Chapter 408 Full Counterattack

The loss of dozens of subordinates put Leonard in a bad mood.

However, it also provided him with an important piece of information: the sniper's effectiveness against Psychics was limited.

At least with Oliver's defense, the sniper rifle couldn't penetrate.

"Regular grunts are just cannon fodder now. Is the future of warfare really gonna be all about Psychics?" Leonard got to see this point clearer.

He chose to stay put and wouldn't inform the other three shelters about the sniper.

Not long after, another convoy from Emberwick Base arrived from a different direction.

They faced the same situation.

As they entered Steven's effective shooting range, Steven's hunt officially began!

This time, with experience, Steven got smarter.

First, he shot out the car tires!

Then, he shot the drivers!

As several cars broke down one after another, the Emberwick Base convoy experienced the same chaos.

Their first reaction was to rely on the cars to find the hidden sniper.

Even the script was the same.

Without Leonard's warning, the tactics in such an encounter wouldn't differ much.

After all, they believed in their superior numbers and advanced weapons, thinking it impossible to retreat immediately after being sniped, instead aiming to take out the hidden sniper.

This mistake allowed Steven to methodically kill them one by one.

Heads turned into blood mist, and limbs and hands exposed through car gaps were blown apart.

"My hand, my hand!" The dead were lucky; the wounded suffered the most, lying on the ground in agonizing screams.

Steven had no intention of killing them because they were already doomed. Letting them scream longer would affect the people of Emberwick Base.

Megan quickly organized her soldiers to counterattack. "Hurry, find that damn sniper and take him out!"

But no matter how hard the people of Emberwick Base searched, they couldn't find the hidden sniper.

Who would've thought someone could take a shot from 2 miles out?

Even if they managed to spot him, there wasn't a single Psychic or sharpshooter in all of Starlight City who could hit back at Steven from that distance. No way.

Suddenly, a white figure flashed to the front of the convoy.

A bullet came towards the convoy, and the white figure directly faced it.

In mid-air, sparks flew as Steven's bullet was deflected!

However, the white figure was also knocked back several steps.

"Finally, a formidable opponent?" Steven smiled.

He saw the figure clearly.

It was a tall, thin person with a wolf-like or dog-like head, covered in silver-gray fur.

This was an Orcs system Psychic—no wonder he had the speed and strength to knock Steven's bullet off course!

The moment Steven spotted him, the Orc locked eyes right back.

Dog eyes could pick up stuff human eyes couldn't.

"From that far out?" Valentin Dobbins' eyes narrowed. Even he had to admit, this was a tough one.

With Valentin's skills and speed, if it were one-on-one, he'd close the gap and take Steven down in seconds!

But now, Steven was holed up in a shelter, and Valentin couldn't just charge in blind.

Before he could think it through, Steven's bullet came again.

Valentin bared his sharp fangs, moving like a ghost to block the bullet with his body.

Steven attacked unhurriedly.

After all, he was only consuming bullets and some Supernatural ability, while Valentin could die from a single mistake!

This kind of risk-free deal was his favorite.

One shot.

Two shots.

Three shots.

Valentin finally felt the strain, his claws trembling.

Even for a robust Orcs system Psychic, deflecting three heavy sniper bullets was too much.

But as he staggered back, he didn't show anger; instead, he smiled.

"Preparation complete!"

At that moment, a window on an armored vehicle in the convoy opened, revealing a dark green cannon barrel.

The gunner aimed at Steven's position, and a shell roared out, reaching Steven in moments.

Steven frowned slightly.

Emberwick Base had brought heavy weapons.

But the shell disappeared into a Dimension Door without destroying anyone or anything.

The gunners eagerly awaited the familiar explosion.

But after a few seconds, they saw nothing.

"Dud?" A gunner looked puzzled.

The next moment, a bullet came and cut his body in half, dropping him heavily into the vehicle.

Horrific screams echoed from the vehicle.

The other gunners were so scared they felt nauseous, struggling to swallow the food in their throats.

Then they roared, preparing to fire back!

On the battlefield, the more afraid of death you are, the easier you die. Attack is the best defense.

But that only applies when the power gap isn't too large.

Several more shells whistled towards Steven's loft.

But moments later, the shells flew back the way they came!

"Not good!!"

Everyone's faces changed dramatically. Their convoy was too dense; if the shells landed, who knew how many would die!

Even Megan's face turned serious.

They had no Psychics skilled in defense.

Valentin roared, his eyes bloodshot, his body growing larger.

He leaped into the air, using his body to alter the shells' trajectories!

But the shells' power was incomparable to sniper bullets; he could only slightly affect their paths with all his might.

Four shells deviated from their original paths, exploding near the convoy, sending snow flying!

The violent tremors made all the cars tilt, but fortunately, there were no major casualties.

However, Valentin was blown away, blood trickling from his mouth.

Megan's brows furrowed, and she decisively ordered, "Retreat!"
