Chapter 403 The Battle is About to Begin

Based on the intelligence provided by Snowfall Cult and Sebastian, four major forces will unite and launch an attack on Steven's shelter in three days.

On paper, it was about payback for the guys Steven took out from the two major bases. But everyone knew it was just a land grab and a power play.

Still, each faction was out to score big for themselves.

With all sides pushing their agendas, this fight was inevitable.

Three days later, the four major forces left some of their troops to hold down their bases while the rest, led by their bosses, rolled out toward the Emerald Estate.

The four parties agreed to strike at 2 PM sharp. None of them had a clue what was going on inside that ice and snow barrier. A night raid was too risky—they'd be walking blind into traps and ambushes.

With their overwhelming firepower, a straight-up frontal assault was the way to go. No tricks, no games—just brute force.

The team dispatched by Emberwick Base was the most imposing.

They sent out fifteen vehicles at once, including engineering vehicles for breaching and modified armored vehicles.

In the entire Starlight City, only Emberwick Base has such a convoy.

In the third armored vehicle, Emberwick Base leader Megan, dressed in a red combat suit, sat there with eyes as sharp as a hawk.

Her ability was very special and she named it [Inferno Forge].

With flames at her command, she doesn't just amp up her strength—she can torch anything in her path with scorching heat.

In the world of Supernatural abilities, she's a double threat: a powerhouse in both the Strengthening and Release Systems, making her a force to reckon with.

Her flames are her signature, so her combat suit matches—bright red, no hiding.

After all, she is always so conspicuous wherever she goes, so there is no need to hide herself.

The convoy moved steadily towards the Emerald Estate.

Megan picked up the communication device and contacted the leaders of the other three major forces one by one, asking them to arrive near the Emerald Estate at the agreed time.

After receiving affirmative responses, she felt relieved.

But Megan's deputy, Byron, always had a worried look on his face.

He spoke up, "When we set off this morning, a flagpole at the gate just... collapsed. It's got me on edge, and that feeling's only getting worse. This is the first time since the apocalypse we're throwing everything into a fight this big. We've never pulled together this much firepower for something that could make or break Emberwick Base."

'If we lose this one... I don't even want to think about it.' Byron kept his thoughts to himself, not daring to voice them in front of Megan.

Megan didn't hesitate at all and said in an unquestionable tone, "We will definitely win. What took down West Mountain Base was that missile from Silvercrest District, not Steven! A tiny shelter with less than ten people—even if they're all Psychics, big deal. Plus, this time, we've got four forces teaming up. Crushing them will be easy. If it weren't for playing it safe, I wouldn't even bother calling in the other three. Trust me, there's no way anything goes sideways this time. Starlight City doesn't have a single force that can stand up to all four of us hitting them at once."

Megan wasn't taking any chances.

She had no clue how strong Steven and his crew really were, so she was ready to cut some deals to get the four big players to move as one.

Byron was silent for a moment and then said, "I'm just afraid the other forces are unreliable."

Megan let out a sharp laugh. "Ha! Of course they're unreliable! Those guys are a bunch of bloodthirsty vultures—they'll swoop in the second they smell a win!"

She caught herself, her gaze razor-sharp. "That's exactly why they'll come through—this fight is worth it. We're all cut from the same cloth, always ready to kick someone when they're down. And when the target's both juicy and defenseless? Who's gonna pass that up?"

Megan didn't see any room for error in this operation.

Even Steven's supposedly unbreakable shelter? She brought in a pro like Alexander to crack it open.

Like Steven said, West Mountain Base got wiped out, but no one's got the full story on how it went down.

So, naturally, most people assume Steven's crew wasn't the driving force behind it.

Byron nodded. "I think so too. From a strength perspective, we have no chance of failure."

Megan patted his shoulder. "You're just too nervous! After we win, we'll have a good drink, and then you'll understand the joy of victory!"

A smile appeared on Byron's face. "You're right! Maybe I'm just too nervous."

The convoy continued to drive towards the Emerald Estate through the wind and snow.

On the other side, Steven had already learned that their agreed attack time was 2 PM.

But for safety's sake, everyone got up early to prepare for the battle.

Behind the Emerald Estate, two low mountains are connected, and in front is the Eternal River.

So, to attack the Emerald Estate, the rear is inconvenient, and they can only come through the vast area in front.

Steven arranged for everyone to guard the first line of defense.

Lily, Henry, Earl, and Fluffy were all sent to the first line of defense.

And he himself stayed in the shelter.

His reason was: "I'm not built for up-close brawls—that's not my thing. But backing you up with Dimension Door and long-range shots? That's where I shine."

Even though Steven never officially called himself the Captain of the shelter, he was the one calling the shots.

So, of course, everyone followed his lead—even Earl, the biggest scaredy-cat around, had to suck it up and head to the front lines.

As the battle was about to begin, Lily's mental state was noticeably different from the previous days.

She didn't say much, but her grip on that Broadsword was iron-tight, and her eyes were pure murder.

She was convinced Emberwick Base had taken out her students, and all she wanted was a chance to make them pay.

Just as she was about to walk away, Steven called out from behind, "Lily, hold up—take this for now!"

She turned around just in time to catch the Broadsword he tossed her.

When Lily got it, her eyes immediately flashed with excitement because that sword was her favorite treasure, Dragon Roar!

"Remember to return it after the battle," Steven said lightly.

He wouldn't join the frontline melee, so it's more effective to leave Dragon Roar with Lily.

Lily's expression froze, and she stomped her foot angrily, "Got it!"
