Chapter 327 Scattering Your Ashes
Lily saw Steven's actions and couldn't help but exclaim, "You're really ruthless! In this situation, there's hardly anyone alive down there."
"I just consider it as buying some insurance!" Steven said calmly. "But this isn't over yet. Come on, I'll take you to another place."
Steven took out a snowmobile and invited Lily to sit in the passenger seat.
Lily was curious and didn't know what Steven was up to.
But since there was a vehicle to ride, she didn't mind and thought she might as well go along for the ride.
The group rode the snowmobile, and Steven opened his phone, which displayed a 3D structure diagram of the West Mountain Base sent by Cindy.
Before long, they arrived at a region within the mountains.
From a distance, the headlights revealed three figures running away on the snow.
Lily looked at Steven in shock. "You even thought of this?"
Steven smiled faintly. "Based on the 3D structure diagram of the West Mountain Base, I discovered an escape route connected to the first Life Warehouse. It's not hard to guess who used it."
He drove the snowmobile, accelerating toward them.
Lily looked at those people, her eyes gradually filling with intense killing intent! "Peter!"
Peter, the main culprit behind the conflict between the West Mountain Base and Steven!
He had been relentlessly pressuring Steven, showing no mercy.
He had established the harsh West Mountain system, harming countless ordinary people, including Lily's students.
Steven could forgive anyone but Peter; Peter had to die here!
Since Peter could contact the Silvercrest District, it showed he had extensive connections.
If this man survived, given the hatred from Steven destroying his West Mountain Base, he would definitely be relentless in seeking revenge against Steven.
So Steven had to eliminate him completely, to root out this major threat.
The three figures on the snow were indeed Peter and his guards.
After the West Mountain Base was blown up, the first Life Warehouse was not at the center of the explosion and was not destroyed due to its strong defenses.
However, many of the underground life support systems had been destroyed, and Peter's most relied-upon special forces members were out of contact.
Realizing the dire situation, Peter immediately ran out through the escape route.
To save his own life, he didn't even care about his wife and children.
Unfortunately, in their haste, they didn't have any proper transportation and had to leave on foot.
Thus, they were caught up by Steven and his group.
When Peter saw the two snowmobiles driving toward them, his face turned pale, and his heart sank.
His two loyal guards quickly raised their guns and grenades, ready for a desperate fight.
The two vehicles blocked their path from the front and back.
Steven got out of the car, looking at Peter with a cold smile, his eyes playful and mocking, like he was looking at prey caught in a trap.
"Isn't this Mr. Martin from the West Mountain Base? You're quite a big shot, why are you running away so quietly?" Steven asked.
Peter's legs were already trembling with fear.
For the first time in his life, he felt the taste of death so clearly.
Even after the apocalypse, he had lived comfortably in the West Mountain Base thanks to his power.
But overnight, everything he had was destroyed.
Steven had become a nightmare-like existence in his eyes.
"Steven, don't be impulsive! I think we can still talk this out." Peter quickly tried to persuade Steven to spare him. "You can't kill me; I'm a person of status and position. And if you kill me, it will disrupt the balance of the various regions in Starlight City! At that time, who knows how many people will come here. You'll face even greater danger!"
Steven's heart was slightly moved; he didn't know about these things.
But on the surface, Steven remained calm and said indifferently, "Why should I lend credence to your assertions? Look at yourself now; you've lost everything and have no right to negotiate with me."
As Steven spoke, the group had already surrounded the three of them.
Especially Lily, who gripped her broadsword tightly, her eyes filled with murderous intent as she looked at Peter.
She had a deep hatred for Peter; dozens of her students had become Peter's test subjects, some even turned into protein liquid!
From the bottom of her heart, she hated this despicable Peter!
Steven's martial prowess had already locked onto the three of them.
Surrounded by the psychics, they had no ability to resist.
Peter quickly explained, "It's a chaotic world now; if I didn't do that, everyone would have died! Steven, you're a talented person; you shouldn't waste your talents. How about we work together? If you're willing to cooperate with me, with your strength and my connections and brains, we can definitely develop the West Mountain Base into something great and powerful! At that time, becoming the kings of the entire Starlight City wouldn't be difficult!"
Steven smirked. "I don't need it!"
Peter opened his mouth wide, still trying to use his eloquence to persuade Steven.
But the next moment, Peter's head twisted and then exploded like a watermelon!
The two guards were terrified, shouting, "Mr. Martin!"
Then they pulled the pins on their grenades and charged at Steven, intending to die together with him!
After a few gunshots, the knees of the two guards were shot through, and they fell to the ground helplessly.
But they still desperately threw the grenades at Steven.
Steven, however, calmly opened a Dimension Door with both hands, catching the grenades.
Then Steven clasped his hands together, and the explosive force disappeared completely.
The two guards were dumbfounded; they couldn't understand this method.
Steven walked up to them step by step, then gently placed his right hand on one guard's chest.
The surging power was released from the Dimension Door, rushing forward!
The two guards' body instantly lit up, then burst into flames, and within seconds, they were reduced to a skeleton!
Steven looked at his right hand with satisfaction. "My control over spatial power is getting stronger!"
Lily watched Steven's power from behind, feeling a strange sensation in her heart.
Compared to when they first met, Steven's strength had become increasingly terrifying.
She couldn't imagine how powerful Steven would become if he continued to evolve at this rate.
Steven killed Peter and his two guards, then burned their bodies to ashes.
He waited until they were reduced to bone ash, then scattered the ashes, finally leaving with satisfaction.
His companions were speechless, just watching Steven's actions for a long time.
"Is this really necessary?" Lily couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you being too cautious? You've already destroyed the entire West Mountain Base, what else are you worried about?"
Steven replied seriously, "Peter was a big shot in Starlight City; I don't know what kind of complex social background he had. What if someone comes to avenge him after his death?"
Lily rolled her eyes. "At this point, do you think that's possible?"
Steven said, "I have to eliminate any possible danger completely!"
Saying this, Steven smiled at Lily and said, "If you had seriously considered the consequences before going to the West Mountain Base, maybe things wouldn't have ended up like this."
Lily was suddenly shocked.
She thought of her students who had died tragically and couldn't help but feel a wave of sadness.
She looked at Steven with complex emotions, beginning to understand his actions.
