Chapter 401 Sebastian Legion

It wasn't until noon that Sebastian arrived in Cox Town with a group of his men.

Their slow pace made Steven suspect that their transportation wasn't very convenient.

However, since they were operating on his turf, he had nothing to fear.

Steven called Henry and Earl, took Fluffy, and got ready to head out.

As for Lily, she was still lost in her own world, unable to snap out of it.

However, her state had become quite strange.

She no longer complained to anyone but stayed in her room alone every day, holding a broadsword and thinking quietly.

Steven didn't know if this state was good or bad.

He didn't want to disturb her for the time being, so he didn't call her to join them.

The group took a snowmobile and cautiously headed across the river.

By this time, Sebastian had already arrived in Cox Town with dozens of people.

As Steven had predicted, their transportation was quite rudimentary.

It was dog sleds!

No surprise there. You couldn't expect a bunch of steelworkers to be gearheads, especially when they didn't have the fuel stash like Emberwick or Silverlake.

But the dogs they raised was massive.

Post-apocalyptic dogs were built tough—cold-resistant and easier to handle when they were bigger.

These dogs weren't coddled pets; they could scrap and pull sleds like champs.

Dogs eat just about anything, so keeping them fed wasn't a headache.

And no one could ignore the giant silver-gray dog at the front of the pack, as big as a house!

On its back sat a cute little girl, humming a familiar nursery rhyme in the wind.

Sebastian wasn't wearing combat gear; he was still in his gray-blue worker's outfit, not even wearing a coat.

No matter how cold the weather was, it couldn't make him frown or shiver.

His short, sturdy body seemed to be made of steel, all muscle.

Of course, the other workers around him were no different.

Years of working in the steel mill had made them all look very strong.

No one would want to fight such a robust team.

Sebastian stood in the cold wind, rolled up his sleeve, and glanced at the Patek Philippe on his wrist.

He had taken this watch from GT-Cz; it could operate in extremely cold temperatures and was said to be very expensive.

Money didn't mean squat anymore, but Sebastian had a thing for luxury items.

Back before the world went to hell, he could've never dreamed of owning something like this. Now, it gave him that sweet taste of satisfaction.

"Steven is so slow!" Sebastian said, then carefully wiped the frost off the watch's surface and tucked it into his sleeve.

At this moment, several workers came over and said to Sebastian, "Mr. Nelson, I've searched the area. There are still some residents alive!"

Sebastian asked, "What's their relationship with Steven?"

The worker said, "It doesn't seem like they have any relationship, but they seemed quite scared when Steven was mentioned."

Sebastian thought for a moment and said, "That makes sense. If these people were under Steven's protection, he wouldn't have led us here. Forget it, don't bother with them!"

At this moment, several workers had ambiguous smiles on their faces. "Mr. Nelson..."

Seeing their strange smiles, Sebastian couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, "What?"

The workers rubbed their hands together. "There are many women in this town, and they're quite young. We were thinking..."

Frostwood Steel Plant still had thousands of workers alive.

99.9% of them were men, with only a few women in clerical and logistical roles, who had long been claimed by the management.

The remaining thousands of men also hoped to have their own women.

However, in the desolate area around Frostwood Steel Plant, there were few people, and it was hard to find any living women.

No wonder they couldn't control themselves.

Sebastian's mouth twisted into a grin. After thinking for a while, he said, "I'll discuss it with Steven when he arrives. After all, this is his turf, and we need to give him some respect."

He then added, "Of course, since I'm making the request personally, he should give me some respect too!"

The surrounding workers nodded excitedly.

Before long, the sound of an engine came from a distance.

Steven was driving the snowmobile over with his people.

Sebastian's gaze became sharp.

With a cold smile on his lips, he stood in the middle of the road with his arms crossed, staring straight ahead.

The collar of his shirt flapped in the cold wind, but it couldn't shake his stance.

Steven stopped the vehicle and cautiously opened the door to get out.

The atmosphere between the two sides was tense. Although they had agreed to cooperate, neither could fully trust the other.

Any slight misstep could lead to a fight!

Steven and Sebastian hadn't seen each other for almost ten years.

When they finally reunited, both men were hardly recognizable.

Steven had grown way more collected—less of that wide-eyed innocence, more of that icy, cutthroat edge.

The moment he stepped out, Sebastian and the workers felt that gut-punch of danger.

Steven wasn't even trying to intimidate.

He'd taken down so many people that the bloodlust was practically baked into his bones. When he got serious, it oozed out of every glance, every move.

'He's not someone to be trifled with!' Everyone at Frostwood Base thought this.

Even Sebastian, the leader of Frostwood Base, didn't dare to underestimate Steven.

However, he had to maintain his dignity, so his mouth still curled in disdain.

While they were sizing up Steven, Steven was also sizing them up.

Sebastian had also changed a lot.

His body was even stronger, and being able to wear ordinary work clothes in the freezing cold clearly indicated that his abilities greatly enhanced his physique.

The surrounding workers were all fierce and didn't look like easy opponents.

Steven couldn't help but think of the information about Sebastian in the West Mountain Base's records.

His ability was very special, seemingly a group enhancement ability that could greatly boost himself and everyone around him.

Of course, the giant mutant dog was also hard to ignore.

When Fluffy appeared, Morgan and Fluffy immediately locked eyes, growling dangerously.

Their growls disrupted the atmosphere.

The girl on Morgan's back, Patricia, quickly patted its head, "Morgan, don't be so fierce!"

After being soothed by Patricia, Morgan squinted its eyes and surprisingly stopped growling.

Fluffy, on the other hand, seemed disinterested, standing quietly by Steven's leg, though its gaze remained sharp.

"Haha! Long time no see, Steven!" Sebastian laughed out loud. "Who'd have thought we'd meet like this after a decade?"

Steven cracked a smile. "Tell me about it. I figured we'd catch up over beers at some reunion. But damn, look at you—big man in Starlight City now!"

Steven's flattery pleased Sebastian, as Steven noticed the slight smile on his lips.

"Although you don't have as much turf as me, you're still a name to know in Starlight City," Sebastian said with a sigh. "Who'd have guessed the awkward kid from school would end up here?"

It seemed like a sigh, but it was actually a boast.

Steven chuckled inwardly but didn't expose him. He knew what someone like Sebastian cared about.

Sebastian lived for the praise, the admiration—anything to fill the void from years of feeling like he wasn't enough.
