Chapter 334 The Private Lessons of the Home Tutor

Steven and the other two were discussing plans to build a defensive line.

The women in the house, led by Emilia, were gathered together playing cards.

When Elinor came over to get some water, she overheard the three men's conversation and couldn't help but laugh, "Now that the West Mountain Base has been wiped out, you guys are even more cautious than before."

She thought there would be at least a relatively long period of peace in the future.

After all, with such a powerful organization like the West Mountain Base being eliminated, even if there were other armed forces, they surely wouldn't dare to approach this place easily.

Steven, however, said, "We must be careful about everything! We can't rely on others to act a certain way, but we can make our safety measures the best they can be!"

In the post-apocalyptic world, good safety measures were crucial.

The three of them were tireless in their efforts.

Men were always passionate about topics like construction, cars, and women.

Even if there was nothing to do, the three of them would want to build a wall just for fun.

This was what you called combining hobbies with reality, a perfect match.

Earl asked, "Captain Rogers, do you really think there will be armed forces coming here afterward? There's no way Starlight City has a force stronger than the West Mountain Base!"

Earl's statement was theoretically sound.

The West Mountain Base controlled the only garrison in Starlight City, making it the most powerful armed organization in the city.

Steven smiled faintly. "Earl, you forgot to consider one situation."

Steven tapped the table with his finger and said playfully, "The West Mountain Base was indeed wiped out by us. But others might not know about it. In the eyes of outsiders, we're just a group of ordinary people, not even considered a force."

Earl suddenly realized, "That does make sense. Then let's hurry up and build the defensive line! To be honest, I'm a bit scared."

Steven nodded and didn't plan to delay any further.

The sooner the defensive line was built, the more secure they would feel.

Steven asked, "Earl, Henry, are you both in your best physical condition right now?"

Henry patted his chest, replying, "My body has long been fine; the side effects of those drugs don't affect me much."

Steven laughed, "Does that mean the stimulants don't have much effect on you either?"

"They still have some effect," Henry replied.

At this moment, Earl quickly spoke up. "I still need to recover; I've been feeling weaker lately."

Steven gave Earl a meaningful look. "Have you been using the virtual girlfriend I gave you too much?"

Earl blushed as if his secret had been exposed. "What do you mean by too much! A single man's business, relieving loneliness... that's called relieving loneliness. It's not overindulgence!"

The living room was filled with cheerful laughter again.

Only when Earl was around could everyone be this happy.

But even when Earl wasn't there, they still lived like this.

"My physical strength has almost recovered too. How about this, in three days, let's go to the West Mountain Base and loot everything useful from that place" Steven said.

"Sure, no problem!" Henry said.

"Captain Rogers, can you give me a few boxes of supplements to boost my body?" Earl asked.

Steven, very understanding, said, "Sure, I'll give you more; you can eat them like meals!"

"Captain Rogers, you're so good to me!" Earl said gratefully.

The three of them chatted for a while longer about how to make the defensive line more perfect to effectively defend against enemy attacks.

However, after experiencing the siege by the West Mountain Base's special forces, Steven's mindset had undergone a huge change.

Even if he faced such large-scale battles in the future, he wouldn't feel panicked.

Especially after absorbing Charles and several special forces members, his personal strength had greatly increased!

Confidence came from strong power.

After a while, Lily came over and rang the doorbell.

"Isn't this Ms. Evans? What is she doing here?" Earl touched his chin, suddenly thinking of something, and winked at Steven, "Captain Rogers, did you make her your woman too?"

Steven smirked. "Look at you, I'm not that kind of person! We have a pure relationship. She's my tutor, got it?"

Henry laughed. "A pure relationship between a man and a woman? You guys have some new tricks."

Earl, on the other hand, was savoring Steven's mention of "tutor," and couldn't help but think of several adult film stars.

"Captain Rogers, you really know how to have fun!" Earl said admiringly.

Steven ignored the ambiguous looks from the two men and opened the door to let Lily in.

When Lily entered, she found the place particularly lively, with everyone there.

The men were gathered together, drinking coffee and chatting; the women were playing cards and gossiping.

This warm atmosphere made her feel like she had entered another world.

You have to know, in Cox Town, she was with those students, enduring the harsh cold of minus 140 degrees Fahrenheit, playing both father and mother, which was very exhausting.

Unconsciously, Lily felt very envious of Elinor and the others.

Aubrey and Cindy warmly greeted Lily.

They still had a lot of respect for Lily.

Lily's ability to maintain her kindness in the post-apocalyptic world was rarer than a national treasure.

