Chapter 101 Fair Thighs
Looking at Caleb's mournful expression, Nathaniel finally suppressed the urge to hit him.
In a few words, Ashley quickly walked a few steps to catch up, glancing at Nathaniel’s gloomy face. She glanced around the three of them, not knowing what they were talking about a second ago, vaguely feeling that the atmosphere was not quite right.
"Nathaniel, you're here!"
Ashley only greeted Nathaniel, unwilling to acknowledge Aurelia as her sister-in-law.
Nathaniel nodded, speaking sternly, "Didn't you see Aurelia here, too? Why didn't you greet her?"
Ashley, in a hurry, almost blurted out her thoughts, "I would never..."
After hesitating for a moment, she reluctantly uttered, "Hello, Aurelia."
Nathaniel's tense face finally softened a bit.
After exchanging greetings, Ashley's gaze was fixed on Caleb. "Caleb, if I had known it was you, I would have gone to Sinclair Media to find you."
Caleb, still immersed in the emotions of heartbreak, didn't react immediately. "Why would you look for me?"
"You're so annoying." Ashley pouted, thinking to herself, 'On the night of the charity event, I had felt your extraordinary aura, never expecting to have this fate with you and wait for you to come.'
She searched everywhere but couldn't find out which company Caleb belonged to. Unfortunately, Zack had taken the guest list from that night, and she struggled to get it back but failed.
Caleb's gaze involuntarily drifted back to Aurelia, feeling increasingly uncomfortable as he looked at her.
The four of them stood still for a few seconds, each lost in their thoughts.
"Caleb, how about we play golf? I'll call the butler to clear the course," Ashley said.
Caleb wasn't interested, but in front of Nathaniel, he didn't dare to refuse directly. Seeing Caleb unmoved, Ashley shifted her focus to Nathaniel. "Nathaniel, come with us."
Ashley tugged at Nathaniel's sleeve, hinting and seeking his help in various ways.
Nathaniel had work arrangements for the day and had skipped work for several days, planning to go to the office after breakfast. He hadn't expected this turn of events.
After a moment's thought, Nathaniel decided to have Ashley keep an eye on the troublemaker- Caleb. So Caleb wouldn't have time to pester his Aurelia.
Although his sister was someone he cared deeply about, compared to his Aurelia, he quickly made up his mind.
"Let's go and play golf for a while?" Nathaniel advised.
Caleb sighed and complied with Ashley's arrangement. It was his fault for not clarifying the situation and seeking his father's advice about the marriage, which now seemed to be a mistake he had to bear alone.
Glancing at Ashley, he thought to himself, 'I need to find an opportunity to explain to her. She didn't seem like someone who would be manipulated into a marriage by her family. Bringing up the idea of breaking off the engagement should come from her; suggesting it by myself would tarnish her reputation.’
"Let's go," Caleb replied.
Ashley enthusiastically walked by Caleb's side, reached the garage, deftly opened the passenger door, and got in without hesitation.
Caleb sat in the car, waiting for Nathaniel's car to leave first. He had never been to the Heilbronn family's golf course and needed Nathaniel to lead the way.
"Caleb, can you help me fasten my seatbelt?"
Ashley had dressed up for the occasion, styled her hair like a princess, with rosy makeup and pouting pink lips, acting coquettishly.
Caleb glanced sideways, seeing Ashley looking at him expectantly. Images of Aurelia's distant face flashed through his mind.
Rubbing his temples, he felt foolish for being drawn to someone who ignored him.
"You can do it yourself," he replied curtly.
Ashley grumbled, "It's my first time in your car. I can't find it. Can you help me, please?"
Seeing him today was a pleasant surprise for Ashley. Upon returning from the countryside with her parents a few days ago, she heard that her grandfather had arranged a marriage for her in her absence. Upset by the news, she had refused to come downstairs to eat for several days.
Little did she know that such a big surprise awaited her. The arranged marriage her grandfather had set up turned out to be with Caleb, whom she had fallen in love with at first sight. The whole thing then appeared to her a plot twist even more dramatic than the novels she read.
She firmly believed that she and Caleb were destined to be together, their fate predetermined by fate.
With both hands on the steering wheel, Caleb glanced at Ashley and recalled a time when Nathaniel's entire family had attended a parent-teacher meeting, and Ashley had been held in her mother's arms.
No matter how he looked at it, she was still an immature girl, just like his sister. The thought of being with her made him uncomfortable.
He unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over to fasten hers, deliberately avoiding touching Ashley's body as he passed by.
With a click, the seatbelt clicked into place.
"See? Do it yourself next time."
Ashley nodded in satisfaction.
By this time, Nathaniel's car had already left the villa, and Caleb started his vehicle, gently pressing the gas pedal to follow.
The Heilbronn Group's golf course was located in the suburbs, on land Nathaniel had bought out of boredom. He had built a small villa here for leisure, coming over for a break when he had free time.
Although the construction was completed, he had only inspected the place. Ashley loved it here and would occasionally come to stay for a few days.
After handing the car over to the valet, the four of them walked onto the grassy expanse, surrounded by healing greenery. The air was fresher than in the city.
Accustomed to the fast-paced city life, time here seemed to slow down.
Aurelia felt completely relaxed, as it was her first time here. Looking around, she couldn't help but stretch lazily.
Nathaniel glanced at Aurelia around him and asked her, "Will you give it a try later?"
Aurelia hesitated. "I don't know..."
Nathaniel replied, "I'm here. I'll teach you."
Ashley raised her eyelids and looked at Aurelia, showing a disdainful expression. She thought that Aurelia would definitely not be able to do it and that she would embarrass her later.
Ashley snorted. “Aurelia, let's have a little competition."
Aurelia knew exactly what Ashley was thinking. Ashley wouldn't miss any chance to humiliate her. Besides, she really didn't know how to play.
She admitted, "I don't know how to play yet. Let me learn first before competing with you."
Ashley sneered, finding Aurelia's words humiliating. Learning first and then competing with her? She had grown up playing golf since she was a child. Aurelia's arrogance was too much.
Ashley agreed, “Okay. I'm not afraid of you."
Ashley thought, 'Today, I had to put Aurelia in my place; otherwise, Aurelia would become more and more arrogant.'
Aurelia looked to Nathaniel for help. He was already holding a club, ready to be her personal coach.
Nathaniel said, "Aurelia, come here."
Aurelia obediently walked over, and a club was handed to her. The next moment, Nathaniel embraced her from behind.
She turned to Nathaniel, finding him with one hand on his hip, his gaze fixed on her lower body.
Rushing out in the morning, she had casually changed into a shirt and a skirt in the dressing room, not expecting to engage in any physical activity.
She could play golf in this outfit, but when she bent over, Nathaniel's displeasure at the sight of her fair thighs was evident, especially with Caleb present.
"Wait a moment." Nathaniel released her, walking to the rest area to make a phone call.
Ashley looked smug. "Aurelia, it seems like Nathaniel isn't too willing to teach you. He didn't just walk away like that when he taught Chelsea last time!"
