Chapter 480 Fight to the End!

Seeing Neil compromised, Otha smiled and adjusted his sunglasses. "Alright, I've got the battle plan all figured out!"

Since their enemies were basically brainless zombies, coming up with a strategy was a piece of cake.

Otha had already nailed down the ins and outs of the zombie horde, so he had a solid plan ready to go.

He quickly laid it out for everyone.

First off, once everyone gathered at Snowfall Cult, they'd draw all the zombies in Starlight City to that spot.

Because of the distance, the zombies would show up at different times.

The five major forces would hold the fort around Snowfall Cult, baiting the underground zombies to attack.

Meanwhile, Otha and six others would form a hit squad to go underground and take out the Zombie Kings!

They'd pulled off this plan before, so they knew it could work.

"That's the gist of it," Otha said.

Sebastian rubbed his arms and asked, "So we're the bait to lure the zombies?"

Otha, cool and confident, replied, "Yep, that's the idea! It's a big trap, waiting for the zombies to fall in. They're led by dumb creatures, so once you figure out the right approach, it's not that tough."

Even though Otha made it sound easy, everyone felt the weight of the situation.

Steven chimed in, "Sounds straightforward. But if we attract all the zombies in Starlight City, how many are we talking about?"

"Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Or even more?"

"With just us and barely any defenses, holding them off is gonna be intense!"

Steven wasn't scared of the zombies, but without solid defenses, fighting in the streets of Snowfall Cult's city center wasn't his strong suit.

Otha responded, "When the time comes, we'll need everyone to fight like there's no tomorrow!"

"This is for your home. Fight to the end!"

Steven shrugged. Otha had a point, and he couldn't argue.

Starlight City was indeed their turf, and dealing with the zombie crisis would benefit the five major forces the most.

Neil scanned the crowd, looking skeptical.

He said coldly, "I'm just worried some folks might slack off, causing big losses for our Snowfall Cult. What then?"

Megan shot Neil a disdainful look and sneered, "Neil, quit being paranoid!"

"When the zombie army attacks, who'd dare slack off? That'd be suicide!"

Neil thought about it and realized Megan was right. Even if they wanted to slack off, they couldn't.

Otha looked around at everyone. "So, anyone got any objections?"

Steven and the others didn't have major issues since they weren't fighting on their home turf.

Natasha, who had been quiet, finally spoke up, "While we're attracting the zombies, I hope we can protect those who can't fight, especially the kids!"

The followers of Snowfall Cult weren't afraid of dying. When needed, they could lay down their lives for their beliefs.

But there were lots of women and kids in the cult who couldn't fight. They couldn't just let them get torn apart by the zombies.

When Otha heard Natasha mention the kids, a weird look crossed his face but vanished quickly.

"Of course. Where's the safest spot around here? We can clear out a space for the kids who can't fight. Anyone under fourteen can go in."

"The rest need to help defend against the zombie hordes."

Only the little ones could hide in a safe place; everyone else had to act as bait to draw the zombies in!

Steven thought of Elinor and decided he'd have her stay with the kids. No need to bring it up now; as a leader, he could make that call.

Natasha suggested, "Let's use this church as the sanctuary!"

She clasped her hands and looked devoutly at the cross above the altar.

"God will protect His faithful followers!"

The Church of the Holy Ground was smack in the middle of the cult's area and was the safest spot.

If the enemy broke through to here, things would be really bad.

Plus, the church had a basement where people could hide if things got critical.

The others didn't know the area as well as the Snowfall Cult folks. Since Natasha picked this spot, everyone was cool with it.

So, everyone agreed: the five forces would lure the zombies, and the investigation team would go after the Zombie Kings, taking the most dangerous job.

No one objected. After all, besides them, no other force could pull it off, not even Steven.

After hashing out the details, Otha started setting up defenses.

The four directions—east, south, west, and north—were each covered by one of the four forces.

Steven's team, being elite and fewer in number, would act as a special squad, jumping in wherever needed.

No one had issues with this. They just argued about the specifics of their defensive tasks before finalizing the plan.

Otha handed out communication devices to everyone. These were high-tech gadgets that connected directly to the Nebula satellite system, able to work even in extremely tough conditions.

Communication was key on the battlefield, and these devices made sure the five forces could coordinate in real-time.

"This fight might drag on; it won't be over in just a day or two. Everyone should be ready for a long haul." Otha reminded them.

He didn't really need to say it; everyone got it.

Now gathered here, they were bait to attract all the zombies in Starlight City.

No one knew when the zombies would show up or how many there'd be, which meant they'd be living in this area for a while.

Steven didn't mind.

Even though the living conditions here were worse than in the shelter, they could rest in the snow vehicles.

Steven had enough food, and they could turn on the heater in the vehicle, so it wasn't too bad.
