Chapter 19 Giving You a Cold Water Bath
Andrew finally felt scared.
He took out his phone and called the emergency center.
But the call kept failing. Andrew dialed for more than two minutes, and it kept showing a busy line.
Andrew's heart sank. At this time, the outside world was freezing cold, and even the hospital was in a state of shutdown.
Even if the hospital was still operating, with the city snowed in, an ambulance could not rescue him.
Andrew was determined. After hesitating for a long time, he decided to perform surgery on himself.
At the very least, he needed to remove the arrow.
After a difficult journey back home, he took a knife, an alcohol lamp, gauze, and hemostatic drugs from the drawer.
Given his frequent fights with others, he naturally kept these things at home.
Andrew cut open his pant leg with the knife. When he saw the wound, his face turned pale with fear.
Under the extreme cold, the wound on his leg had already frozen.
Although this temporarily stopped the bleeding, the area around the wound had started to turn purple, and his lower leg had completely lost sensation.
Andrew felt extremely desperate. He knew that, at this moment, he could only rely on self-rescue.
Luckily, he was experienced in treating wounds. After some thought, he began to perform surgery on himself.
Due to the frostbite on his lower leg, the numbness dulled the pain significantly.
So, even without anesthesia, he completed the surgery.
However, the process was so painful that he almost died.
And that leg was clearly crippled.
Andrew lay on the sofa, panting heavily. His eyes were filled with resentment towards Steven, who shot him with an arrow!
"Steven, you scoundrel, I will definitely kill you, I swear!"
Andrew's eyes were full of killing intent.
He was not joking; he was serious about killing Steven!
Otherwise, he would lose all respect in Starlight City.
Andrew picked up his phone. Since Steven had blocked him, he had to mention Steven in the homeowners group.
"Steven, you wicked man, wait and see. I won't rest until I kill you!"
The homeowners didn't actually know what had happened.
However, upon learning that Steven had offended Andrew, they couldn't help but feel afraid for him.
Andrew was a real bully, and he was ruthless!
However, if they knew that Steven had shot him with an arrow and crippled his leg, they would probably be too shocked to speak.
Yet, some people were very excited.
For example, Clara, who had been cold-shouldered by Steven before, said happily, "Great! I hope they fight fiercely, neither of them is good!"
"I hope that thug Andrew beats Steven to death so that he never dares to insult me again!"
Alice also saw the message in the group.
She sneered. She actually hoped that Steven would get a beating from Andrew.
After all, Steven had been so indifferent to her, not even caring about her, the goddess, and no longer actively helping her!
However, no one dared to speak in the group, fearing that this matter would involve them.
Steven saw the message and burst into laughter.
As long as he didn't leave the safe house, he wasn't afraid of a hundred Andrews!
Steven sent a voice message on his phone.
"Who do you think you are? You're just a good-for-nothing who knows how to curse! If you dare to provoke me again, I'll cripple your other leg too!"
The homeowners in the group were shocked to hear this voice message.
They hadn't expected Steven to dare to oppose Andrew!
And it seemed like he had also injured one of Andrew's legs.
Andrew gripped his phone tightly, almost breaking it.
"Steven, wait, I will definitely kill you!"
Steven was unapologetic, "Good-for-nothing! If you dare, come and try! Let's see who dies first!"
It had to be said that after the apocalypse, Steven had become bolder.
Without so many rules and social-moral constraints, he was now fearless and very happy!
On the other hand, Andrew was furious.
After returning home, he gradually regained consciousness with the meager effect of the air conditioning.
But the intense pain in his leg made him grimace.
Now, if he wanted to move, he could only rely on a cane.
After careful consideration, Andrew felt that killing Steven wouldn't be difficult.
He believed that being shot with an arrow was just due to his carelessness.
Now that he was prepared, he could easily call his men to storm Steven's house and kill him!
Given the extreme cold and the shutdown of hospitals and police stations, now was the best time to kill someone.
Andrew immediately called his men, instructing them to bring their weapons and help him get rid of Steven.
Many of Andrew's men lived nearby. After receiving Andrew's orders, they brought knives, baseball bats, and steel pipes to Andrew's house.
Seeing the wound on Andrew's leg, these men clamored to beat up that person and avenge Andrew.
Andrew coldly said, "I'm fine. Once the snow melts in a few days, I'll go to the hospital for recovery."
"But this scoundrel dared to shoot me with an arrow, he's provoking me!"
One of the men said, "Mr. Jenkins, tell me his room number, and I'll go chop him up now!"
Andrew nodded, "He lives in 2401 in this building. But this man is very cunning; he has a crossbow. He ambushed me with it."
A man raised a steel pipe and exclaimed, "This man is too cunning! He actually used an ambush!"
Andrew said, "Be careful when you go. I know he lives alone. As long as you don't let him shoot you, break into his house, and you can easily kill him!"
Andrew's men were desperados. Although they knew Steven had weapons, they weren't afraid.
Instead, they were excited.
With the city snowed in, no one was in control. They could openly go and beat people up.
The malice in human nature was unleashed in them without restraint.
So, they armed themselves and headed to Steven's house, intending to break in.
Steven also knew that Andrew wouldn't just let it go and would definitely come for revenge.
However, Steven was not the least bit nervous.
He was at home, playing games and monitoring the situation in the entire building on a split screen.
When Andrew's dozen or so men arrived at Steven's door, he saw them clearly.
His table was filled with equipment, ready for them to come in and retaliate fiercely.
After all, those bad guys deserved what was coming to them, and Steven had no intention of showing any mercy.
Soon, Andrew's men reached Steven's doorstep.
They knew Steven had a crossbow, so they were cautious when approaching.
Several of them held wooden boards as shields in front.
When they arrived at Steven's door, they only acted when they felt safe.
"Open up!"
"Damn, daring to shoot Mr. Jenkins, today we will definitely kill you!"
"It's your death anniversary today, open up!"
They cursed loudly while using hammers and iron bars they brought to fiercely pound on Steven's house door.
They wanted to break in, teach Steven a lesson, and then hand him over to Andrew for further action.
Meanwhile, Steven was playing games, unruffled.
He was stuck at the boss of the first level, dying seven or eight times without passing, and he was feeling frustrated.
Hearing the cursing and banging outside, Steven, annoyed, shouted, "Can't you put in a little more effort? Haven't you eaten yet?!"
Upon hearing Steven's arrogance, these men grew angrier and intensified their efforts.
However, the security door, made of 8-inch thick alloy, was difficult to open even with a small explosion, let alone their primitive smashing methods.
After much effort, the metal door only had a few small white spots, merely scratching the paint.
They couldn't even dent it, let alone break it down.
The men were dumbfounded.
"WTF, this door is pure metal! So thick, how do we break it?!"
"Shit, how many enemies does this guy have?!"
They were very surprised.
But when they came, they had made a promise to Andrew that they would beat Steven half to death and bring him back.
Now that they couldn't break the door, they couldn't fulfill their duty. So, they continued to pound on the door and curse outside.
Steven's game character died again.
Listening to the noise of those useless people outside, he was finally fed up.
He went to the kitchen, connected a water pipe to the faucet, climbed up to the shooting hole, and aimed the water at them.
The rushing water in the narrow corridor was like torrential rain, instantly soaking them.
