Chapter 180 Blackmail

Steven calmly said, "Mr. Wallace, don't joke like that. Do you think a small supervisor like me has that kind of power?"

Dawson snorted coldly. "Steven, I've lived long enough to see more than you can imagine. Do you think I'd say this without evidence?"

He continued, "Let me tell you, through your phone network, I can gather a lot of information about you."

He said firmly, "You definitely have the stolen goods from the Walmart warehouse!"

Steven's eyes filled with murderous intent. He gritted his teeth and cursed in his heart, 'Damn old man! I must kill you!'

Emerald Estate truly lived up to its reputation as the top wealthy area in Starlight City, full of hidden talents.

This was something Steven hadn't considered and couldn't have considered.

Life was unpredictable!

Steven knew he couldn't hide it any longer, so he coldly said, "I do have some of the goods, but most of them have been sold for money. After all, my house isn't big enough to store too much stuff."

Dawson nodded, thinking this explanation was reasonable.

In fact, he didn't believe all the stolen goods from the Walmart warehouse were in Steven's hands.

Because in his logic, there was no such thing as a space-based supernatural ability.

"That's not important. As long as I spread the news, your life will definitely become difficult," he pointed out. "So, do you agree to my demands?"

However, deep down, Steven knew the truth. If Dawson chose to spread the news, it was very likely that everyone would know he had the stolen goods from the Walmart warehouse.

Not to mention distant places, everyone in Starlight City would crave the goods in his hands.

If they dug deeper, it might even expose his space-based supernatural ability.

At that point, it would be all over!

Steven knew that Starlight City still hid many powerful forces.

Those with power and influence were lurking underground!

They also had strong armed forces.

Even with strong protection, Steven didn't want to attract that kind of trouble.

He rubbed his forehead and said to Dawson in a deep voice, "Fine, I can give you some supplies. But you absolutely cannot leak my information. Otherwise, I'll kill you first!"

Dawson was overjoyed and repeatedly agreed. "Don't worry. I'm not stupid. This matter stays between us, and we'll have a pleasant cooperation."

Seeing his goal achieved, Dawson laughed heartily.

Then, he started making demands. "I need food, wine, underwear, and cotton socks. Bring these things to me."

Steven asked, "How do I give the goods to you?"

Dawson hesitated for a moment and said, "I live in Villa 302. Bring the goods to my door!"

"Don't try any tricks, or I'll expose your information. Then, you won't have a peaceful life!" he added.

Steven said, "Don't worry. I'm living very comfortably now, and I don't want to cause myself trouble."

After saying that, Steven hung up the phone, his eyes filled with intense murderous intent.

He had been blackmailed!

'This Dawson must die; there's no other possibility!' Steven thought.

Murderous intent filled Steven's mind.

At this moment, he wanted to grab a gun and rush into Dawson's house to kill him!

But reason told him that this was obviously not reliable.

Dawson, being a worldly-wise person, dared to give Steven his address; he was clearly not afraid of Steven coming over.

Steven took a few deep breaths.

He rubbed his head, feeling unable to stay calm, his thought process overheating.

Thinking of this, he left the basement to find Elinor.

Elinor was sitting on the couch in the living room, reading a book.

She was wearing a light purple camisole and shorts.

Her long, smooth legs were crossed on the couch, her delicate feet looking cute.

Elinor had a model's figure, and those long legs were especially eye-catching, Steven's favorite.

He walked over, covered her face with his hands from behind, and kissed her hard on the lips.

It felt sweet and cool.

He said, "Darling, I need to talk to you about something."

Elinor smiled, curling her legs and tilting her head. "Sure!"

Steven sat down next to her, took her water cup, and drank a sip.

"Here's the thing. Our location has been discovered." He briefly explained the situation with Dawson to Elinor.

Of course, he hid the fact that he had emptied the Walmart warehouse.

He only told her that Dawson knew he had a lot of goods and was blackmailing him.

After listening, Elinor also felt the situation was troublesome.

Steven said, "You've dealt with people like this more than I have. In your opinion, what will he do?"

Elinor thought seriously for a while before cautiously sharing her thoughts.

"I have indeed encountered such people. They may not be as cunning as ordinary people think, but their intelligence is definitely high!" She looked at Steven and added, "And their moral standards are very low!"

"A person with high moral standards cannot become a successful businessman." Steven nodded. "I understand that!"

Many famous big entrepreneurs had suddenly gone to jail.

Any success often required making tough decisions and navigating gray areas..

Without a low moral baseline, they couldn't grow their business.

"I want to kill him. But I'm worried he has some backup plan, which is why I don't dare to act."

Steven continued, "But letting him live means I'll be blackmailed forever. I can't tolerate that!"

Elinor nodded.

She understood Steven's temper. "The biggest threat he holds over you is the information he has. If that information gets out, it could be dangerous for you. Right?"

Steven nodded. "Exactly."

Elinor frowned, lightly biting her pink finger and murmuring, "That's bad!"

"What do you mean?" Steven asked.

Elinor looked at him, her eyes sparkling.

She said, "I've heard of something similar before. An internet mogul was colluding with a corrupt official. When the official was investigated, they found the internet mogul."

"The corrupt official, to eliminate evidence, had the internet mogul killed. But in the end, the evidence in the mogul's hands was exposed online!"

Steven said, "I think I've heard that story, too. The mogul stored the evidence in a cloud drive, set to automatically release online. Unless he manually stopped it every day, it would go out."

"So, when he died, the evidence spread all over the internet the next day."

Elinor nodded. "That's what I'm most worried about! Even if we kill him, it might not stop our information from leaking!"