Lily might be a bit overprotective of her students, but she relied on her own strength to do so, rather than standing on a moral high ground and demanding resources from others.

Seeing her two students doing well, Lily showed a gentle smile. "Seeing you both doing so well now, I can rest easy!"

Cindy smiled sweetly. "Steven treats us very well. We're very happy here."

Saying this, Cindy regretfully held Lily's hand and looked at her sincerely. "Ms. Evans, it must be very hard for you out there, right? If you want, I can ask Steven to let you stay with us."

"I really miss you." Lily had always been particularly fond of Cindy, partly because Cindy was disabled.

Hearing Cindy's words, Lily felt a bit moved, but thinking of the students in Cox Town, she reluctantly shook her head and refused.

She said, "I can't leave! If I go, the other students will have a hard time surviving in such harsh conditions. As a teacher, at the very least, I have to teach them how to adapt to the environment and gain survival skills."

Cindy nodded. "Ms. Evans, you're still as gentle as ever! But these two things don't conflict."

Cindy smiled and explained, "If you move into the shelter, you can still help them. After all, they're grown-ups; they shouldn't be unable to be without you for even a moment!"

"On the contrary, Ms. Evans, if you really want them to become independent, you have to let them learn how to survive in the post-apocalyptic world on their own. Ms. Evans, don't you think what I'm saying makes sense?"

Lily's eyes flickered, clearly moved by Cindy's words.

"But Steven wouldn't agree to let me move in, would he?" Lily scratched her cheek awkwardly, "I'm not that familiar with him. And if I move into the shelter alone, leaving Warren and the others outside, wouldn't that be unfair?"

Cindy smiled at Lily, knowing she was already tempted.

"I'll talk to him about it!" Cindy said. "As for the other students, Ms. Evans, no matter where you live, their living conditions won't change. If they stop you from moving into the shelter, wouldn't that be too selfish?"

Cindy kept guiding Lily; she was confident that once Lily moved into the shelter, she wouldn't want to leave.

Lily was responsible, not foolish.

Once she got used to living in such a comfortable environment, she wouldn't want to return to the freezing cold outside.

As long as Lily moved in, the other students outside would lose their protection.

Then, if the opportunity arose, Steven could deal with them all.

Cindy had her plan in mind, and her smile became even more innocent.

"I'll think about it," Lily said, but she was already somewhat tempted.

Cindy knew that was enough; if she pushed further, it might backfire, so she didn't say more.

Cindy smiled faintly, nodded innocently, and said, "Alright, Ms. Evans. If you make up your mind, just let me know!"

"Okay." Lily smiled.

Not far away, Steven stood up from the sofa and walked toward Lily.

Although he didn't know what Lily and Cindy had talked about, he was sure Cindy was helping him win Lily over.

"Lily, let's go downstairs! There are too many people here; it's inconvenient," Steven said to Lily with a smile.

These words made the women playing cards nearby glance over.

Lily blushed, feeling that Steven's words could easily be misunderstood.

But on second thought, his words didn't seem to have any problem, so Lily nodded and followed Steven to the basement.

The two of them went to the sports arena on the third basement level.

Steven looked at Lily's worn-out clothes and took out a complete set of clothes from the extradimensional space, handing them to her.

A down jacket, a wool sweater, thermal underwear, and sneakers.

Even including underwear and socks.

Of course, there was also a tracksuit for indoor activities.

"There's a bathroom here; you can take a shower first!" Steven pointed to the bathroom not far away.

Lily blushed deeply.

Although she was a skilled fighter, she was still a woman.

Steven didn't directly say he thought she was dirty, but she couldn't help but think that way.

She could only lower her head and whisper, "I don't have the conditions to change clothes and take hot showers outside."

Steven laughed, "I didn't say anything! You're overthinking it."

Lily's face turned red, and she tossed her ponytail, picked up the clothes, and went to take a shower.

After a while, she finished her shower and changed into the sportswear Steven had prepared for her.

She wore a gray sports vest on her upper body, revealing her healthy, tanned skin, with clear muscle lines on her abdomen.

She wore black fitted sports pants on her lower body, showing off her firm and smooth lines, a result of years of training.

She had a black sweatband on her head, revealing her clean, bright forehead, adding a touch of heroic spirit to her already determined expression.

Steven looked at Lily's appearance and nodded in satisfaction.

"Ms. Evans, let's begin!" Steven said.

Lily stared at Steven, a barely noticeable mischievous smile on her lips.

"Learning fighting techniques is tough; you better be prepared!" she said.
