Chapter 81 The Police Station's Armory

Starlight City was completely silent.

The white snow covered everything. From a high vantage point, only the shadows of some tall buildings could be seen; the rest was all white snow.

Steven rode his snowmobile, speeding through the snow.

After nearly a month of self-isolation at home, this was the first time he had come out to race.

The wind blowing past his ears felt amazing!

Steven couldn't help but shout out in excitement.

The noise from the snowmobile was particularly attention-grabbing.

As Steven drove along, he saw shadows of people behind the glass of some high-rise buildings.

Even in the apocalypse, the tenacious vitality of humans always ensures that some will survive.

Like locusts, they could survive even after being sprayed with pesticides.

This extreme cold was like a pesticide, but after the disaster, the surviving humans would slowly adapt.

Steven touched the gun in his pocket, feeling a sense of security.

Anyone still alive in this city could be a potential threat.

In the apocalypse, never trust human nature.

Steven's first target wasn't the nearby supermarket.

He rode straight to the Starlight City police station because there must be weapons stored there.

Steven always kept in mind that all fear stems from a lack of firepower.

So weapons, especially firearms, were absolutely essential!

After driving for more than half an hour, Steven arrived at the Starlight City police station.

By now, most of it was buried.

The originally six-story building had its bottom three floors completely invisible.

Fortunately, the police station was a standalone building, with each floor being taller than residential buildings.

Otherwise, if Steven had come ten days later, there would have been nothing left.

He parked his snowmobile in front of a fourth-floor window.

After exiting his vehicle and pulling out the keys, he seized a crowbar, commencing a smashing spree.

With a loud crash, the tempered glass shattered all over the ground.

Steven took out his gun from his pocket and entered the building.

It was pitch dark inside, but that wasn't a problem for Steven. He directly took out a miner's lamp from the extradimensional space.

This was used by underground miners, small in size but very bright.

Once the lamp was on, it was like a small sun, illuminating the surroundings brightly.

Steven wasn't familiar with the internal layout of the police station, so he had to search room by room.

When he reached the second floor, covered in snow and ice, and pried open a locked room, the scene inside moved him slightly.

In the corner of the room, seven or eight officers were huddled together.

They were wrapped in thin blankets, their bodies whiter than the snow.

Steven took a deep breath, feeling somewhat sad.

They were night-shift officers who, when the blizzard hit, didn't even have warm clothing.

Judging by their appearance, they had frozen to death.

Steven wanted to bury them.

But after some thought, he felt that being buried in the place where they had dedicated many years of their lives might be a kind of closure.

He bowed his head in respect and mourned for them.

Then, he bypassed the bodies and continued searching.

The police station had a lot of clutter, so searching took time.

When Steven got tired, he took out a piece of pure cocoa butter chocolate from his space, ate it in large bites, and continued his search after regaining his strength.

After nearly two hours, Steven found the armory, but it was locked.

After failing to pry it open for a long time, he slapped his forehead, getting back to look for the key.

Luckily, he knew the key must be in the duty room, which wasn't hard to find.

Steven got the key and successfully opened the door.

Opening the armory, Steven was amazed.

There were many firearms inside, both pistols and rifles, totaling dozens.

Steven even found a large-caliber sniper rifle!

But he had never seen these things before and didn't know how to use them.

Steven didn't care; he took them all, planning to study them later.

Especially the sniper rifle, which was an excellent item!

Using it to secretly take out people in the future would be perfect for him!

Even if his aim wasn't that good, at least he could scare people.

Steven felt he had a talent for shooting, almost like a semi-professional, especially with handguns.

After being reborn, perhaps due to a stronger will, his shooting had become more decisive.

When he shot the Rapids gang members before, almost none of his bullets missed.

"I'm a shooting genius!" Steven said with a proud smile, almost mocking himself.

Then, he found over a thousand rounds of ammunition in the armory.

There were also old guns that had been confiscated, which had been there for who knows how many years and might not even fire anymore.

Steven didn't mind; he took them all.

This trip was a huge success!

Besides firearms and ammunition, Steven also found a dozen bulletproof vests and a complete set of riot gear, including riot helmets, shields, and batons.

"With these, I can form a pretty decent combat team in the future!" Steven was ecstatic.

He took all the items.

Just finding these made today's exploration worthwhile!

In the police station, Steven obtained a large amount of weapons and equipment.

This also confirmed one thing for him—there were still plenty of supplies out there!

After all, when the snowstorm hit on the night of December 12th, by the next day, the snow in front of people's doors was over three feet high, with temperatures reaching hundreds of degrees below zero Fahrenheit.

So, at that time, most people didn't realize the apocalypse had come and didn't start hoarding supplies.

By the time they realized something was wrong, it was too late to go out.

Steven left the police station after finding what he wanted.

A thick layer of snow had already accumulated on his snowmobile outside.

Steven then realized he had been out for most of the day.

"It's time to get some scraps for them."

Steven thought of those annoying neighbors and said indifferently.

He circled around and found a supermarket that wasn't completely buried.

Then he broke in through a window.

Once inside, he found that the supermarket was almost empty; the shelves were as clean as if they had just been bought.

There were some frozen rotten vegetable leaves on the ground.

Steven touched his chin and said, "This place is close to the residential area, so it's a convenience store. It's not surprising that it's been looted clean."

"But the large malls in the city and suburbs definitely haven't been touched."

Many newly built large malls are generally not close to residential areas due to the high land costs.

Steven had worked in related industries, so he knew which large malls in Starlight City were far from populated areas.

So he got on his snowmobile and headed to the economic development zone.

A Walmart mall had been built there two years ago, and the nearest residential building was two miles away, so the likelihood of it being looted was low.
