Chapter 479 Plan to Annihilate the Horde of Corpses
Otha picked up a black body bag from beside his feet and laid it out on the ground in front of the church.
He unzipped it, revealing a humanoid creature covered in white fur.
"This is the Zombie King!" Otha announced to the crowd.
Everyone got up and gathered around to get a closer look.
When they saw the so-called Zombie King, they looked a bit let down.
They had expected something more mysterious and terrifying, but it just looked like a regular corpse with fur.
Steven asked, "Is this thing powerful?"
Otha replied, "The Zombie King can control hordes of zombies and has pretty high intelligence, maybe even like a human. But it's not strong in a fight."
Steven nodded, feeling a bit relieved.
As long as it wasn't a combat beast, it would be easier to handle.
He had thought the Zombie King would be way stronger than the Bronze Elite Zombie, which would be a nightmare.
"It sounds like a swarm leader. The Zombie King is smart and can make more zombies, but it can't fight well itself," Steven said.
Sebastian glanced at him. "What, you wanted it to be stronger? If it were, we'd be toast!"
That was true.
Luckily, the Zombie King had a big weakness.
If it were powerful and could control all those zombies and rats, Starlight City wouldn't stand a chance.
Fear comes from the unknown. Now that they knew what the Zombie King was, everyone felt a bit less scared.
But Steven didn't relax too much.
If this was the Zombie King, there had to be more than one in Starlight City.
And how did the Zombie King come to be?
Without figuring that out, they couldn't solve the problem completely.
Otha then explained how they planned to kill the other Zombie Kings.
"The zombie hordes attack humans every day. But the Zombie King is fragile and hides deep in the subway tunnels."
"So, we need someone to lure the zombie army outside. Then, a group of elite fighters will go into the tunnels to kill the Zombie King and stop the zombie attacks!"
"Without the Zombie King's command, the zombies will be easy to handle. No matter how many there are, they won't be much of a threat."
Neil suddenly got it. "So you want to use our entire Snowfall Cult as bait? Lure the zombies out, and then you go underground to deal with the Zombie King?"
His eyes flashed with anger.
Natasha's eyes also showed a hint of something, but she remained quiet.
Leonard laughed, "No need to get so worked up! Your Snowfall Cult has the most people in Starlight City. It makes sense to use your place as the battlefield!"
Otha faced Neil's anger with a blank expression and said, "It sounds harsh, but yeah, that's the plan."
"Plus, you guys don't have the top-notch defense systems like the other four groups."
"But don't sweat it too much. All the armed forces from every faction are here now, so your safety is pretty much guaranteed."
Neil gritted his teeth and said seriously, "But won't this bring all the zombie hordes in Starlight City right to us?"
Otha adjusted his sunglasses and replied coolly, "If that happens, it would actually be perfect. It would allow us to end the zombie problem in Starlight City once and for all."
Neil suddenly raised his voice, "What about the lives of our Snowfall Cult members? Do they mean nothing to you?"
Megan chimed in with a playful expression, "Neil, you need to be more rational!"
"Think about it. If we don't deal with the zombies, won't your Snowfall Cult keep losing people?"
She spread her hands and said calmly, "Not like you, even if things get really bad, we have one last option—seal our people in the shelters completely."
"With those military-grade facilities, no matter how many zombies there are, they can't break through!"
"But what about you? With so many people and such weak defenses, do you really think you can hold out for long?"
Megan's voice had a hint of sarcasm, but her expression was serious.
Everyone knew she was speaking the harsh truth about Starlight City.
If any faction in Starlight City were to be wiped out first by the zombies, it would definitely be the Snowfall Cult!
Neil's face turned even paler. "That's still not a reason to use our people as bait!"
Otha finally spoke up, "Why can't your Snowfall Cult members be used as bait?"
Neil and Natasha were stunned.
Could he really ask that question so bluntly?
Otha looked at them and said coldly, "We traveled all the way from Teksbo City to face the zombie crisis with you."
"Now, all seven of us are here. The entire armed forces of the other factions are here too!"
"If you say your congregation is bait, then aren't we also bait? Did I ever let you face this crisis alone?"
Otha's powerful words left Neil speechless.
Otha and his group had no beef with the Snowfall Cult.
They didn't come all this way to stir up trouble, they came to help the local forces in Starlight City deal with the zombie crisis.
Neil gritted his teeth. He could understand Otha's choice, but he still felt resentful.
At this moment, Steven spoke up slowly, "You have to understand, we're the ones on the front lines. Even if we have to die, we'll die first."
Steven pointed to the leaders of the various factions. "All our armed forces are here to protect your congregation. What more do you want?"
Of course, Steven was just being polite.
If things went south, others might hesitate to escape because of their large forces, but Steven and his small group wouldn't have such concerns.
Neil's expression was conflicted, seeming to understand they had no right to refuse. Otha explaining to him was already a sign of respect.
He finally sighed helplessly. "Alright, I get it! But Mr. Soderberg, you need to give us a solid battle plan!"
