Chapter 225 Mechanical Expert

Steven hustled Nora and Elinor into the living room.

When they saw Cindy safe and sound, their faces lit up. They rushed over, tears in their eyes.

"Cindy! Thank God you're okay! I was so worried!" Nora said, squatting down in front of Cindy with a relieved smile.

"Why didn't you contact me sooner? You must've had a rough time out there!"

But Cindy wasn't exactly warm towards Nora.

She snorted and said coldly, "Nora, you're a disgrace. You only got famous by exploiting men's fantasies. Besides your looks, what else do you have? If I hadn't found out you were with Steven, I wouldn't have contacted you at all!"

Nora looked a bit awkward.

Steven raised an eyebrow, noting the tension between the cousins.

It was no surprise, as Elinor had mentioned before, that Nora, the beloved idol, was a disgrace to the Yoder family.

It made sense for Cindy, a computer genius, to look down on her.

"Steven?" Elinor asked, concerned. "Since when has Cindy been so friendly? She called you by your first name."

In Elinor's mind, Cindy was so smart she rarely acknowledged anyone.

They introduced themselves.

Aubrey, though not from a wealthy family, had parents who were university professors.

Steven clapped his hands and assigned tasks.

"Nora, make a good meal to welcome Cindy and Aubrey."

"Elinor, tidy up their rooms."

Elinor smiled, "Alright! I already cleared a room for Cindy, just need to prepare one more."

Nora went to the kitchen to start dinner.

Steven didn't rush Aubrey and Cindy to work. He let them take a bath first, as there were no bathing facilities at Innovation Academy.

Aubrey pushed Cindy to the bathroom, and Steven prepared clothes for them to choose from.

While they were bathing, Nora kept glancing at Steven from the kitchen, her knife movements slowing down.

Steven sighed, "It's been ages since you first got here, and you're still hung up on that?"

Nora pouted, "You can mess with me all you want, but they're just naive students. Don't do that to them!"

Steven chuckled.

He never intended to. The reason he was so forward with Nora back then was because he knew she was trading her body for survival.

But Aubrey and Cindy were different.

They were valuable for their skills, and Steven had big plans for them.

He wasn't desperate; having Elinor and Nora was enough for his needs.

For these two, it was better to let them focus on fortifying the shelter.

However, if something blossomed between them over time, that was a force he couldn't control.

The girls took a long bath.

Coming from decent backgrounds, they couldn't stand going so long without bathing.

With a comfortable environment and hot water, they cleaned themselves thoroughly.

After their bath, they came out wearing the clothes Steven had prepared.

They looked at Steven with even more affection, grateful for saving their lives and providing a comfortable home.

Aubrey's heart was already echoing with "loyalty!"

"Mr. Rogers, we're done bathing," Aubrey said with a cheerful smile.

Aubrey was carefree, her eyes clear like a naive girl.

"Come over and sit for a while," Steven smiled and waved them over.

He let them sit on the sofa, have some hot drinks to replenish their energy, and relax.

Nora poured Cindy a cappuccino, while Aubrey had an Americano.

Steven crossed his legs and casually chatted with them. "Cindy, you'll handle network security at home from now on. Is that okay?"

Steven was clueless about computers, only slightly better than Nora and Elinor.

But compared to computer experts, his knowledge was nothing.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have had all his identity information stolen by Dawson before.

Cindy nodded confidently. "Leave it to me!"

Steven then looked at Aubrey.

Aubrey immediately sat up straight, hands on her knees. "Mr. Rogers, what can I do for you?"

Steven grinned. "You're a mechanical whiz. Think you can whip up some weapons and ammo?"

Aubrey, in her slippers, curled her toes under Steven's warm gaze. She shyly looked away, scratching her cheek. "Making guns isn't too tough, but I need the right gear. And for ammo, the materials are kinda hard to come by."

She added, "Cold weapons are more doable. I can use metals from around the house, but I'll still need forging tools."

Steven smiled. "No problem."

He stood up and said, "Come with me, I wanna show you something."

Aubrey followed him, curiosity piqued.

Steven led her to the basement and into a spacious room.

He opened the extradimensional space and pulled out mechanical equipment from steel companies he had picked up.

Though he wasn't familiar with CNC machines, he knew their purpose.

"Do these things come in handy??" Steven asked. "If not, I have more. I can raid a few steel factories if needed."

Aubrey's eyes lit up at the advanced equipment. These devices were extremely expensive, many imported, costing millions.

"No problem, these will do!" Aubrey said excitedly. "Some equipment might not be useful, but I can dismantle and modify them."

As a mechanical genius, her hands-on skills were top-notch.

Steven nodded and handed her some tools. "Get the equipment organized. When I need something, you can make it."

For ammo materials, it was simpler. His extradimensional space was full of chemical materials, so gunpowder wouldn't be an issue for this mechanical genius.

Steven didn't lack large firearms but was short on bullets and silencers—especially for his Magnum Sniper Rifle, which was too loud for stealth.

Aubrey patted her toned arm. "Don't worry! Leave it to me!"

Steven was thrilled with the enthusiastic girl in front of him.

He initially thought it was just a buy-one-get-one-free deal, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

"By the way, since you're into mechanics, you must know a lot about materials, right? Check this out."

Steven took out the broadsword he had snatched from Lily and handed it to Aubrey.

"Is this some kind of treasure? When I took it, your teacher looked like she was ready to fight me to the death."

Aubrey recognized the sword immediately.

She took it, her eyes lighting up as she drew it out.

As soon as half the blade was exposed, a chilling gleam flashed, accompanied by a crisp ringing sound.

"This is Mrs. Evans' treasured sword! I finally get to touch it myself," Aubrey said, her eyes filled with admiration.

After a long while, she reluctantly sheathed the sword and handed it back to Steven.

"This sword is called Dragon Roar. It was forged by Ethan Lawson, the greatest swordsmith in The Astralium Kingdom."

"It's not an ancient artifact but a pinnacle of modern cold weaponry!"

"The metal used is called Adamantium alloy, said to be the hardest metal in the world, capable of cutting through diamonds!"

Steven couldn't help but ask, "Is it really that powerful?"

Aubrey nodded. "Yes. This metal was developed ten years ago for military weapons. But due to high production costs and rarity, it was abandoned by arms companies."

"Some people used it to forge cold weapons, resulting in this indestructible treasure!"

Aubrey pointed to the sword in Steven's hand. "This one is called Dragon Roar. Mrs. Evans got it as a reward for saving a lady from The Astralium Kingdom while working as her bodyguard."

"To Mrs. Evans, it symbolizes supreme honor. That's why she values it more than her life."

Steven looked at the Dragon Roar in his hand, his eyes burning with excitement.

No wonder Lily could fight that mutant cat with it. Ordinary swords would have dulled long ago.

"Such a good thing, I'll keep it!" he said.

Such a fine weapon was much better for self-defense than the Damascus steel hunting knife he had before. Steven certainly wasn't going to return it.
