Chapter 84 I Don't Support Useless People

Steven looked at the neighbors in front of him and nodded in satisfaction.

Only after these neighbors had killed someone could they finally become qualified sacrifices.

It would be much easier for them to help him fend off attacks from other apartment buildings in the future.

And all he needed to give in return was a little bit of trash-like food and a bunch of unfulfilled promises.

Steven clapped his hands with a smile. "Fantastic! Did you see that? As long as we stick together, these people are nothing to be afraid of!"

He looked ahead and waved at the two most enthusiastic young men. "You two, come here!"

The two young men, faces beaming with joy, rushed to Steven without even wiping the blood off their faces.

Steven reached out, grabbed a handful of food from the ground, and shoved it into one of their arms.

One handful wasn't enough, so he grabbed another!

Inflated bread, moldy biscuits, dehydrated vegetable leaves, and a large piece of whitish meat!

These were all good things!

The other neighbors watched this scene enviously, swallowing their saliva. How they wished those things were theirs!

Steven stuffed a large pile of food into the arms of the two men and then patted their shoulders.

"Keep up the good work, and as long as you maintain this enthusiasm, I won't treat you badly!"

The two young men were so excited that their bodies trembled.

This food was enough to last them several days!

Tears streamed down their faces.

They hadn't eaten normal food in so long!

"Mr. Rogers, we will definitely listen to you from now on!"

"We'll do whatever you say; you're our master!"

These two young men, named Dennis Gray and Walter Bell, shouted at the top of their lungs.

At this moment, their eyes were filled with gratitude as they looked at Steven!

The other neighbors, seeing hope, secretly regretted not putting in more effort earlier.

This was exactly what Steven wanted to see.

After rewarding the two most hardworking young men, he said to the others, "Now, it's time to distribute the food. One by one!"

Steven had noted everyone's performance.

Those who worked hard would get a bit more, and those who didn't would get less.

However, most people only received a piece of bread or two small bags of biscuits, not even the size of a child's palm.

Steven had owned dogs before, so he understood one thing—if one let a dog eat too much every day, it becomes lazy and less obedient.

So, the best way was to keep it from starving but always in a state of hunger.

Only then would the dog remain obedient.

The same applied to people.

The neighbors, seeing the small amount of food in their hands, were somewhat disappointed but didn't dare to complain.

If one thought his food wasinsufficient, it was because one didn't work hard enough!

Look at Dennis and Walter; why did they get so much food?

Stop blaming others and start reflecting on themselves!

"Frank." Steven pointed at the rich scion Frank, who quickly walked over and extended his hands. "Where's my food?"

Steven looked at him with disdain, then moved his foot around on the ground, and casually placed a piece of fruit candy in his hand. "This is your food."

The surrounding neighbors laughed mockingly.

Even those who received little food felt much better.

'See, even though I got little food, there's someone who got even less!' the neighbors thought.

'Frank was truly unlucky!'

Frank's eyes widened, and a strong sense of humiliation overwhelmed him.

He angrily shouted, "Are you kidding me? Why do I only get a piece of candy?"

Steven sneered, "Why? While others were fighting, you were wandering around at the back. You didn't even touch those people. Giving you this candy is me being kind!"

Frank was very cunning.

During the fight, he shouted loudly and held a stick, yelling, "Kill, kill them!"

But while his voice was loud, he himself retreated to the back, unwilling to join the fight.

Hiding in front of Steven, he really thought everyone else was a fool.

Frank argued with wide eyes, "Is that my fault? There were only four of them, and everyone surrounded them so tightly that I had no chance to get in."

Steven said, "That's not my problem. I don't care about the process; I only care about the result."

Frank, exasperated and unwilling to give up, shouted, "This is unfair! You're being so unfair; you're targeting me."

Steven sneered contemptuously. "Fair? You must be mistaken about something."

"Do you think a useless person like you deserves to talk about fairness with me? Do you really think I'm reasoning with you?"

"I'm ordering you to obey my commands! Understand, you useless piece of trash?"

Steven glanced at Dennis and Walter. "How should we deal with someone who disobeys orders and has no sense of organization or discipline?"

Dennis and Walter had already become Steven's loyal subordinates.

With a command from Steven, the two carefully placed their food on the ground, then walked over and grabbed Frank, giving him a brutal beating!

Frank initially tried to argue.

But as soon as a fist landed hard on his stomach, his whole body convulsed.

In a post-apocalyptic world, anyone still thinking about reasoning was an absolute fool.

Besides using their fists to teach him a lesson, there was no need to waste words on him.

After Frank was beaten to the point of being barely alive, Steven finally ordered Dennis and Walter to stop.

Although Frank was useless, he could still be used as cannon fodder when armed.

Steven pointed at Frank and said to the crowd, "This is what happens when you disobey my orders!"

"Don't say I'm heartless; I'm very fair. If you think I'm heartless, you can put down your food and leave with dignity right now! I won't cause you any trouble!"

The neighbors looked at each other, but no one stepped forward.

Was he kidding? Food was their lifeline; how could they give it up?

Steven nodded. "Good, then we have an understanding."

He walked over to Frank. Although Frank was convulsing and curled up into a ball, his hand still tightly clutched the candy.

A piece of fruit candy might just save his life.

Steven's eyes were cold as he stomped hard on Frank's hand!

He was wearing snow boots with very rough and hard soles.

Steven's stomp peeled a layer of skin and flesh off Frank's hand, causing it to bleed profusely!

"Ah!!!"

Frank screamed in agony and involuntarily let go of the candy.

Steven kicked the candy away and said to Frank, who looked at him in despair, "Next time, I hope you learn your lesson. I don't keep useless people!"

With this deterrent, everyone became obedient.

They all waited quietly for Steven to distribute the food, not daring to voice any opinions.

Soon, Steven finished distributing the food, and only a few people were left without any.
