Chapter 402 Nora's Supernatural Ability

According to the agreement between the two parties, Steven took out one-third of the food and handed it over to Sebastian as a deposit.

Sebastian had brought enough people and sleds to take all the food back.

Seeing the food he had easily obtained, Sebastian felt very pleased.

Steven, on the other hand, appropriately showed a hint of hidden pain, which made Sebastian even happier.

"Steven, don't feel bad about this food. It's definitely worth it to cooperate with us at Frostwood Base!" Sebastian said to Steven with a smile.

Steven's lips curled slightly, and he squinted his eyes as he began to speak to Sebastian, "You remember that time in middle school when I threw down with those guys from the other class?"

Sebastian thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "Yes, I do. They were all over Hestia Sharp from our class, but she only had eyes for you."

Steven's voice turned sharp. "It was five against one. I knew I couldn't take them all, so I went straight for the leader and knocked out three of his teeth."

He pointed a finger at Sebastian, his gaze hardening. "This time, I'm handing over the goods, expecting you to hold up your end. But if you double-cross me, I don't care how many of you come at me—I'll take you down first. We'll see if Frostwood Base can still stand in Starlight City after that."

Sebastian felt a bit nervous at Steven's words and instinctively swallowed. "Steven, you don't trust me too much, do you? Let me tell you, I, Sebastian, am a man of my word!"

Steven smiled, "It's best if you keep your promise. I don't want us to end up fighting either!"

Sebastian had his people load the food and left Cox Town, occasionally glancing back at Steven warily.

He even forgot to ask if he could take some women from Cox Town back with him.

Henry said, "I hope we're not wasting our food on them!"

Steven shrugged, his tone casual. "The stuff we handed over was just canned crap we grabbed from West Mountain Base. It's not exactly gourmet. Once things settle down, Earl and I can stock up on as much of that junk as we want. No big deal!"

Henry laughed, "I'm just worried the food might feed ungrateful wolves. If they break the agreement, we'll be at a big loss!"

Sebastian turning on Steven after eating the supplies would definitely piss Steven off big time.

"They won't dare," Steven said, his voice steady but confident. "Francis hasn't changed much in over a decade. A leopard doesn't change its spots. Going from a nobody to suddenly having powers and leading a big crew doesn't mean he's got the brains or guts to run it. He plays it safe, avoids picking fights. He's terrified of losing everything he's got. I've already handed him a win. Compared to the risk of taking us on, he'll sit tight and cash in."

Honestly, most regular folks think that way.

Even Steven wasn't immune to it.

He'd put himself in Sebastian's shoes and figured, if he were in the same spot—clueless about the other guy's strength—he'd probably grab the food and bounce too.

"Of course, we can't completely rule out the possibility of them breaking the agreement. In any case, we should be prepared for all possibilities!"

Steven and his group returned to the shelter.

As soon as they entered the living room, they smelled the familiar aroma of food.

But today, the smell was even richer, making everyone feel invigorated just by smelling it!

Steven's eyes flashed, guessing who was cooking.

When he reached the kitchen, he saw that it was indeed Nora, who had recovered, cooking.

Several women were gathered around her, looking enchanted, already captivated by the aroma of the food.

Seeing Steven return, Nora's eyes lit up, and she said happily, "Steven, I've mastered the technique of using my Supernatural ability! Come and taste the food I've made!"

Steven's eyes sparkled as he smiled and said, "You've gotten the hang of it so quickly! Impressive."

He leisurely changed his clothes and then walked towards the kitchen.

Steven smiled and asked everyone, "Looks like you've all tasted Nora's cooking!"

Aubrey nodded enthusiastically, "Yes, Steven, Nora's food is delicious! After eating it, you feel energized and full of strength!"

Steven thought to himself: It seems her Supernatural ability not only works on Psychics but also has an effect on ordinary people. Quite convenient.

Usually, food just fills you up, but restoring energy like that? That's rare.

At the kitchen table, Steven saw Lily.

She looked much better and more energetic than before.

Steven was very curious and asked Nora, "Ms. Evans doesn't feel unwell after eating your food?"

Nora proudly waved the kitchen utensils in her hand, "Of course not! Eating my food makes people feel a hundred times more energetic! It can even eliminate negative physical states!"

Steven was shocked!

Nora picked up a bowl of oatmeal and handed it to Steven with great anticipation. "Steven, you should try it too!"

Seeing Nora's clear eyes, Steven felt embarrassed to refuse her in front of everyone.

He smiled as he took the bowl and then moved Fluffy to the side.

"It smells great; it must be delicious!" Steven said as he secretly scooped a spoonful and brought it to Fluffy's mouth.

Fluffy sniffed it and then ate it.

Seeing this, Steven felt a bit more at ease and took a small sip himself.

As soon as the oatmeal entered his mouth, he felt a strange energy surge into his body.

All his fatigue vanished, and he felt completely energized! He felt like he could drop to the ground and do a hundred push-ups right then and there!

"This food is incredibly beneficial!" Steven couldn't help but praise.

Then, Fluffy jumped up and started pawing at the bowl.

Nora happily served Fluffy a bowl as well.

Nora had awakened her Supernatural ability, and although it was more of a support type, its effects were remarkable, making everyone quite happy.

After all, with a big battle looming, any additional help was a good thing.

Elinor and Aubrey were very envious and hoped that Steven would soon use the remaining Frostheart.

Steven planned to wait a bit longer.

Only Cindy was dismissive of the so-called Frostheart.

She was convinced her brain was the ultimate Supernatural ability. If she ended up with some random skill like cooking from the Frostheart, she'd just see it as dead weight.

Everyone had tasted Nora's cooking and praised her ability!

Initially, Steven only took a small taste, but after not noticing anything unusual, he felt completely at ease.

He then went to ask Nora for specific information about her Supernatural ability.

Nora held nothing back from Steven. To prove her usefulness, she explained her ability in detail.

Since she had just awakened her Supernatural ability, the number of uses was limited.

She could only prepare food for about five people at a time.

The advantage was that it could quickly restore a person's state, including a Psychic's Supernatural ability.

After listening, Steven asked Nora, "Can the food you make with your Supernatural ability be stored? I mean, does its effectiveness diminish over time?"

Nora, somewhat uncertain, replied, "I haven't tried that... But I did notice that freshly made food is more effective."

Steven waved it off. "Doesn't matter. Starting today, crank out as much of that food as you can—stuff that's easy to carry. I'll figure out the storage part."

As long as the food Nora made was stored in the extradimensional space, there would be no need to worry about the loss of effectiveness.

This way, Steven could obtain a large amount of military rations.

In the long run, Psychics were gonna dominate the battlefield, and these rations would be gold—straight-up strategic assets.
