Chapter 352 Discovering the Son's Secret

In the car, Dorothy was quite excited. She didn't want to be cooped up at home. Following Dahlia meant just running around the neighborhood, but with Dad, she could go to his office, which was decorated like a children's playground with all the toys she could want.

Jacoba, on the other hand, had a calm expression. He was still more interested in his robot.

Nathaniel didn't rush to start the car. He first made a call to Zack.

"Go buy some snacks that kids like and leave them in my office."

At that moment, Zack was already driving close to the company. Upon receiving the boss's request, he turned around and headed to the supermarket. He thought the boss was entertaining clients. However, when he walked into the CEO's office with bags of snacks and saw two kids jumping on Nathaniel's couch, he realized that Nathaniel's main job today was babysitting while working part-time.

Zack put the snacks on the table and reported the day's schedule.

"Mr. Heilbronn, the morning meeting starts in ten minutes. At ten o'clock, there's an international video conference scheduled to last about an hour. Also, there are several are a few urgent contracts that need your signature before noon."

Zack had already placed the important contracts on Nathaniel's desk yesterday. Although he mentioned several, there was actually a substantial stack.

Nathaniel had recently been devoting much of his energy to his family, and as a result, this work had accumulated over the past few days.

Nathaniel showed no expression, seemingly unaffected by the noisy kids on the couch, and focused on the documents on his desk.

Zack, thinking there was nothing else, was about to leave the office when Nathaniel instructed, "Check with the secretarial and HR departments to see if anyone can entertain kids—play games, sing, or dance. Have them come up at ten. Also, reschedule the morning meeting to take place here."

Zack received the task and stepped out, immediately sending a message to the group chat: [Anyone with experience taking care of kids, message me.]

As soon as he asked, Facebook messages started popping up one after another.

As the CEO's assistant, Zack's words were never taken lightly. Everyone tried to interpret his messages, knowing they likely reflected the CEO's intentions.

[Zack, is it for a four-year-old? I can do it! I take care of my nephew every day at home. Pick me!]

[Zack, who are the two cute kids Mr. Heilbronn brought this morning? Are we supposed to entertain them?]

[I volunteer! Zack, pick me. I'm great with kids. I can even sing some nursery rhymes for you.]

Zack saw the last message and before he could reply, a video was sent. He accidentally played it, and music blared out.

Zack quickly turned off the video and replied: [Come to the CEO's office at ten.]

Zack selected three people to entertain the kids and then notified the managers attending the morning meeting to prepare their reports and come to the CEO's floor.

The usual morning meeting was held in the company's largest conference room. The dozen or so executives were already seated as usual.

Receiving Zack's message, they exchanged glances and took the elevator upstairs.

The morning meeting wasn't long, and Nathaniel's office was a bit cramped for all these people. He closed the office door, letting the kids play inside, while he held the meeting in the hall outside his office.

The area outside his office had been transformed into a children's play zone, with no sofas to sit on. So, the half-hour meeting was held standing.

During the meeting, Nathaniel listened to his subordinates' reports, occasionally glancing through the door crack to check on the kids, ensuring they weren't getting into anything dangerous.

After the meeting, the executives returned to their posts. Soon, the company's small group chat buzzed with activity.

[Mr. Heilbronn brought kids to work, a boy and a girl, and they're in the CEO's office.]

[What? Mr. Heilbronn has kids? With his cold demeanor, won't the kids be scared?]

[Scared of what? The kids are jumping on his imported couch. Every time I report to his office, I'm afraid to sit on it, worried I'll break it.]

[Who would've thought, Mr. Heilbronn is a doting dad. Seems he's only stern with us.]

Zack's alternate account was in the chat, silently watching the gossip. He thought, 'I'm not just a doting dad; I'm also incredibly devoted to my wife.'

Nathaniel's day went smoothly. Despite the kids' antics, they didn't cause any trouble. Near the end of the day, Zack hurriedly knocked on Nathaniel's office door.

"Mr. Heilbronn, hacker J is back."

Nathaniel looked up sharply. Ever since their last encounter, hacker J had been inactive. The mere thought of Joe gave him a headache. Couldn't Joe, a big-shot CEO, find something better to do?

In the past few years, Joe had used some business tactics against him, causing significant losses. Of course, once he knew the reasons, he didn't hold grudges.

Since it was Aurelia's brother, letting him vent a bit was fine. After all, he was going to marry Joe's sister.

Nathaniel asked helplessly, "What did J do this time?"

Zack was also puzzled by J's actions. Despite being an enemy, J never did anything destructive, just annoying things.

"Mr. Heilbronn, he changed all our company's promotional videos to play Mickey Mouse."

Nathaniel was speechless. He couldn't picture Joe, a man in his thirties, having a fascination with Mickey Mouse. What kind of strange hobby was that?

Nathaniel rubbed his forehead. "Get someone to change it back."

He thought he needed to have a talk with Joe. Playing such games was really childish.

Zack hurried downstairs to find the network security team to restore the videos.

Nathaniel handled a lot of work that day. Knowing he had to pick up Aurelia after work and still had the two kids with him, he sped up his work, finishing in one day, which usually took a day and a half.

At six o'clock, he clocked out on time.

Nathaniel locked his important items in the drawer and, when he went to check his emails, found his computer missing from the desk.

He looked around and found Dorothy in the lounge behind his desk, changing her Barbie doll's clothes. His computer was on Jacoba's lap.

Jacoba's little hands were flying over the keyboard, making him look like a tech prodigy.

"Jacoba, what are you doing?" Nathaniel asked.

His sudden appearance caught Jacoba off guard.

Can't win me back
