Chapter 30 Quality Pursuers
Ivy continued, "There are still five packs of snacks and three bags of bread left. There's only half a bottle of meat sauce in the kitchen, but we ran out of noodles a long time ago."
Alice held her head in pain.
"Snacks, snacks! They never fill you up!"
Ivy stared at her intently. "Alice, the situation outside is really bad right now. Do you think this heavy snowfall will ever stop?"
Alice hesitated for a moment, then turned her head blankly to look out the window.
Through the frosted glass, she could vaguely see the snowflakes continuously falling from the sky.
It had been ten days, and the snow had been falling incessantly, without a break.
The second floor was completely submerged, making it impossible for them to leave.
The distant streets were eerily silent, with no sign of the official snowplows.
Alice's heart sank, filled with despair.
She had no idea how long this snow disaster would last.
Or if it would ever end at all.
Covering her eyes, Alice cried out in agony, "Ivy, what are we going to do? If this continues, we'll starve to death."
Ivy clenched her teeth and asked, "Is there any food left at Paul's place?"
Alice shook her head. "I've asked him several times, even pretended to befriend him. But I've completely drained him, so he has nothing left."
"Last time he brought me two pieces of bread, that was his last bit of food. He's so thin now, like a monster, he definitely doesn't have anything to eat."
Ivy, unwilling to accept this, clenched her fists. "Then, is there anyone else we can try?"
"You see, we're both so pretty, as long as we make a move, there must be men willing to be attracted to us!"
Alice glanced at her, somewhat displeased. "Are you stupid? Everyone now treats supplies like their lives."
"Even if they might be attracted to us, they won't just give us supplies that easily."
"And with the weather so cold, even if we offer ourselves to them, they probably have the desire but not the ability."
As Alice spoke, a hint of pain flashed in her eyes.
Ivy didn't know that Alice had already tried this method.
She attempted to exchange her beauty for supplies from men.
However, her standards were too high.
She demanded the man to be six feet tall, have a high-paying job, and earn at least $7,000 a month before she would offer her body.
Even the sixty-year-old neighbor expressed, "You came too late. If you had come half a month earlier, I might have liked you."
Ivy bit her lip, feeling very afraid.
As a woman with some looks, she had planned to use her beauty as a last resort for survival.
But clearly, freezing temperature was the perfect remedy for desire.
Suddenly, the image of a man flashed in her mind.
She said to Alice, "By the way, Alice. Have you forgotten that you have a pursuer?"
Alice, of course, knew who Ivy was referring to.
She pursed her lips and said stubbornly, "That man, unless he comes to beg for my forgiveness, I will never seek him out!"
She had contacted Steven several times before, giving him a chance to come and please her with supplies.
But Steven's attitude was too cold towards her, and he even sent photos to deliberately provoke her.
It made Alice very angry, vowing to make Steven come and beg her.
If she were to contact him now, wouldn't it ruin her noble goddess image?
No, that was absolutely unacceptable for Alice!
If her image were ruined, how could she find a rich second-generation in the future?
Ivy said, "Have you forgotten that Steven had hoarded quite a bit of food before? Even though it's been a month, he probably has more supplies than an average household."
"As long as you reach out to him, he will definitely agree to bring you food."
Upon hearing about food, Alice was also stirred.
But she hesitated. "But, when I contacted him before, he was so cold."
Ivy said, "You're silly! He probably thinks he's not good enough for you, so he wanted to give up. After all, you were quite cold to him before."
Alice immediately became excited.
"That's all his fault! Clearly, he's not very wealthy, yet he acts like a rich second-generation, making me waste so much energy on him!"
Ivy chuckled, "But now he's a quality pursuer! His is just what you need, right? Give him a little smile, reignite the flame of hope in his heart. Then he'll be at your mercy, won't he?"
