Chapter 489 The Human Front

The wave of zombies surged toward the human fortifications.

Human warriors, fully armed with battle axes and machetes, let out fierce roars as they charged forward!

Meanwhile, the massive Bronze Elite Zombies were taking their sweet time, hanging back at the rear of the horde.

There weren't a ton of them, just a few hundred compared to the hundreds of thousands of regular zombies.

But each of these few hundred Bronze Elite Zombies packed a punch as strong as a Psychic!

Seeing them, Megan felt a shiver run down her spine. The memory of one of these monsters tearing her subordinate Lester to shreds was still vivid.

"How are we supposed to fight so many Bronze Elite Zombies?" Byron asked, looking shell-shocked.

He had thought these Bronze Elite Zombies were super rare. But now, hundreds of them had shown up!

Megan's eyebrows knitted together as she said in a determined voice, "What are you scared of? We'll take down as many as come our way!"

At this point, there was no turning back, only a fight to the death!

Even though the size of the horde and the number of Bronze Elite Zombies were mind-blowing, they had no choice but to fight!

The horde's strategy was smart, using giant rats and regular zombies to wear down human strength first. The Bronze Elite Zombies, the big guns, were saved for later.

What they didn't know was that high above, Steven had already marked them as his targets.

He had switched to a heavy anti-materiel sniper rifle, and the specially made bullets were locked and loaded.

Steven lay on the balcony, aiming at the triangular head—or more precisely, the eye—of a massive Bronze Elite Zombie.

"Let's see what you got!"

The roar of the anti-materiel sniper rifle echoed from the rear of the battlefield.

The armor-piercing bullet, boosted with the strongest spatial Psychic ability from Starlight City and made of special materials, shot straight into the head of the Bronze Elite Zombie!

The massive impact sent it crashing to the ground.

The Bronze Elite Zombie's skull defense was insane; the bullet didn't go all the way through its head!

But the high-energy bullet started burning its brain matter the moment it entered its skull.

Bronze Elite Zombies were clearly different from regular zombies; they had some level of consciousness; or rather, they had their own life.

The life force of that Bronze Elite Zombie was terrifyingly strong. It roared in pain, sweeping away dozens of zombies around it before finally dying there.

Seeing this, Steven's smile was wide and clear. "Yep, it worked!"

After the last run-in with the Bronze Elite Zombies, Steven had spent a lot of time prepping for another battle when he got back to the shelter.

With the intel from Lily and Henry, he had a rough idea of the Bronze Elite Zombies' defense.

Then he ran experiments based on this data to boost the sniper's power.

That shot just now could have punched through the outer armor of a tank!

Indeed, his hard work paid off, and Steven nailed it!

"Let's keep going!"

Steven knew the Bronze Elite Zombies were the biggest threat to human forces.

So he started specifically targeting and taking out the Bronze Elite Zombies hidden in the horde.

Actually, they were not hidden—their bodies were so huge that there was no need to search for them deliberately.

Steven adjusted his aim, focusing on the eyes of the Bronze Elite Zombies.

The roar of the anti-materiel sniper rifle echoed throughout the Snowfall Cult base.

The streaks of bullets pierced the night sky, and one Bronze Elite Zombie after another fell among the horde before they even knew what hit them.

This scene caught the eyes of people from several major forces.

One moment they were terrified by the appearance of the Bronze Elite Zombies, and the next, they were stunned to see the Bronze Elite Zombies being shot down!

"Someone can actually take down a Bronze Elite Zombie? Who the heck did this?" They glanced back towards the source of the bullets and spotted Steven, perched on top of a high building, sniper rifle in hand.

Megan, Leonard, and the others were left speechless.

Was this the true extent of Steven's power?

They couldn't help but remember the chaos he caused during the last battle of the five armies.

Steven had single-handedly given them a run for their money, making them too scared to even show their faces.

And now, Steven's strength was clearly on a whole new level!

"Steven, what a terrifying man!" Megan muttered to herself.

Leonard sighed, "We should steer clear of him in the future! Otherwise, we might not even know when we get sniped to death by him."

But for now, Steven was on their side.

The powerful Bronze Elite Zombies were being taken down one by one by Steven, giving a huge boost to the morale of the allied soldiers, making them realize that these seemingly unstoppable monsters could be defeated.

The soldiers' fear of the Bronze Elite Zombies faded, and they roared as they charged into battle with the horde!

And the Psychics at various fortifications sprang into action!

At each fortification, thousands of warriors stood like a flimsy shield, weakly blocking the advance of the hundreds of thousands of zombies, yet this shield managed to halt the horde's advance!

Sebastian, riding on the back of a tall mutated wolf, had a look of determination as solid as indestructible metal.

A white light emerged from his unyielding body, covering him and then extending to all the soldiers behind him—[Sebastian Legion]!

This ability enveloped the entire unit, massively boosting the soldiers' morale and combat power!

Their physiques visibly changed, becoming more robust and resilient, with their energy and spirit significantly enhanced!

Wielding massive battle axes, they roared to the sky, their shouts even louder than the horde's.

Sebastian, holding a battle axe taller and wider than himself, leaped high from the mutated wolf and smashed into the center of the horde!

The massive battle axe swept through the air, creating a huge storm that sliced dozens of zombies in half!

With their leader charging ahead, the others naturally followed suit, roaring as they clashed with the horde!

The giant mutated wolf also jumped into the horde, spewing a massive cold breath from its mouth, freezing a large number of zombies into ice sculptures.

With a fierce shake of its body, it shattered those ice sculptures into pieces.

Among the five major forces, only the men from Frostwood Base dared to engage in such close combat with the horde!

Surprisingly, the side under the least pressure was Silverlake Base.

In terms of strength, they weren't the strongest among the five major forces, especially after the battle of the five armies, their combat power had been halved!

However, on the battlefield covered in blizzards, Leonard's [ Lord of Ice and Snow ] was overwhelmingly powerful.

"Maybe I'm not great at one-on-one, but in the realm of ice and snow, I am the king!"

Leonard, covered in frost armor, raised his hands high.

In front of him, within a 2-mile radius, the ice and snow 50 feet below the ground exploded!

Thousands of zombies, caught off guard, fell into the snow pits and were buried by the snow!

With Leonard's ability, clearing these zombies was a piece of cake.

Although he couldn't kill these zombies, their goal tonight was very clear: to delay the horde's advance and buy time for the investigation team.

Leonard waved his hands, causing large areas of snow to explode.

His elegant movements were like those of a conductor, with the ice and snow on the ground dancing to his gestures, so beautiful and magnificent.

The once hard-trodden snow, once broken again, became very easy to sink into, especially with the high density of zombies.

They struggled frantically in the snow, unable to climb out for a while.
