Chapter 166 Setting Up Rules
Nora truly lived up to being a boss; she had a clear understanding when it cames to transactions.
Steven didn't mind; in fact, he quite liked this way of interacting.
He always hated beating around the bush.
Steven glanced outside; it was already getting dark; after all, it was winter.
It looked like he wouldn't be able to leave tonight!
"It's getting late, so let's rest," Steven said.
The wind and snow gradually stopped, and the sound of the wind outside faded away.
Steven took out a few pieces of clothing from the extradimensional space and placed them by the bed.
"Here are some new clothes. Go ahead and get changed."
Seeing Steven's ability to retrieve items from thin air, Nora's eyes widened. "What kind of ability is this?"
"A little trick," Steven said with a smile.
He turned to leave but was stopped by Nora's charming voice.
"Please don't go!" she asked.
Steven raised an eyebrow and asked with a smile, "Why?Do you have something else?"
"There are some things we need to talk about." Nora's face turned slightly red.
Although she had mentally prepared herself before, she wasn't a casual woman.
Her relationship with Steven left her feeling confused, to the point where she didn't dare to meet his eyes.
Steven stretched and then said, "I'm a bit hungry; let's go to the living room! We can talk while we eat."
Nora nodded, naturally having no objections, and her eyes lit up at the mention of food.
Not long after, the two of them were sitting on the living room sofa.
After freshening up, Nora had regained her elegant demeanor.
Her hair was styled in an updo, exuding the aura of a noblewoman.
She wore a black off-shoulder cocktail dress, highlighting her rounded shoulders and deep cleavage.
Elegance never went out of style.
Even in the apocalypse, her aura still made people feel delighted.
Even if he just kept her at home as a beautiful decoration, it wouldn't be a bad thing.
Steven, in a casual yet surprising move, lay on the sofa and produced some hot food, placing it on the table. This action left Nora utterly dumbfounded, her eyes wide with amazement. To her, it appeared as if Steven were performing magic, conjuring sustenance out of thin air.
"Let's talk while we eat, so we can clear things up and avoid future troubles," he said.
Steven took a bite of a hot cheeseburger and began to lay down the rules for her.
"My house is so big that having one more woman isn't too much. I only have one requirement for you, and that is to 'be obedient.'"
He continued, "You're smart, so you should understand what I mean, right?"
Nora bit her lip, still feeling embarrassed about what had just happened.
"I understand, in our entertainment industry, this kind of thing isn't unusual," she replied.
Steven nodded in satisfaction.
Steven thought, 'Good, dealing with sensible people is always easier.'
He didn't have many demands for Nora.
He kept her as a beautiful decoration at home.
When Elinor arrived, the two women could share the household chores, taking turns each day, so the pressure wouldn't be too much.
However, when Steven had orders, they would inevitably have to work overtime.
Thinking of this, Steven suddenly frowned.
He muttered, "I remember when I bought those medicines from Derek, did I get that kind? I'll have to check later."
Sitting not far from him, Nora suppressed her shyness and proudly raised her chest to negotiate with Steven.
"I can agree to your demands. But I also hope you can follow a few principles."
Steven smiled and nonchalantly spread his hands, "Let's hear them!"
Nora continued in a charming voice, "First, our relationship is limited to the snowstorm period. If we part ways one day, I hope you won't reveal what happened here."
"After all, I'm a public figure. If people find out what I did with you here, my future would be ruined," she explained.
Steven slightly pursed his lips.
Like Barry and Herbert, she also harbored fantasies about society returning to its previous state after the snowstorm.
As always, those who enjoyed the most social benefits were the least willing to see the collapse of traditional society.
But he still readily agreed. "Okay, I won't easily reveal what we did."
Nora felt a long sigh of relief when she saw Steven agree to this condition.
After all, she was a popular national idol, and anyone who had any interaction with her would be excited to brag about it.
"Second, I will follow your demands. But sometimes, you can't force me to do things I don't want to do." As she said this, she bit her lip, her voice growing smaller.
Making such a request took a lot of courage.
But she still decided to clarify things with Steven from the start.
She felt deeply ashamed about using herself as a bargaining chip.
But then again, it seemed a bit late to say this now.
Even if she pretended to be an independent, strong woman, her dignity was lost, and she had been completely taken by Steven, so her words didn't carry much weight.
She could only hope that Steven's affection for her would lead him to respect her.
Seeing Nora's face filled with humiliation, shyness, and struggle, Steven felt an inexplicable joy.
'Blame it on my youthful ignorance, treating a young girl like a treasure.'
He moved closer to Nora, and a look of fear flashed in her eyes.
'Oh God, what does he want to do?' Nora thought.
Nora instinctively raised her slender arm, trying to keep Steven at a distance.
But she was pulled into Steven's arms.
The unexpected closeness sent a flush of color to her cheeks, deepening the hue of her blush. She averted her gaze, her head turning away from Steven, lacking the courage to meet his eyes.
With an evil smile, Steven pinched her delicate chin, forcing her to turn her face back.
He whispered in her ear, "You came to me on your own, so don't always look so aggrieved."
"Even if we're just playing a game and getting what we need, I hope you can always perform well as a popular actress." He added, "At least that way, I'll be happier, and it will be good for you, too, right?"
Steven's domineering gaze made her heart tremble.
However, she wasn't willing to completely give up the chance to resist.
"Then you have to agree to my conditions first." Steven laughed indifferently. "Don't worry. I'm not a devil!"
"As long as you behave yourself, I won't make things too difficult for you," he said.
Yes, he wouldn't embarrass Nora, but he didn't say he wouldn't make things difficult.
Nora glared at him angrily, but she could only pout and complain silently.
