Chapter 126 Like a Wedding Scene
Chelsea, with red eyes, took deep breaths. Thinking about Nathaniel's recent attitude towards her, she felt a sense of suffocation. Chelsea had thrown tantrums, pretended to be sick, and even attempted suicide, but it only won her his temporary company. Deep down, she knew Nathaniel was drifting further and further away from her, getting closer to that Aurelia, although she was unwilling to admit it.
Ashley helped her slowly back to her seat.
Feeling bitter, Chelsea was determined to find a good way to drive Aurelia away from Nathaniel completely.
"Ashley, could you contact those media outlets again?" she asked.
Ashley didn't understand what she was planning. "Last time, my journalist friend was kicked out of Imperick by my brother's people, and the unit he was in was dissolved."
Ashley wanted to avoid bringing up this matter. She failed to achieve her goal and even implicated her friend. She boasted in front of him, saying everything was fine and that if there was a problem, she would handle it. However, Nathaniel swiftly took action, and on the same day, her friend lost his job without any chance of redemption.
Ashley felt embarrassed and never dared to contact that friend again.
Chelsea pressed on. "Try again. Let's finish what we started."
Her tone was fierce, showing her determination to crush Aurelia.
Ashley hesitated, "Seriously? My friend is probably scared; he's afraid my brother will ruin him."
This time, Chelsea was resolute. "Seriously. We've reached this point. Things can't get any worse, can they? If we succeed, we'll give him a sum of money, much better than working in a small town."
Her friend was already unemployed, so there was nothing worse that could happen. Working class like him, living paycheck to paycheck, were always in need of money. With a substantial sum, they could do any job, and after this one, they would earn a large amount of money, a lucrative deal anyone would be willing to take.
Ashley was convinced. "Okay, I'll contact him again."
Nathaniel carefully examined the newly made diamond bracelet, which had a great design. It looked more elegant than similar items on the market and had a touch of uniqueness.
He couldn't help but see shades of Lolly's design style in it. They had a disagreement last time about this matter, and he didn't dare bring it up again, intending to let it fester inside him.
For now, two bracelets were produced—one for Aurelia and the other as a showcase item for the launch event. After the event, it would be sold at the highest bid.
He had the bracelets packaged, with the one for Aurelia being more exquisite. Back in his office, he called Aurelia on the internal line.
"Come to my office," he said.
Aurelia was taken aback. She had returned to the Bloom Villa late the night before, thinking he was already asleep. He hadn't returned home all night, and she didn't know what he was busy with.
Locking her computer screen, she grabbed her phone and headed upstairs.
The nineteenth floor was quiet in the afternoon. Perhaps the colleagues were still tired and not fully engaged in work. No one was reporting in his office.
When Aurelia entered, Nathaniel raised his eyes. "Close the door," he instructed.
Aurelia tensed, remembering what happened last time at this very door.
"What's the matter?" she asked, getting straight to the point.
Nathaniel chuckled, wondering why she thought there had to be a reason to see her.
He retrieved the packed diamond bracelet from the drawer and placed it on the table. "Come over and see the piece you designed. It will be publicly available for sale tomorrow. Let me surprise you with the first one."
Aurelia wasn't particularly fond of diamonds; she preferred jewelry. However, Nathaniel was clearly giving her something, and she couldn't refuse. Aurelia walked over and opened the exquisite jewelry box.
The finished bracelet was stunning, far more beautiful than on paper. With so many diamonds set in it, it was truly magnificent, sparkling incessantly. In the light, it would shine even brighter.
"It's quite beautiful," she genuinely praised. It wasn't the first time she had owned a design of her own, but she couldn't help feeling a little excited.
It was different this time. Nathaniel had personally overseen the transformation of the design into a physical piece and handed it to her. Aurelia thought she would cherish this bracelet, perhaps even too much to wear it.
Putting down his pen, Nathaniel asked, "Need a hand?"
Perplexed, Aurelia thought, 'With what?'
Nathaniel took the bracelet and placed it on her wrist. It complemented her fairskin well. He thought it would look even better paired with the dresshidden in the lounge. However, he didn't want to reveal it yet; Zack had mentioned that knowing in advance would spoil the surprise.
"Get ready for tomorrow. You can put on some makeup and look presentable. I've prepared your outfit. Also, I already had someone prepare your speech, and you can memorize it later," Nathaniel instructed.
He rarely asked her to put on makeup, but this time, he was generous and asked her to keep it light.
When Aurelia heard the latter part of his instructions, she perked up. "Do I have to speak?"
Facing the media could be nerve-wracking for her.
Nathaniel assured her, thinking ahead to when their marriage was announced. As his wife, she would have to say something. The media might ask some tough questions, but he would handle it.
"Don't worry. I'll be here. If there's something you don't want to say, no one can force you. Just handle the basics and leave the rest to me," Nathaniel reassured her.
Aurelia felt a bit more at ease, knowing he would be by her side. They hadn't stood together so openly in such a grand setting yet, but she considered it the wedding he owed her.
With that thought, Aurelia looked forward to tomorrow.
The press conference was scheduled for 10 a.m.
Early in the morning, Nathaniel had called Aurelia to do her styling. He had already discussed with the stylist that the makeup should be light, especially the eye makeup.
Her eyes were naturally captivating, with long eyelashes resembling raven feathers. They didn't want to make her look too glamorous.
The stylist understood the key point—keep the eye makeup light.
Aurelia had good skin and hardly needed any concealer. After a basic skincare routine, a layer of foundation was all she needed, making her skin appear much fairer than average.
The press conference would be held in the lobby of the Heilbronn Group building.
A team was working on Aurelia's makeup when she was mysteriously escorted to the CEO's office.
Nathaniel had everything prepared and was waiting downstairs. The press conference was less than an hour away, and the venue was already set up, awaiting the arrival of the attendees.
Zack, observing the warm setup, wondered if Nathaniel'staste had changed. In the past, during press conferences, the venue was decorated in his minimalist style, using black, white, and gray. Today, however, they broke tradition by using white and pink, with many flowers and balloons, resembling a wedding scene.
