Chapter 504 A Desperate Situation
"The more people die, the more she gains. So, from the start, she had everyone fooled."
Cindy let out a small sigh, "Even most of the Snowfall Cult fell for her tricks, willingly dying for her."
Steven raised an eyebrow. "Sounds like she's a total sociopath."
Cindy looked at him and said softly, "With a past like hers, it's no surprise she turned out this way, right?"
Steven took a deep breath.
Natasha's past was definitely tragic, but that didn't make her innocent.
Everything has its cause and effect. She was born into a wealthy family and enjoyed the perks her parents provided.
So what happened later could only be seen as karma.
"I don't have the energy to feel sorry for her right now. What matters is how we handle her threat." Steven felt a heavy weight on his chest.
Having a Psychic like her around was like a mountain pressing down on all of Starlight City.
By now, who knows how many people's Supernatural abilities Natasha had absorbed and how powerful she had become.
Steven couldn't imagine, but he knew she was stronger than any Psychic in Starlight City, including himself.
At this point, Natasha was almost invincible, and she was coming for them.
She had sent them Frostheart, which was a clear signal to act.
She didn't want Steven and the others to submit; she wanted them dead!
"Now, we need to figure out how to deal with her threat."
Steven looked up and exhaled a long breath, trying to release the anxiety building up inside him.
Cindy lowered her head, thinking for a moment, then calmly said to Steven, "If we want to take her down, we can't do it alone."
"First, we need to let the other forces in Starlight City know about Natasha's plan."
"Second, and most importantly, we need the support of the Silvercrest District."
"Because Starlight City, after the war, is in bad shape. Even if we unite, we might not be a match for Natasha."
Steven nodded. "I get that. But the problem is, even if I tell them my thoughts, they might not believe me."
"And for the Silvercrest District, even if Natasha is plotting against everyone, what does it have to do with them?"
Steven sneered, "As the most powerful force in the South, Silvercrest District wants stability, not justice."
"So, even if Natasha is plotting against us, as long as it doesn't affect Silvercrest District's interests, they have no reason to act. They might even recruit Natasha for their own use."
As Steven spoke, his mood gradually sank.
Without the support of Silvercrest District, could they really defeat Natasha?
Steven even thought that if it came to it, he might accept Otha's proposal and take everyone to Silvercrest District.
But could he really give up the shelter he had worked so hard to build?
Steven gritted his teeth, his expression extremely conflicted.
He was reluctant, really reluctant!
Here, he didn't have to be under anyone's control and could live freely.
But if he went to Silvercrest District, according to Otha, he would become just a cog in Blizzard City. Living there came with a price.
Just look at Otha. Even though he knew using his abilities would shorten his life, he still had to work tirelessly every day.
Cindy's amber eyes met Steven's, and she smiled slightly, speaking slowly.
"Steven, if you want to drag Silvercrest District into this, there might be a way."
Steven looked up and met her gaze.
Cindy was eerily calm, not showing a trace of panic despite knowing their situation.
"Cindy, what's in your mind?"
Cindy said lightly, "If we can tap into their core interests, we can make them work for us."
"So, what is Silvercrest District most worried about?"
Steven answered without hesitation, "Of course, it's someone shaking their rule!"
"Including the investigation team, they came here because they were worried about the zombie outbreak spreading to other areas of Silvercrest District, causing larger-scale chaos."
Cindy tilted her head with a smile. "In that case, we just need to let them know that the zombie outbreak was caused by Natasha."
Steven laughed wryly. "I'd love to! If I had evidence, I would have presented it long ago. But the problem is, I don't."
He had even gone to the Bloodfeeder Vine's location, collected its leaves, and stolen a drained corpse.
But after Elinor's examination, no zombie virus was found on it.
Cindy smiled mysteriously. "Steven, sometimes you don't need evidence to do something. You just need to let Silvercrest District know there's a possibility, and they won't ignore it."
"As long as there's suspicion, they will use their own resources to investigate Natasha. If Natasha resists, it proves she has something to hide."
"If she doesn't resist and allows the investigation, I believe some clues will eventually be found."
Steven's eyes gradually showed a look of understanding.
"You mean to spread rumors? Exaggerate Natasha's threat so Silvercrest District can't ignore her."
"Exactly." Cindy said lightly.
"As the actual rulers of Silvercrest District, they won't allow such a huge instability factor in their region."
"And there's one thing we already know for sure—Natasha possesses multiple Supernatural abilities!"
"If you tell Otha this, do you think Silvercrest District will be interested in her?"
Cindy's last words struck Steven like a bolt of lightning.
That's right! It didn't matter whether or not Natasha was the mastermind behind everything, he just needed to expose her to the light and draw Silvercrest District's attention.
That way, Natasha wouldn't make any reckless move, and Silvercrest District might even take her away.
In that case, wouldn't Starlight City be safe?
Steven thought it was a good idea.
He rested his chin on his hand, leaning against the console, thinking for a while.
This idea was good; he needed to study it further, at least as a backup plan.
When facing something very important, having only one solution is very dangerous.
Seeing Steven like this, Cindy smiled lightly. "Steven, we still have one person's file to check!"
