Chapter 432 Backhand

If Steven and his team were somewhat afraid of the zombie horde before and didn't dare to go all out, this time they had basically figured out the true strength of these zombies.

They possessed greater speed and strength than ordinary people, but ultimately were far inferior to Psychics.

Steven and his team were the top Psychic team in Starlight City, and if they really wanted to fight, dealing with these thousands of zombies would be no problem at all!

The four people and one beast adopted guerrilla tactics, surrounding the zombie horde like sheepdogs herding sheep, and then proceeded to eliminate them!

The zombies did not realize Steven and his team's intentions and continued to follow their instinct to attack.

The result was a large-scale massacre!

Steven held a shotgun, able to shatter five or six zombies with a single shot from a distance.

With his eightfold speed boost, there was no way these zombies could catch up to him.

Fluffy and Lily were on the periphery, swiftly harvesting zombies like slicing meat.

Henry and Earl controlled the field and dealt massive damage from the front.

While killing zombies, Steven observed the situation of the horde.

He wanted to confirm whether the Zombie King was among the horde or if it could control the horde from a distance.

Theoretically, the Zombie King possessed a higher level of intelligence.

Once it realized it was in danger of dying, it would choose to retreat.

Sure enough, when the number of zombie casualties reached half, the horde suddenly began to panic.

They turned around and ran frantically in the direction they came from, which was towards the Floral Springs Subway Station.

"Where are you rushing off to?" Steven sneered.

The retreat route had long been cut off by him and Fluffy.

These zombies wouldn't escape so easily!

The man and the cat blocked the retreat path of the horde and began a frenzied slaughter!

Fluffy transformed into The Black Blade War Chariot, effectively dealing with these undead zombies by slicing them into pieces!

Steven's shotgun, enhanced by his Supernatural ability, was also particularly effective in shattering zombies.

With Earl's Frost Blizzard Fury hindering their movements, the horde found it difficult to act.

After half an hour of battle, this batch of zombies was almost completely wiped out!

Steven deliberately left one zombie alive, only cutting off its hands and jaw.

Now, the zombie's lower jaw was completely removed, and its upper teeth were shaved off, making it completely incapable of harming anyone.

"Captain, what's the plan?" Earl and the others gathered around, unsure of Steven's next move.

Steven took out an infrared camera and inserted it into the zombie's eyeball.

"After this wave of probing, I can basically conclude that the Zombie King is not among the horde," he said. "These freaks aren't here to wipe us out. They're here to gather intel and report back to their boss. Every time we fight, the ones that survive relay the info. The more they learn, the worse it gets. Once they've got us figured out, that's when the real army shows up!"

Steven's lips curled into a cold smile, his eyes filled with frost. "We gotta flip the script and stop playing by their rules. Let this guy do the dirty work—scout out what's lurking in the subway."

The others understood Steven's intention.

Lily immediately asked, "You mean to investigate the situation deep in the subway and then find an opportunity to destroy the zombies' lair?"

Steven answered without hesitation, "If the chance is there, we take it. Those freaks are getting smarter every time we face 'em. I can't promise they won't figure us out eventually, and if they do, we're screwed. Best way to stay aliveis to hit them first."

After speaking, Steven kicked the zombie, sending it flying.

It quickly got up from the snow and ran frantically towards the Floral Springs Subway Station without looking back.

"Let's see how much good news this zombie can bring us!" Steven smiled as he watched the zombie with the infrared camera run off, then turned back to the shelter after a while.

Lily, deep in thought, followed Steven back.

So far, these zombies hadn't posed much of a threat to them.

Given Lily's past personality, she might have already chosen to delve into the subway and kill all those zombies.

After all, their displayed combat power wasn't that formidable.

But Steven had taught her a valuable lesson.

Even with great strength, one must go all out and stay vigilant when facing unknown opponents.

Only this way can one survive in this world full of unknowns.

Back inside, Steven immediately turned on the TV to check the footage received from the infrared camera.

The zombie ran wildly, reaching the entrance of the Floral Springs Subway Station after more than ten minutes.

It leaped into the deep tunnel, and after a few seconds, the camera stabilized.

In the dead of night, everything was blurry.

The infrared camera could detect thermal reactions of living and non-living things, but without any living beings, the view remained pitch black.

So for a long time, Steven and the others saw only darkness.

After an unknown amount of time, red lights appeared in the view.

Humanoid lights.

One, two, three...

A group of zombies appeared densely in the underground space.

Soon, the view was filled with red light, making it impossible to see human shapes because everything was dark red!

Unlike the bright red of normal humans, these were all dead bodies, but due to the strange zombie virus, they showed some signs of living energy.

For a while, the screen was dominated by this dark red.

It was clear the view was moving, but after a long time, the surrounding light not only didn't weaken but intensified.

These were all zombies hidden in the subway tunnels!

"How many zombies are down there?" Earl couldn't help but ask.

"Just imagine how many people died in Starlight City, and you'll know," Henry replied.

"Do all the dead in Starlight City turn into zombies? What about us?" Earl hugged himself in fear, like a delicate girl, making others want to punch him.

Cindy explained, "We don't know for sure. It's only if the virus gets into a body. But if we don't stop it soon, yeah, that day won't be far off."

Steven smiled wryly, "Indeed! Starlight City's a graveyard now. Even if we tried rounding up all the bodies, there's no way we'd get all ten million of 'em. And you know what that means—more zombies. So, we cut it off at the source. Take out the Zombie King, and we're good."

Just as he finished, a massive heat signature popped up on the screen.

Humanoid, but taller and thinner.

Judging by the nearby zombies, it was about 10 feet tall and very slender.

Everyone instinctively held their breath, staring at the screen.

Suddenly, a ghastly white face appeared on the screen, with an incredibly eerie smile.
