Chapter 546 Void

After an indeterminate time, Steven finished absorbing what remained of Natasha's Supernatural ability. He felt his power expand dramatically—an epic enhancement across every dimension of his capabilities.

Even his most basic skill, Dimension Door, had significantly increased in defensive threshold. His grasp of spatial forces had grown more refined, suggesting possibilities for developing even more formidable abilities in the future.

There was something Steven didn't realize, however. Natasha, as a artificially-elevated Level 5 Psychic, harbored fundamental flaws in her power. All her abilities had been stolen rather than naturally developed.

Having ascended so recently, her essence hadn't fully stabilized before experiencing a major battle, leaving it severely damaged.

In truth, Steven had absorbed only a fraction of Natasha's essence. Yet even this partial power far exceeded that of any Level 4 Psychic in Starlight City. Now, his task was to fully integrate this power and make it truly his own.

Steven closed his eyes, carefully sensing the transformations occurring within him. He stood motionless in the swirling snow for a long time before opening his eyes again.

Slowly, he extended his palm. Black lightning coalesced in his hand—first as tiny flickering sparks, then rapidly expanding into a dark substance resembling both flame and lightning. Distorted cracking sounds filled the air.

Steven channeled this energy until it solidified in his palm, forming an unstable obsidian spear. Even he struggled to control this raw power.

Quickly raising his arm, he hurled the spear toward the distant mountainside. It pierced through space and vanished silently into the target.

A moment later, dark matter erupted from that point, forming a massive black sphere over a thousand feet in diameter. When the sphere dissipated, it left a perfectly smooth, circular void in the mountainside—hundreds of feet across, as if that section of reality had simply been erased.

"The power of Void," Steven whispered.

Upon acquiring this ability, he instinctively understood its nature. Void could devour everything—an upgraded version of Martial Prowess with even more terrifying destructive potential.

"If I combined this with Double Dimension Door... is there anyone in this world I couldn't kill?"

Steven stared at his right hand. He sensed this power could transcend human limitations, granting him authority over life and death itself.

When someone suddenly acquires immense power, their ego tends to expand alongside it. Steven, however, quickly suppressed this self-satisfaction.

"This world contains too many powerful beings. I can't afford arrogance," he reminded himself. "Overconfidence leads to destruction. Natasha is the perfect example."

Remembering Otha's devastating final burst of power, and Natasha's casual decimation of Starlight City's Psychics with her dozens of abilities, Steven tempered his enthusiasm. Besides, Otha had mentioned other Level 5 Psychics existed elsewhere. The one in Everglow City District could allegedly take lives from thousands of miles away.

"This world remains full of dangers. I must stay vigilant," he told himself. "But at least now, even facing more powerful Psychics, I can protect myself."

Steven clenched his fist, eyes brimming with confidence. Even confronting a monstrous superpower like Silvercrest District wouldn't intimidate him—not from arrogance, but because Silvercrest would now eagerly recruit him. This would also help resolve any issues stemming from how he had manipulated Otha and used his ability to defeat Natasha.

He activated his communicator to contact Henry.

"Hey, Henry. It's Steven. I've killed Natasha. We're safe now."

On the other end, Henry seemed to exhale a long-held breath. After a few seconds, he responded, "That's good. That's incredibly good!"

"Where are you now? What's happening with the Starlight City factions and the investigation team?"

During the four-day pursuit, Steven had focused entirely on Natasha, maintaining no contact with his group. Now that everything had concluded, there were still loose ends to address in Starlight City.

Henry replied, "Leonard is dead. His deputy Oliver survived and returned to Silverlake Base with their few remaining people."

"The other factions are in similar shape. The investigation team went to Frostwood Base. They suffered heavy casualties—especially Lanny, who looks near death. They're recovering there."

"As for us, we're all at home waiting for you."

Steven nodded. "Good. We'll talk more when I return."

The other factions couldn't pose much threat anymore. After this conflict, Starlight City was effectively decimated. Of the five major powers, only Steven's group remained intact—the others had lost nearly all their combat-capable Psychics.

From now on, they couldn't threaten Steven at all. The investigation team, however, still concerned him.

Steven retrieved a snow vehicle from his extradimensional space, set it to autopilot, and returned to his shelter.

Everyone was waiting for him. When they saw Steven, excitement lit their faces. This crisis had nearly cost them their home and lives. Only Steven's power had salvaged everything.

"Steven!" "Steven!" "Steven." "Steven!" "Captain!"

Everyone wanted to embrace him, but Steven declined their hugs and cheers.

He raised his hand with a weary smile. "I need to rest now. We can discuss everything after I wake up."

Like caffeine, the military stimulants had kept him alert, but now the accumulated fatigue would hit him all at once. Having returned home, his mental strength had reached its limit.

He moved past the others to his room. It remained warm and elegant—a massive bed covered with pristine white velvet blankets. The light was soft amber, and outside the window, snowflakes drifted peacefully.

Steven removed his clothes, locked the door, and collapsed onto the bed.

Right now, all he wanted was to sleep.
