room they passed.
Lily was right on his heels, glancing towards the end of the second floor of the Life Warehouse, where Peter lived.
"Why don't we just take out Peter? If he's gone, the West Mountain Base will fall apart!"
Thinking about how Peter's orders had turned the West Mountain Base into such a mess, Lily felt a burning hatred for him.
Especially since Peter had also messed with her students, which made her even more disgusted as a woman.
Without looking back, Steven said, "Taking out one Peter will just bring another one. Ever thought the problem isn't the person, but the whole system at West Mountain Base?"
Lily opened her mouth but couldn't find any words to argue.
Because deep down, she knew Steven was right.
Steven said coldly, "This place is rotten to the core. It needs to be wiped out! Otherwise, it'll just keep breeding more evil."
Steven kept moving, with Henry and Earl right behind him.
The four of them rushed towards The Third Life Warehouse, and their odd behavior finally caught the eye of some special forces members.
"Hold it, where are you going?" A soldier pointed his gun at them.
As a special forces soldier, his sharp instincts told him something was off about these folks.
Especially since one of the guys had a cat following him.
No one at the West Mountain Base kept cats. There used to be some, but they all ended up as protein.
Honestly, if it weren't for the power outage causing poor lighting, they should've noticed these guys acting weird way earlier.
But Steven never planned to stay hidden for long.
"Quadruple speed!" Steven cranked up his speed and quickly fired a shot with his backhand.
The special forces guy's helmet got pierced, and he dropped dead on the spot.
It didn't matter anymore; Steven's setup was already done.
Even if they had top-notch bomb disposal experts, they wouldn't have enough time to defuse all the bombs in such a short period.
Yeah, the other bombs were out in the open to draw attention.
"They're not from the base!" Someone yelled. The fallen soldier alerted the others.
In a flash, these well-trained soldiers all raised their guns, aiming at Steven and his crew.
"Dimension Door!" Steven thrust his right hand forward, opening the Dimension Door.
In the narrow passage, it blocked all angles.
Gunfire erupted, bullets flying like a storm.
But not a single bullet got through the Dimension Door; they all vanished into the extradimensional space.
Lily couldn't help but take a deep look at Steven.
Back when she saw Steven's supernatural ability from the special forces' perspective, it seemed like a real pain.
But now, as Steven's teammate, this insanely strong defense made her feel super safe.
Finally, someone in the crowd recognized Steven's ability.
"Spatial supernatural ability, he's Steven!" The guy shouting was Shawn, who had followed Charles in attacking Steven's shelter.
Thinking about the traits of this ability, Shawn yelled in terror, "Stop shooting, everyone scatter!"
But it was too late.
Steven smirked, saying, "Full counterattack!"
The bullets absorbed by the extradimensional space suddenly shot back out!
The sound of bullets tearing through armor and flesh echoed continuously.
The seven or eight soldiers up front were instantly taken out.
The ones in the back had nowhere to go; the passage was just too narrow.
They had to use their fallen comrades as shields against the bullets.
After the bullet storm, Steven quickly pulled back.
But as he did, he waved his right hand, and dozens of grenades flew out from the extradimensional space, all with their pins pulled.
The soldiers' faces went pale when they saw the grenades.
"Hit the deck!!" they yelled.
The grenades bounced around, hitting the ground and walls in the tight passage, setting off a chain of explosions.
Screams and angry shouts filled the air, with limbs flying everywhere and the walls splattered with blood!
Steven shouted, "Fall back!"
They needed to get out of here, and fast. If they got surrounded, Steven's Dimension Door ability would be seriously limited.
After all, this power was one-way and couldn't defend from all angles.
Just then, the lights above started flickering.
"The power's about to come back on." Steven frowned.
If the systems at West Mountain Base came back online, they'd lose their edge in the chaos.
"Move it, let's get outta here!" Steven said.
The group quickly retreated.
But the special forces had already boxed them in.
News of Steven's arrival at West Mountain Base reached Charles and Peter.
Peter immediately issued the highest order to capture Steven at all costs!
Peter cursed, "Damn Steven, you're asking for trouble! Let's see how you fight me without that turtle shell protection!"
In Peter's room, the backup power had already kicked in.
Peter quickly suited up in protective gear, while several armed guards cautiously watched over him.
In The Second Life Warehouse, Charles led a team, burning for revenge against Steven.
"This time, you're not getting away!" Charles shouted, eyes blazing with killing intent.
With old and new grudges, Charles wanted to settle the score with Steven once and for all.
But right then, The Second Life Warehouse erupted into chaos.
People found yellow bombs stuck everywhere.
These bombs couldn't destroy walls but could kill people and suck out the oxygen, causing suffocation.
"Get bomb disposal experts on this, now!" Charles barked orders and stormed out to chase Steven.
To him, nothing was more important than taking Steven down right now!
Steven and his crew fought as they retreated.
Following Charles's orders, the special forces and regular soldiers focused all their efforts on Steven's group.
No matter which way Steven's group tried to go, they ran into a wall of soldiers.
Steven opened the Dimension Door, soaking up the soldiers' gunfire and then counterattacking, taking out many soldiers.
But the soldiers had been warned and stopped shooting blindly. Instead, they tried to stall Steven and his group, buying time for Charles and other top officers to arrive.
"Get rid of them, let's break through! Don't get bogged down here!" Steven didn't want to face those pesky psychics either.
Henry said, "I got this!"
Henry activated his supernatural ability, his body rapidly growing, tearing through his tough protective suit, and turning into a muscle giant over 6.5 feet tall.
This size almost blocked the passage.
Henry charged forward, heading straight for the soldiers in their way.
The bullets hit Henry, making loud noises but not doing any real damage.
Henry, like a human tank, plowed into the dozen soldiers in front of them, sending them flying.
