Chapter 99 Ambush
Steven asked with concern, "Are you okay?"
Walter, surprised that Steven would specifically ask about his condition, quickly replied, "It's just a scratch, I'm fine."
Steven immediately said with a tone of indignation, "Those Rapids gang bastards almost hurt my trusted subordinate!"
"Walter, you don't have to be on duty tomorrow. Take a rest."
Then, he said in the group chat, "Everyone did a great job tonight. Tomorrow, there will be rewards for those who participated in the attack on the Rapids gang. At the very least, everyone will get double rations!"
"Walter was sustained injuries in the line of duty. He is an example for us all to learn from. So, he is allowed to rest for a day tomorrow. Also, I will reward him with an extra-large pizza!"
Hearing Steven's encouraging words, the neighbors were thrilled.
Although eight neighbors had died, was it still a big deal for someone to die now? They had long become numb to it.
The most important thing was that tomorrow, they would have double the guaranteed food!
The most enviable person was Walter; he could even eat pizza at a time like this!
Even if they had ingredients now, they didn't have enough seasonings to cook, and they were reluctant to start a fire.
They ate whatever they had every day and had almost forgotten what pizza tasted like.
The neighbors said, "Steven is the best!"
"Indeed, I should follow Steven; that's the only way to get food!"
"Damn it, I didn't kill anyone this time. Next time, the pizza will be mine!"
Many people secretly made up their minds to fight even harder!
The next morning, Steven put on his full-body gear before leaving the house.
He planned to check out some well-known large malls and hotels nearby to see if there was anything useful.
He climbed out of the fourth-floor window, and the snow in front of him had already sunken in a large area, stained with patches of blood.
Steven then realized that there had been many battles in their area recently.
He only sighed slightly, then pulled himself together, retrieved the snowmobile from a dark corner, and headed out of the neighborhood.
As the sound of the snowmobile roared, that familiar feeling returned.
The feeling of being watched.
Although Steven couldn't see the people behind the windows, he just knew that many were watching him.
He raised his head, his eyes coldly sweeping over one building after another.
These people could become his enemies in the near future and die by his hand.
Steven's gaze slowly returned from the distance.
But as he glanced past one building, he suddenly felt something was off.
Building 21.
The red "21" on the wall was very conspicuous, and it was this reminder that gave Steven a strong sense of unease.
"Building 21, Crazy Wolf Gang."
Steven frowned slightly, and after a brief thought, his eyes became sharp.
'I knew something was wrong!' he thought.
Building 21, where the Crazy Wolf Gang was located, was not far from their building.
But so far, even though they knew Steven had a lot of supplies and a snowmobile, they still hadn't made a move against him.
In the past, Steven thought they were cautious and afraid of him.
But now, thinking about it, they were still too strange.
No matter how cautious they were, they were still a group of hot-blooded youths in their twenties.
Faced with the temptation of a snowmobile, they felt it was impossible for them to remain indifferent.
The strangest thing was that the building managers of other nearby buildings had all approached Steven to discuss cooperation.
Only the Crazy Wolf Gang had never contacted Steven from beginning to end.
This was very unusual, extremely unusual!
In Steven's understanding, there was only one explanation for this behavior: they were likely planning a sneak attack!
Steven touched the gun in his pocket and thought of the fully loaded and chambered guns in the extradimensional space, which made him feel much more at ease.
He took out his phone from his pocket and quickly sent a message to Henry and Elinor, telling them to lock the doors at home and be wary of sneak attacks from residents of other buildings.
Then Steven put the phone back in his pocket to prevent it from freezing.
Steven started the snowmobile and drove forward.
As the vehicle reached the edge of the neighborhood, a sudden change occurred!
The snow in front of him suddenly splashed up!
Then, a door panel stood up straight, blocking Steven's path.
Steven didn't have time to brake and quickly turned the handlebars.
With a loud crash, the snowmobile collided sideways with the door panel, and two people were thrown out of the snow.
It turned out that two people had hidden in the snow, using a rope to tie the door panel as a trap.
Unfortunately, the door panel was too flimsy; instead of tripping Steven, they were thrown out themselves.
It proved that you shouldn't blindly imitate things from TV shows!
Steven immediately realized he had been ambushed!
Soon, seven or eight people had already climbed out of the snow, brandishing weapons and charging at Steven.
Steven took a deep breath, the cold air calming him down.
He quickly pulled out his gun from his pocket. By the time he had disengaged the safety, the eight people were already upon him.
Steven raised his gun and fired three shots!
If it were an ordinary person being this close, even with a gun, they might have been in trouble.
But Steven had precise shooting skills and a strong sense of spatial awareness, ensuring his bullets wouldn't miss.
Three bullets took down three people in front of him; each shot a headshot!
Before he could catch his breath, a few others with machetes were already within 3 feet of him.
The machetes were raised high, ready to strike Steven!
At the critical moment, Steven turned his gun.
Before the machete could fall, Steven's gun was aimed at the attacker's head, almost shoved into his mouth.
The attacker's body instantly stiffened, just as he was about to say something.
The next second, a gunshot rang out, and a hole appeared in his head.
This scene stunned the other attackers.
They had never seen anyone so skilled with a gun, taking down four of their men in an instant!
Could he be the legendary sharpshooter, Oscar Reynolds?
Steven didn't give them a chance to react, firing two more shots and taking down two more attackers.
At this point, the remaining four were terrified and turned to flee.
Steven aimed his gun at their backs, watching them desperately run through the snow, and suddenly changed his mind.
He bit the gun in his mouth and started the snowmobile to follow them.
The attackers couldn't run fast in the snow; it was more like crawling.
At this moment, the sound of the snowmobile roared in their ears, scaring them so much they wet their pants.
Steven caught up to the last person and rammed the snowmobile into him!
With half his body in the snow, Steven's snowmobile knocked him over and mercilessly ran him over.
What does it feel like to be run over by a 900-pound vehicle?
The man let out a blood-curdling scream as his spine was crushed, the snowmobile rolling over his back and then his head.
Hearing the scream, they got frightened, running desperately as if a demon was chasing them.
