Chapter 364 Healing Touch

Steven was a natural pessimist who liked to plan for the worst.

So, even though he already possessed formidable combat power, he remained vigilant.

In fact, purely in terms of armed forces, the combat power he currently held can rival West Mountain Base, the once most powerful organization in Starlight City.

Although he didn't have ordinary soldiers, he was far ahead in the application of weaponry.

West Mountain Base didn't have any spatial Psychics, so those heavy weapons in their warehouse could only sit idle underground.

Steven, however, could transport them to the surface for use.

Plus, he commanded a large team of Psychics, so even if he encountered the army of West Mountain Base now, he can still put up a fight!

"Purely considering defense and not taking the initiative to attack, my chances of winning should be around 95%?" Steven muttered to himself, frowning slightly. "Only a 95% chance? That's just like any other success rate. If I go out and fight them, wouldn't that be courting death?"

With a determined look, he clenched his fist and said, "I've decided, I won't step a foot outside the defensive perimeter!"

Saying this, he took out Christian's satellite phone from the extradimensional space and then called Fluffy over, saying a few words to it.

Late at night, the entire shelter fell into silence. The door to Steven's room slowly opened.

Fluffy quietly walked out of the room, holding a satellite phone in its mouth, and silently descended the stairs.

The shelter's main door slowly opened, and Fluffy left the shelter, running swiftly toward Cox Town across the river.

Snow covered the tall buildings at Seldwa District, which used to be the most prosperous area of Starlight City.

But after the apocalypse, it seemed to have turned into a forest of tombstones in the snow.

The gray and black concrete buildings were lifeless, just like the world before them.

However, in a large cathedral in Seldwa District, the place was brightly lit with candles, and thousands of believers were packed together.

They looked up devoutly, murmuring prayers.

Where their eyes were focused, under a giant cross, stood a young woman dressed in a white robe and wrapped in a white headscarf.

She clasped her hands together, closed her eyes devoutly, and wore a compassionate expression.

As she gently parted her lips, a deep and melodious prayer echoed through the cathedral.

"Heavenly snow, earthly beings,

Our bodies born from the earth,

Our souls from the heavens.

The sun and moon shine upon us,

Pure white snow cleanses our souls.

We give our bodies to the cold wind,

Thank the heavens for miracles granted to the Snow God's land.

May our hearts remain healthy,

I wish to share joy with my compatriots,

And share their sorrows.

Praise the people of the Snowfall Cult,

Let us bear witness with our souls and bodies."

As Snowfall Cult leader Natasha chanted the prayer, a strange power spread throughout the cathedral.

Her voice carried a certain magic, soothing people's hearts, making them forget hunger, cold, and pain.

Everyone believed this to be a miracle, and they bowed their heads even more devoutly.

They showed loyalty to the great Snow God and to the Snow God's earthly representative, Snowfall Cult leader Natasha.

After finishing the prayer, Natasha slowly turned to face the crowd.

From her face, it was clear that she was not very old, at most twenty.

But no one dared to question her authority.

Even the powerful priests under her bowed respectfully when facing her. Because everything they had now was given by Natasha.

She was one of the most miraculous Psychics on this land, because she possessed a Supernatural Ability called "Blessing", which could help others awaken their Supernatural Abilities.

It was with this ability that she could have such a large-scale religious following in an almost hopeless environment.

The prayer session ended, and next was the Healing Touch session.

There was a brief commotion in the crowd, but it quickly subsided, and everyone looked at Natasha as if gazing at a deity.

A frail woman holding a child stumbled through the crowd and walked up to Natasha. She trembled as she knelt down, raising her child high.

Natasha looked down and saw that the child's skin was already somewhat pale and blue, barely breathing, as if he couldn't survive.

Natasha's eyes showed a compassionate look as she gently placed her right hand on his forehead.

A warm current, a breeze, and a ray of white light swept through the cathedral.

Moments later, the baby slowly opened his eyes and let out a loud cry.

Hearing this sound, every believer in the cathedral's eyes lit up with excitement.

"A miracle! A miracle!" they called out. "Praise the great Snow God, praise the great Snow God's earthly representative, leader Natasha!"

This was her other ability, "Healing Touch," which could heal physical ailments.

The ability to attract so many followers owed much to the power of Healing Touch.

Several more Healing Touch sessions followed and Natasha's face showed a hint of fatigue.

A man in white clothes with long hair standing beside her stepped forward and said, "Leader, please rest for a while! Healing Touch can continue tomorrow."

Hearing this, some believers who were still unhealed showed a trace of anxiety in their eyes.

In such an environment, any minor illness could lead to silent death in sleep if left untreated for a day.

Natasha slowly shook her head and said softly, "Continue!"

Natasha's deputy, Snowfall Cult High Priest Neil Torres, reluctantly stepped aside.

In the Snowfall Cult, Natasha represented the will of the Snow God, and her thoughts could not be defied by anyone.

However, during the Blessing ceremony, a sudden explosion was heard outside. Then, the piercing sound of gunfire continuously rang out.

The cathedral immediately became agitated, with many women quickly hugging their children, closing their eyes in fear.

Natasha looked expressionlessly toward the source of the sound and sighed softly. Beside her, High Priest Neil's eyes flashed with a cold light.

"SG-O, SG-T, protect the leader! Dean, SG-TH, SG-FO, come with me to face the enemy!" Neil instructed.

On either side of the altar stood the priests of the Snowfall Cult, second only to leader Natasha and High Priest Neil.

Natasha was the symbol of the Snowfall Cult and usually did not directly manage church affairs.

So High Priest Neil handled the church's affairs and resisted external enemies on her behalf.

With Neil's orders, two powerful priests immediately stood vigilantly on either side of Natasha, responsible for her protection.

Neil, meanwhile, led his men past the congregation and out of the cathedral.

Natasha clasped her fingers together and silently prayed. "May the Snow God protect his followers, keeping us away from war and suffering!"

In the cathedral, the adult men seemed to be inspired by something, stepping forward with eyes full of fervent devotion.

They walked toward the door, following the priests.

After they left, the cathedral doors were tightly shut, and Natasha calmly said, "Let's continue the Healing Touch ceremony."
