Chapter 515 The Dilemma of the Snowfall Cult

Megan yelled at Byron, "Get everyone back to the shelter, now! There's a huge zombie horde coming, tell them to hide, ASAP!"

Byron was taken aback. "Zombie horde?"

Megan snapped, "No time to explain, just do it, hurry!"

Byron could tell from Megan's urgency that things were serious. He rushed to the broadcast room to alert everyone in the refinery to head to the underground shelter immediately.

Meanwhile, Megan led the guards to keep order and get ready for the investigation team.

Inside the refinery, folks dropped what they were doing and made their way to the shelter.

Luckily, Byron was smart enough not to mention the zombie horde, avoiding a panic.

Other groups got the news too.

Leonard looked grim. "Again? When will this nightmare end?"

He was on a ship, debating whether to take his crew and bail.

But he realized that wasn't practical. There weren't many ports for their big ship, and other areas had their own factions. Leaving would mean fighting local forces, which would be suicide given their current strength.

Leonard clenched his teeth. "Damn it, we have to fight!"

Leonard and Sebastian quickly agreed to bring their people to help with the crisis. They had no choice. If the investigation team got into trouble, Silvercrest District might decide the zombie problem in Starlight City was hopeless. Then The Grim Reaper's Sigh would come down, and everyone would be doomed!

Even if they hid in shelters, they couldn't stay there for twenty years. Their supplies wouldn't last that long. It was better to gamble and team up with the investigation team to tackle the zombie crisis.

At the shelter, Steven got the message and calmly replied, [We'll be there right away.]

Knowing Otha and the others were fleeing to Emberwick Base, Steven had another plan. He didn't want Otha and the others to die, nor did he want them to wipe out the zombie horde.

Only Steven knew the Snowfall Cult was behind all this. The only way to end it was to take out Natasha, and Otha's strength was crucial.

Steven got up from the sofa and started gearing up. He checked all his equipment, then called Lily, Henry, and a few others, telling them to join him in helping the investigation team.

Everyone was ready, but no one expected things to escalate so fast. Steven had just returned from the Snowfall Cult, and now he had to face another round of chaos.

Steven turned to Earl and the others. "Stick close to me, everyone. If things go south, I'll use my Dimension Door to teleport out. We'll escape and get back to the shelter ASAP."

Their eyes lit up with newfound confidence. Having a captain with killer survival skills made them feel a lot safer. Winning or losing wasn't the point; staying alive was what mattered.

They started gearing up.

Meanwhile, Steven told Elinor and a few others, "Don't just sit around. Pack your most important stuff and leave it in the living room. If things go south, we'll come get you out right away. Don't overpack; one bag per person, got it?"

The women at home looked worried. Emilia said, "Let's hurry and pack then!"

Cindy, however, stayed calm. She didn't have much to bring, just her laptop. "Steven, remember, this is our only shot," she reminded him, holding up one finger.

Steven nodded slowly. "I got it."

Without time for goodbyes, Steven and the crew geared up and headed straight to Emberwick Base to help the investigation team.

Elinor stood at the door, watching them leave, feeling a sense of helplessness. Except for Steven and Cindy, no one else really grasped the gravity of the crisis they were facing.

Over at the Snowfall Cult, Neil frowned deeply as he read the message. He crossed the ruins and found Natasha praying at the Church of the Holy Ground.

"Something's up!" Neil said bluntly.

Natasha slowly opened her eyes and looked at Neil, her cold gaze showing a mix of inhuman indifference and divine devotion.

Neil said seriously, "The Silvercrest District investigation team found out about the situation in Amber District!"

Natasha looked surprised. Silvercrest District was a big deal, not something she wanted to mess with right now.

"Haven't they already left Starlight City? Why are they in Amber District?"

Amber District was remote and had become almost a dead zone after the apocalypse. When the zombie crisis hit, there weren't any active hordes there, so they chose it to hide the zombie horde.

Even though the investigation team was thorough, they couldn't search all of Starlight City. Natasha was puzzled.

Neil shook his head. "I don't know! Logically, they'd start with the five major forces and move outward since those areas are the most populated. This isn't good news!"

Natasha frowned, trying to figure out if this was a coincidence or something more.

Neil added, "The zombie horde got disturbed and started attacking the investigation team. They're asking for our help and have fled to the Emberwick Base shelter."

Natasha looked up at him. "Could this be a trap? A setup to lure us in and wipe us out?"

Neil wasn't sure either. "Only the Bloodfeeder Vine can communicate with the Monkey Zombie King, and the info I got says the horde was genuinely disturbed."
