Chapter 366 Fanatic
Neither Megan nor Leonard gained control of the refuge through peaceful means; they both seized power by force, making them the strongest combatants in their respective factions.
Their combined strength was on par with, if not superior to, Charles in certain aspects.
Their alliance immediately posed a significant problem for the Snowfall Cult.
However, the Snowfall Cult had one major advantage over other factions: sheer numbers.Whether it was ordinary followers or Psychics, their numbers surpassed any other base.
Seeing that the battle was inevitable, Neil shouted, "In the name of the Snow God, destroy them!"
All the priests hesitated no longer and unleashed their Supernatural abilities, engaging in a deadly fight with the Psychics of the two major factions.
At that moment, the followers of the Snowfall Cult swarmed out from every corner like ants.
They were ragged and emaciated, but their eyes gleamed with madness, devoid of any fear.
"Eliminate all enemies of the Snowfall Cult! Kill!" Dozens of followers, armed with kitchen knives and iron rods, charged at the battle formations of the two bases.
The soldiers saw this and smirked cruelly before pulling the triggers of their guns and the followers were gunned down instantly.
"Are these people insane? Do they really think they can stop us with their bodies?" A soldier sneered mockingly.
But just then, a few people nearby heard a sudden rush of wind above them.
"Huh?" Instinctively, they looked up and saw a dark figure rapidly descending.
A crazed Snowfall Cult follower, strapped with lit explosives, had jumped from a high building right in front of them.
A violent explosion ensued, sending shattered limbs flying, and the Snowfall Cult follower took six soldiers to hell with him.
This scene shocked all the soldiers.
A captain-level Psychic coldly warned, "These Snowfall Cult people are lunatics. They will attack without regard for their lives. Be careful!"
This time, only a few hundred soldiers had come to attack, as some had to stay back to guard the main base.
But from the buildings surrounding the church, thousands of followers were swarming toward them.
The sheer number of people made everyone gasp in shock.
Even Megan couldn't help but curse, "Damn cult, who knows how many idiots they've tricked into dying for them with their stupid teachings!"
Megan felt no pity for these followers; she only thought they were foolish for sacrificing their lives for unrelated people.
She looked at the Psychics of the Snowfall Cult in front of her, finally fixing her gaze on Neil.
Megan turned to Leonard and said, "Let's work together and capture Neil first!"
Leonard nodded and smiled, "Good idea."
Megan took a big swig of high-purity alcohol, activating her ability called Inferno Forge.
As Megan's ability activated, fiery red patterns began to appear on her face and hands, like molten lava slowly flowing.
The intense heat caused white smoke to rise around her.
After downing the alcohol, the patterns on her body became even brighter.
The wind and snow around Leonard grew more violent, and in an instant, his figure disappeared from sight.
Megan, like an arrow shot from a bow, charged at Neil with incredible speed.
Neil frowned, sensing danger. The next moment, his legs were suddenly grabbed. Somehow, two snow-covered arms had emerged from beneath the snow, holding him in place.
Leonard's face slowly appeared, staring eerily at Neil as icy cold began to spread up Neil's legs.
From the front, Megan's fiery red fist, covered in expanding flames, was aimed directly at Neil's head.
A violent explosion erupted in the center of the battlefield, sending snow flying and everything around it, including people, was blown away.
Moments later, Neil was gasping for breath, standing behind Avery and Dean.
His right arm was charred black, with coagulated blood and fire poison seeping into his body. Without timely and effective treatment, this would be extremely dangerous in the post-apocalyptic world.
Megan and Leonard stood not far away, their expressions showing some dissatisfaction.
It was truly unfortunate that their combined efforts hadn't taken Neil down in one blow.
At the critical moment, Neil's subordinates had broken free from their entanglements and rushed over to save him.
The Snowfall Cult had nothing but numbers.
The Psychics brought by the two bases couldn't keep them all occupied.
Having failed once, the enemy now understood their abilities and would be on guard, making it much harder next time.
Meanwhile, the battlefield for ordinary soldiers and followers was even more brutal.
The followers of the Snowfall Cult had madness in their eyes, showing no fear of death. Some even charged with just a wooden stick.
The fervor in their eyes was terrifying.
They not only didn't fear death but seemed to seek it. It was unimaginable how the Snowfall Cult had brainwashed them. Even the most battle-hardened soldiers began to tremble at the sight.
They had killed so many Snowfall Cult followers, yet these people kept coming, shouting the cult's teachings as they rushed to their deaths.
The soldiers were killing until their hands were numb and their hearts were uneasy.
When people panic, things went wrong.
Especially when the soldiers of the two bases were facing a bunch of lunatics.
They didn't hesitate to trade ten or twenty of their lives for one of the soldiers' lives.
In just thirty minutes of fighting, the Snowfall Cult had lost over five hundred people, but their suicidal tactics had also killed more than thirty base soldiers.
The scariest part was that the more they killed, the more followers appeared, continuously emerging from the ruins of buildings.
After all, this was once the most populous area of Starlight City.
It was hard to imagine how many followers the Snowfall Cult had recruited after the apocalypse.
Megan and Leonard also sensed that the situation was dire. The Snowfall Cult's madness had greatly exceeded their expectations.
Under normal circumstances, when they attacked a place, they only needed to shoot a few people, and the rest would either surrender or flee. But the Snowfall Cult followers were all lunatics!
If the fight continued, their two factions still had a good chance of winning. But the losses were something they didn't want to face.
After all, there were many small underground factions in Starlight City, and in the northwest region of Starlight City, there was the powerful Frostwood Base.
If they continued fighting, even if they could destroy the Snowfall Cult, the heavy losses would be unbearable.
Finally, Megan made a decision in her heart. She took a deep breath and coldly said to Neil in the distance, "My cousin Christian and his dozen men are dead, and your Snowfall Cult is the prime suspect. Now I need an explanation from you!"
