Chapter 440 Transition
Seeing this horrifying scene, even Lily couldn't help but gasp.
This was the first time she had seen the power of Martial Prowess up close.
Steven had used it once on the battlefield before, but that time it was specifically to kill an enemy Psychic.
This time, at least four hundred zombies, including the Bronze Elite Zombie, were killed by this move!
After that, only some ordinary zombies and giant rats were left in Lily's direction.
Earl was stunned for a moment, then burst into arrogant laughter. "You pile of rotten meat! Watch me burn you all to ashes!"
He walked up with a flamethrower and started roasting them with glee.
In another direction, Henry, with the help of Fluffy, also gained the upper hand.
Although the giant Bronze Elite Zombie wasn't directly dealt with, the giant rats and zombies behind it were mostly cleared out.
After Fluffy dealt with the ordinary zombies and giant rats, it turned to help Henry with the Bronze Elite Zombie.
Steven had blocked the other two passages with Dimension Door.
So the horde of zombies behind the doors could only watch helplessly as Steven killed their kind, unable to come to their aid.
The situation on the battlefield reversed dramatically, and Steven's team won a great victory.
Even the usually cold-hearted Lily couldn't help but say to Steven, "Your power is terrifying now."
"I think at this moment, there isn't a single Psychic in all of Starlight City who could withstand your Martial Prowess without being prepared!"
Steven just smiled faintly. "What's the big deal?"
However, he then cautiously looked around.
"It's still too early to relax. I think our real opponent is nearby, and I'm waiting for him to show up."
Although these Bronze Elite Zombies seemed somewhat intelligent and were stronger than ordinary zombies, they couldn't possibly be the Zombie King!
If they didn't find the Zombie King today, this operation couldn't be considered a complete success.
Because no matter how many zombies they killed, even powerful ones like the Bronze Elite Zombie, it wouldn't stop the Zombie King from creating more minions.
As if in response to Steven's words, zombies began to gather in the two passages that weren't blocked.
From the depths of the tunnels, familiar heavy footsteps echoed.
In both directions, three more Bronze Elite Zombies appeared.
They stood there, staring coldly at Steven and his team.
The Bronze Elite Zombies' bodies were twisted, disgusting, and terrifying, a scene that would easizy induce despair.
"How can this be? How many of these monsters are there?"
Steven's Martial Prowess was a highly consuming, terrifyingly powerful Supernatural ability.
With his current Supernatural ability reserves, he could use it five times in a row.
But each use required a cooldown period.
If these six Bronze Elite Zombies charged again, their current combat strength wouldn't be enough to resist!
Earl was so scared his legs almost gave out. "We're doomed, what do we do now?"
The zombies didn't give them time to think.
The next moment, six Bronze Elite Zombies, along with a horde of zombies and giant rats, charged at them again.
"Are we gonna die here?" Earl screamed, his voice shaking with fear.
Steven's face grew more serious. He sighed softly. "Looks like this zombie mess is way worse than we thought, and whatever's behind it is even scarier."
As the more terrifying zombie horde closed in, Steven shouted to Henry and Fluffy, "Get back here!"
The Bronze Elite Zombie on their side had already been taken down. After it was killed, its limbs stopped moving, unlike the other zombies.
Steven noticed this. It seemed the Bronze Elite Zombie was a real creature, not just a host for a virus.
Fluffy and Henry quickly ran back to Steven's side when they heard his call.
At that moment, Steven closed his Double Dimension Door. Now, with no barriers, zombies from all directions roared and charged at Steven and his team. But Steven calmly opened another door in front of him and said, "Follow me!"
With that, Steven stepped through the door first. The others were momentarily stunned but quickly followed Steven into the Dimension Door.
When the zombie horde reached the spot, they found nothing. They couldn't understand why their prey had suddenly vanished into thin air. The tunnels echoed with their frustrated and eerie roars.
The next moment, above the tunnels, Steven and his team, who had just disappeared from the underground, reappeared in the snowy landscape above the subway tunnels.
"That was terrifying!" Steven patted his chest, still shaken. He took off his helmet and breathed in the cold air.
Even though he knew there wasn't much danger, it still felt like watching a horror movie, making his heart race. If it had been anyone else in that situation, they would have surely met a deadly end!
Henry and Lily also emerged from the Dimension Door. They were initially stunned by the outside scene but quickly understood.
"Steven, is this your new ability?" Henry asked.
Steven calmly replied, "Not exactly, just a new understanding of Dimension Door."
In the past, Steven's use of Dimension Door was pretty basic, only able to open one door. But now, with his growing power, he could open a second door.
Since both doors connected to The Extradimensional Space, he thought of a new use. He could turn the two doors into a passage through space.
So far, he could traverse up to 1,000 feet. That's why he dared to venture into the deep subway tunnels this time.
Earl, who had been scared out of his wits, was now lying on the ground, gasping for air. He said gratefully, "Captain Rogers, you should have told us you had this ability! Just now, I thought... I thought I'd be zombie food."
Steven joked, "I just wanted to surprise you."
Steven was always reluctant to reveal his Supernatural ability, even to his teammates. It wasn't about mistrusting them but about being cautious. He avoided anything that might expose his secrets, the key to survival.
His expression then turned serious. "But at first, I didn't think I'd really need to use this ability."
"This zombie crisis is more complex and terrifying than we imagined! Even now, I don't know how it will end."
