Chapter 407 One Person, One Gun

Steven, armed with a single gun, single-handedly rendered the entire Silverlake Base defenseless, forcing them to temporarily retreat.

Gunfire continued to echo across the snowy plains, each bullet striking fear into the hearts of the Silverlake Base members.

Oliver couldn't stay calm. "If this continues, who knows how many people he'll kill! I'm going over."

With that, he opened the car door and jumped out of the vehicle.

Braving the freezing snow, he agilely climbed onto the car like a monkey, then leaped to shield the rear of the last two vehicles.

In the next moment, his body elongated and widened, forming a massive barrier at the back of the last few cars.

A sniper bullet hit his body directly.

However, it didn't penetrate; the bullet's impact only caused the steel plate behind the car to dent deeply before falling powerlessly into the snow.

A pained expression appeared on Oliver's face.

The bullet's power was immense. Even though his Supernatural ability could resist most physical attacks, the pain was still hard to ignore.

This also proved that the shooter was an incredibly powerful Psychic!

Steven had no idea that a Psychic had blocked his bullet.

He just kept shooting in that direction.

He wasn't short on bullets; whenever the gun barrel overheated, he simply switched to another one.

After seizing the West Mountain Base's armory, he had five of these heavy snipers!

Five or six minutes later, the Silverlake Base crew had vanished from Steven's view, disappearing over the horizon.

"They bailed? Guess they're waiting for backup before making another move," Steven sneered. "But whoever shows up better come prepared—they'll have a hell of a time dodging my shots."

Over the communication device, everyone noticed the gunfire had stopped and quickly inquired about Steven's status. "Steven, what's their situation?"

Steven replied calmly, "I killed dozens of them, and then they all retreated. They're probably waiting for other forces to join them before attacking together."

Everyone was shocked.

"You've already taken out dozens of people? My God, Steven, you're incredible!" Earl exclaimed in astonishment.

From the start of the gunfire until now, it had been less than ten minutes.

Steven had single-handedly repelled the Silverlake Base convoy, killing dozens almost effortlessly!

He now realized that the first line of defense wasn't them.

Steven, with his heavy sniper's range, was the true first line of defense for the shelter!

Steven, however, remained incredibly calm. "What's so strange about that? It's just basic operation."

If he couldn't even achieve this level, it'd be a total waste of all the Psychic energy he'd soaked up.

If you were to rank Supernatural abilities, Steven would probably be sitting at the top in all of Starlight City.

Just by taking down Charles, he'd absorbed the power of one of the city's elite Psychics. No contest.

"Long-range sniping and defense are my strengths. If they push past my range and hit the defense, it's on you to shut them down. And if it comes to it, I can handle a few psychics up close with my combat skills," Steven said.

Martial Prowess combined with Precision shooting within a 1,000-foot combat range was many times more powerful than a sniper rifle!

Unless the Psychic had extremely strong defensive abilities, they couldn't defend against this skill.

Earl chuckled, "Let's see if they have the strength to survive your sniping!"

Steven showed no sign of pride.

Because to him, this was just a trivial matter.

If he could one day snip a powerful Psychic like Charles from 3 miles away, that would be true strength!

At this moment, at a safe distance from the Silverlake Base, Leonard immediately ordered a casualty report.

The reported data was grim.

"One vehicle is completely destroyed, and three others are severely damaged, making it very difficult to drive them back."

"Two squad leaders are lightly injured, and 35 regular soldiers are dead!"

Leonard's face was extremely grim.

They had brought a total of 300 elite warriors!

And before even approaching Steven's shelter, they had already lost a tenth of their force!

"How the hell did this happen? Worst opening ever! Steven's got a psychic on his team who's straight-up OP!" Leonard shouted.

As a top-tier psychic himself, Leonard knew the score. He'd never seen—or even imagined—someone sniping from two miles out, punching through steel and body armor like it was paper.

"Could Starlight City have a Level 5 psychic? No, it's not that crazy. His long-range game's strong, so he's gotta be weak up close." Leonard made his judgement. "Can't max out one skill without leaving a gap somewhere else. Nobody's a perfect fighter. So, if we can get close to the shelter and use blind spots to dodge his shots, we're fine. Once we're inside, that sniper's done."

Oliver opened the car door and walked up, his expression pained from the attack he had endured while blocking Steven's bullets. "The enemy sniper is terrifying! We can't attack head-on anymore. I think we should take a detour, even if it means going a long way around."

Leonard stroked the stubble on his chin. "A detour?"

Based on Steven's effective shooting radius of 2 miles, they would have to take a big detour.

Oliver took out a satellite phone and opened a map on it.

Pointing to the location of Cox Town, he said, "Attacking from here would be better! There are many cover points to avoid being sniped."

Leonard nodded, "That's a good idea, but let's not rush. Let's find a place to hide first."

"Hide?" Oliver was puzzled, "We've already been discovered. What's the point of hiding now?"

Leonard smirked, a cold edge in his eyes. "Why should we take the full brunt of that sniper's firepower? Let the other forces get a taste of what it's like to be hunted."

Oliver suddenly understood.

The four forces were only temporarily cooperating. After this battle, they might fight over territory again.

So, leveraging the sniper's power to make the other forces suffer heavy losses was something Leonard was happy to see.
